An underwater excavation of the Wacissa River unearths 12,000 year old artifacts.

Morgan Smith is a PhD. candidate at Texas A&M, studying archeology. A Tallahassee native, he leads an excavation of a riverbank along the Wacissa River. He and his team scuba dive in the chilly, spring-fed water of the Wacissa, systematically working their way down the strata to unearth artifacts believed to belong to the 12,000 year old Suwannee Culture.
