Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship- My name is Ethan Wilson and I go to Scotia-Glenville High School and I play the cello.
(The Swan) Today, I played The Swan and I've played that piece since middle school and I'm a senior in high school right now.
And this is the first time I've performed it in front of an audience.
(The Swan continues) It's kind of a slower piece and it's more lyrical, which is the style I prefer rather than a fast moving piece 'cause think you can express yourself more and you get lots of vibrato and that's like the best part.
(The Swan continues) I do plan to further my education in cello during college.
I wanna do commercial music where I can work in studios and can play for larger music people and artists.
(The Swan continues) Cheryl Ferraro nominated me today and I wanted to thank her 'cause she has pushed me to reach my level that I am now and she's helping me in so many ways with providing me with lessons.
She's a busy person so the fact that she can do that for me, and not just me but all of her students, it's great.
I'd like to thank my parents.
They've definitely supported me throughout this whole thing and my grandparents.
And they've pushed me to do social media which has helped my cello playing skills too.
And they're providing me with cello lessons.
I had a high schooler student, when I was in middle school, teach me some new things and that's what really started me.
Her name was Juliana.
And Ms. Ferraro also recommended her to me so.
