The upper Apalachicola River has geology like no other in Florida.
The northern 30 ore 40 miles of the Apalachicola River is lined with bluffs and ravines. Here, more rocks and fossils are exposed than in any other place in Florida. On the first day of RiverTrek 2016, a group of conservation minded kayakers explores some of the rockiest places in Florida. Their guide is Assistant State Geologist Harley Means. He finds ancient fossils and rocks.
