Four Essex County cities plan COVID-19 lockdowns

Four Essex County cities plan to strongly advise non-essential businesses to close and residents to stay home as they fight skyrocketing COVID-19 cases and positivity rates. Newark's mayor is pushing for the longest lockdown at 10 days, starting from the day before Thanksgiving all the way through Dec. 4. But the mayors can't order lockdowns under Gov. Phil Murphy's executive orders.
