The mayor asks city council to change curfew for teens. Some call it a rights violation.
Mayor Lightfoot today changed her stance and is now asking City Council to pass an earlier weekend curfew for teens- from the current 11 p.m. to 10 p.m. in response to recent violence downtown that resulted in a 17-year-old allegedly shooting and killing a 16-year-old. But activists and civil rights organizations say the move would disproportionately target Black and Brown teens.
