This season, theater programs for young performers have been all abuzz in Seattle.
Lively performances hit stages around the city, like the musical "Into the Woods" by the Rising Star Project at the 5th Avenue Theatre.
Theater veterans say the pathway to becoming a professional performer is difficult in the city, citing day jobs are limited, which artists lean on to sustain themselves while pursuing their passion.
Seattle arts organizations continue to forge ahead with short-term intensive programs and live performances.
Year round, Vera Project offers classes and workshops on screen printing, recording, and concert lighting for young people.
At the Seattle Opera, catch the Teen Vocal Studio recital for free on April 22nd.
And at the Seattle Symphony, a workshop series is ongoing, teaching the art of composition.
The Young Composers Workshop concert is May 18th at Benaroya Hall.
