Petit Manan Island is a 16-acre island covered in birds.
Petit Manan Island supports a large population of Atlantic Puffins, Laughing Gulls and Common Terns, and several dozen pairs of Roseate Terns. Leach's Storm-petrels, Black Guillemots, and Common Eiders also nest on the island. The Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge encompasses the island and the 119 foot lighthouse is the second highest in the state.
