Teacher Monica DeStasio caught COVID-19 around Christmas 2021, and her breathing problems got worse as the illness progressed. But when her struggles continued for months after the infection, she learned she was experiencing "long COVID-19." DeStasio is part of a growing group of people who have a multitude of symptoms that can last long after their initial COVID-19 illness.
