I go to She HOA High School and I play the violin.
I played the first movement of the Mendelssohn Violin concerto, and I think I describe it as very passionate and romantic.
I really like how there's many different colors, kind of as how I describe it.
There's a lyrical part that happens twice in different keys, kind of in the middle and in the end.
And then there's also fast parts that are more dramatic.
So the lyrical part is kind of like, it's kind of like my emotional and mental break 'cause I don't have to concentrate as much and I really like it.
And then the fast parts I have to concentrate more.
But they're also really fun to play.
For me, the most challenging part is the octaves, like in the beginning and at the end.
'cause they're really hard to like get perfectly in tune with the finger spacing.
And also just being expressive and phrasing it how I want it to come across to the audience.
I was nominated by my orchestra conductor, Etan Ablin.
I'd like to thank first Etan for nominating me, and I would also like to thank my mom for always supporting me and practicing with me when I was really little and coming up with all those fun games that I used to play to make practice more fun and also for just supporting me throughout and driving me everywhere.
And I would also like to thank my violin teacher, Michael Emery, for really teaching me how to grow as a player and become more expressive.
