#### Senator Mitch McConnell says he is against a commission to investigate the January sixth U.S. Capitol riot.
On the Senate floor, the minority leader said the Democrats' commission proposal is slanted and unbalanced.
He says the federal government is already investigating the riot, and he doesn't see what would come out of another investigation.
#### Jefferson County appears ready to approve "do-overs" for 770 students.
Students can ask to retake classes from the last school year if they suffered academically because of COVID.
The school board has to approve the request, and the Courier Journal says a majority of board members are leaning toward voting yes at the May 25th meeting.
Schools districts, throughout Kentucky, have until June 1st to decide if they will allow do-overs.
