Adopt a Native Elder’s mission began as a simple act of kindness.
During the Hopi-Navajo land dispute in the 1980’s, 10,000 Navajos were relocated from their traditional homelands. Facing homelessness and hardships, Linda Myers teamed up with Grace Smith Yellowhammer to deliver what Navajo elders needed most: food. Now their services involve donating firewood, setting up markets for selling goods, and providing children with school supplies.
