Seattle's Asian Art Museum gets a second chance at reopening.
In February of 2020, the museum reopened to great fanfare after a three-year renovation.
But after just 35 days of being open, the 1933 Art Deco building closed again due to COVID-19.
But now it's back.
The refreshed rooms contain works from 2500 BCE to the present day, representing the various countries, dynasties, and cultures across Asia: China, Korea, Japan, India, the Himalayas, West, Central, and Southeast Asia, though the collection skews heaviest towards Chinese and Japanese.
When the museum reopens on May 28th, it will have a lower maximum capacity and one-way traffic.
You can expect to see younger artwork sprinkled throughout the museum amid ancient vessels, sculptures, and paper scrolls from their perches on the wall.
I'm Starla Sampaco.
