Diving into Discovery at Merritt’s Mill Pond

Clip: Season 1 Episode 9 | 3m 6sVideo has Closed Captions

A spring fed corner of the Apalachicola watershed, popular with kayakers and cave divers.

We kayak over the clear, spring fed waters of Merritt's Mill Pond. An average of 116 million gallons discharge from six or seven springs. We start at Jackson Blue, a first magnitude spring, headwaters of the pond. We also visited Shangri-La Spring. Over the course of the adventure, we see a crawfish hanging out near spring vent, a human sized alligator gar, egrets, and cormorants.
