♪ May we all ♪ ♪ May we all ♪ - [Narrator] After its world premiere engagement at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, "May We All: A New Country Musical," will continue with a concept album and tour.

Let's take a look back at its debut on this week's "Arts Break."

♪ You just freefall ♪ - "May We All" is a jukebox country musical with an original story, centering on Jenna Coates, who comes from a small town and is trying to make it in the country music industry.

She's struggling a bit, and so is the town, and they come together to try and find their way forward.

♪ Miles away or just a mile up the road ♪ ♪ Take it in ♪ Country music is the heart of this show.

It runs all the way through it, it's what lifts it.

It's a spectacular celebration of the best things about country music.

♪ Done that ♪ ♪ I ain't looking back ♪ There's a huge range of really contemporary songs you'd hear on the radio right now and classics, so I think there is something for everyone in terms of different genres of country music and music from different times.

♪ Who says you can't go home ♪ - It's a unique experience to be able to sing something that I know people are listening to on the radio in their car, but have it have this lush musical theater orchestration.

So whether you are an avid country music listener or not, you will enjoy the music because it's done so expertly and it's executed so expertly.

♪ We were blessed and I believed her ♪ ♪ Never thought the grass was greener ♪ I can totally see that this city has probably radically changed in the last couple of years, but part of that radical change are things like our show, where it made perfect sense for our producers to come here and debut this new musical, because there are new people here who might really love theater and country music, and so why not use this space and this time to debut this new musical?

I think there's a lot that this show could go and do, and that's also exciting too, because we get to start it here and feel the welcomed energy of Nashville, and then kind of use that energy to catapult us wherever we're going next.
