We started a mail order business and the potica business just been fantastic and we sell a ton of it during the Christmas holiday as well as Easter.
But we make it year round because it's it sells very well what potica is It's a sweet dough that's rolled very, very thin.
And as you can see, we we were sheeting it out.
So each part of the process when we're making potica is very important Getting that dough really, really thin.
And you have to get it nice and square.
We make the filling ahead of time, but then we put the filling on.
And then, as you can see, my brother was rolling it the first step in the whole process is just going through all the walnuts.
So we buy a huge amount of walnuts, probably about 1200 pounds a year.
And then we have to sort all those out by hand to make sure there's no shells.
And then we go and then we run it through a grinder and then we make the filling, then the day before we make the potica.
So we make the sweet dough part of it.
It gets it goes in the refrigerator overnight and that, and then we start sheeting it out.
I like to make it.
It's fun.
And we have a good routine here, so it's a lot of fun and it's fantastic.
