In my eyes, It's the evolution of culture.

The evolution of the African American experience; Gospel, Funk, Jazz, Blues, Soul, Rock & Roll, and Hip Hop All share a common ancestor.

And that common ancestor is the African American experience.

And this experience created a dialog through music.

So when I hear from Muddy Waters and Louis Armstrong, John Coltrane and James Brown, I see and hear similarities in their experiences that echo the experiences of a NAS, a Rock Campbell, a Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole And these experiences created similarities that transcend genre, space and time which, in turn, create bridges throughout a musical family tree and these bridges are there to be crossed.

And that's where the Two Waters comes in.

To me, the Two Waters nursed these relationships organically, subconsciously curating our own experiences.

So in closing, America as a whole, was blessed with this diverse but interconnected musical history, so it was only right to bring things together all in the name of continuing that dialog, the dialog of the American experience.
