And do we want to go check out with the Claire Simms or talk tequila here.
What do you think?
All right, Keelan a couple of weeks ago, you were calling a game at the Georgia, Dome Corky Kell classic was Colquitt County taking on Grace, and Colquitt County won that game, 5:39 and sometime there in the second half.
You had an opinion on how the Colquitt County players were so strong.
So tough, so talented and I'm going to let you explain the rest.
Hey guys, have you ever heard of the sports?
This pressing chopping wood, it means.
Practicing over and over and over again, Mark and over and over, not so much.
But you honestly this down south Georgia, they taught me a little lesson about what they really do and what chopping wood really means to them.
Take a look, Georgia, I'm so happy to be here.
We're here at three crazy Bakers and I'm ready to eat some sweets.
Let's check it out.
Welcome to three crazy Bakers.
How you doing?
Tell me what's the concept behind the three Creek?
Crazy Bankers?
Well, we have three children.
And anyone who does this, for a living is got to be crazy.
The bakery started out with sweets.
Why don't you try one of those delicious Packer oatmeal?
Cookies, Keelan and tell me what you think.
Mmm.
Well, I'll tell you right now, I'm a fan.
Well, good, I'm a Packer fan now, I guess.
Yeah, go fast.
Now, we are at the Moultrie Technical College.
Thanks for having the generator.
So glad you came to Moultrie.
Thank you so much in this is your new building.
This is our Health Sciences.
Building we have a lot of great equipment, state-of-the-art stuff that you'd see in any medical center.
Do you mind if I get Hands-On I want to try some of the equipment actually.
What we do best is Hands-On training.
This is one of our simulators today.
We're working on CPR skills.
Going to take the base of your You're going to have 30 compressions.

Now we can press OK Maria and then you would start with compressions.
Again, I don't think it works.
Go what happened.
So what's a good place around here for us to relax?
Well, there's banging strings downtown where you can hear great music and get some good coffee.
Alright, beans are strings, let's go.
Oh yeah, being the strings baby.
We're here with the owner, Eric beans, and streams this tells a little bit, what you do here.
You know, I just watched coffee shops and music stores.
Was open and close and open, close inaudible town.
I thought, you know, it would be a really cool idea to have a space where you could teach music lessons.
But parents, while the waiting can sit out and drink a lot, a you mind, if we hang out and rock out with you and play some instruments, that'd be awesome.
There you go.
I have a lot of fun today, but I think I'm gonna stick to what?
I know.
And that's football, baby.
All right, sounds great.
All right guys.
Last stop of the day.
I'm here at Colquitt County and we're going to talk with the football team.
We're going to see what they have to say.
I made a statement that the court can kill and you guys, actually turn that thing until something powerful that motivate your kids, the games decided between those white lines.
You know, that you played that game.
Yes sir.
You can't get caught up with all the stuff on the outside.
What's something that motivates you or Alice on Fridays at end of the school day before the game we we kind of chopping wood and stacking win states to me.
Right?
Push a little bit more put on her name out there, motivate us to go play with all week.
Hi.
God has been a fun and exciting.
And long day here in Moultrie, Georgia, we did so much and we found out what the Packers were truly about.
All right, choppin wood, stacking wins.
I know you were good for the local economy down there.
Cute definitely was more waiting on my check.
I'm waiting on my check.
All right.
Thanks a lot of those t-shirts and we thank you very much.
And now let's send it over to cat Akeelah and the check is in the mail.
Oh man, you know what Marietta High School was established more than 100 years ago, 1892?
In fact, now, with that kind of History, there's got to be a lot of spirit and our Claire Simms, paid a visit earlier today to see how All the students are getting in the mood for their big night evening cat.
You know, they do have a lot of history, they are just dripping with it.
Everything from this Bell to a long history of an artistic Spirit, its Spirit day at Marietta High School and the seniors are having a special cookout at lunch to get ready for tonight's rivalry.
Matchup is like it's like bigger than bigger than big, it's like bigger than New York.
City Manhattan Island is huge.
So now that we've had lunch, it's time.
To go back to class and for this one, no, she was allowed.
I'm Stan ready to say hello audience.
Marietta has a thriving arts program, which just moved into its own brand new Wing.
This year, no schools don't even offer dance.
So it's just a nice break from my studies clothes back and a quick and a quick and too slow again and dance.
Teacher Qi Aza wahby day says, that's something the high school and even the football team are proud of I've had a ton of players and what's really amazing is they'll take it to help with their football and then they fall in love and they're just trying to get back into those classes on a regular basis plus it's where the girls are.
So once they figure it out, they loved it six and seven in front quick, quick.
But even with a gifted teacher, like Miss day, not everyone can dance.
This is really hard.
Okay, so classes over everybody's packing up and leaving.
How did I do I think you need to stay after class?
So in my defense I was on the dance team in high school so this is a little more my speed but those girls are absolutely fantastic.
They will have their next big performance next Saturday at 1:30 at the Marietta reads celebration and they they are an advanced class cat.
So no making fun.
All right back to you know making fun for me.
Thank you so much.
Claire.
You know what Marietta High School has a long tradition of football and tonight at halftime a school, celebrate that history with that Hall of Name.
Ceremony, which means that right now we get to enjoy the visiting, McEachern, High School band during pregame.
Let's listen into their performance presented by Regions Bank.
Actually you know what, it's gonna be coming up at, hey Mark, have you heard them before?
All right, coming up after the break, John Nelson, will test the Marietta student on his public radio knowledge, plus our cheerleader Challenge and I'll show you the ones to watch to keep an eye on that much.
More is football, Friday's George all Georgia's, all access, pass continues on GPB.
Nothing like Grill and Hot Dogs at a high school football game.
Welcome back to our GPB, all access pass pregame show as we get ready for the big game at northcut stadium, as Marietta gets ready to host McEachern.
Now, let's send it over to Claire Simms was a very special guest standing alongside Claire.
Hey, thanks, Mark, I am standing by sin.
Lindsay, Tippin's of Marietta, and you grew up here in Cobb County.
So, you have a long history here, right?
I've been here for a long time, but living in Cobb since 1955, and I understand you also have a little bit of history with this football game, and we're standing on the Marietta sideline, we might want to not stand too close, right?
Marriage has always been a friend.
I was raised in West Cobb and went to McEachern.
So I have a lot of friends on both sides here tonight.
I'm glad to be here and I understand you did play football.
I did indeed have played on the McEachern team and 47 years and 11 days ago.
I broke my knee and that was the reason I just had knee surgery.
Well let's turn a little more serious where you are on the education and youth committee.
What are some of the biggest Shoes that you guys are gonna be working on coming up next year.
Well, financing for education is always one of the biggest issues you ever see.
But obviously, we have a concerted effort, trying to look at academics and try to evaluate the problems in the in the out, parts of the state as to why some schools have huge problems in education and we're trying to kick off a program that we study these particular schools in.
To see if we can learn lessons that are transportable and used throughout the state because academics is what it's all about.
Thank you so much for joining us and real quick, who's going to win tonight.
I won't make him answer, it will start with an m back to you, Marv.
Good answer.
It'll start with an m and it'll be a school in Cobb County.
I guarantee that, as you may know, GPB isn't just all about television.
We also have a radio arm part of national public radio NPR.
But we have noticed that some of The radio reporters names at NPR aren't as simple to pronounce as Mark Harmon and John Nelson.
What's up with that John?
Well, we'll certainly find out in just a second.
Mark, I have here.
Someone who is a very brave soul and your name sir, Philip settle Meyer, and what year are you?
I'm a senior and you're a senior here at a home game, right?
Yes, sir.
Okay, what we're going to do with Phillip is we are going to present to Philip for names of correspondents for national public radio.
And you talk about NPR, they got great, programming Garrison, Keillor everything from current, Affairs to news and all of that stuff.
So, what we're going to do, we've got four names.
We're going to present them one at a time.
And let's see how close he can come to pronouncing them correctly, okay, the first name go ahead and pronounce it for me.
Sorry, yeah, sorry hottie, Nelson, close to two-thirds correct.
It is psoriasis our hottie Nelson.
No relation.
Let's go to the second name.
Look at that second name.
What do you see?
Oh, Phoebe area.
Squeeze art time close.
It is oh Fabian.
Request arctan.
He's 2 for 2 but A good way.
Let's go to name.
Number three.
What do you see?
Abdullah has has belty Flicka close.
It is abdelaziz.
Bouteflika 343, at least I am.
Anyway, let's go to number four dowley x Acuff p****.
I know it sounds, that's that's way out there.
It's closed, Wally's psych-out.
Ow, I'm 44 but playing a bit of a work on you hear of those four names that we just had.
One of them is not Not an NPR correspondent.
Which one do you think is not an NPR correspondent that you'd hear on the radio?
I'm going to go with Ophelia book, Wiest.
Oh, baby!
It, Chris Harkin is incorrect.
It is the third one abdelaziz bouteflika.
He is the president of Algeria, I didn't know that.
We'll see now.
You got to see, you know, you learn things every day and for for being a great sport.
We've got Phillip a fantastic Parting Gift cat.
It's actually this is going to work for him.
He's going to wear it.
Ugly, as we go forward, we'll send it over to you.
I love it.
But you know what?
Everybody, Jon Nelson cheated phonetics on his paper, Jon Nelson cheated, cheated on.
That's right, automatically, disqualified.
Moving on, moving on, I'm joined by Keelan Johnson our game analyst, I guess what?
It's time for the one to watch.
So, I segment.
That's right.
It's our segment.
This is where we look at the players on both teams and we say, who are one to watch it.
So, let's just get right into it.
You know what, the McEachern, Indians coach, Kyle Hockman.
Tells me that there are nine players returning on defense.
You got free safety, Darius Thompson.
There's also Glenn Frazier for players returning on offense, Taj Griffin, tie Clemens.
You know what my one to watch is Ty Clements.
I'm going with the quarterback, he's confident under pressure in the pocket, he's got good instincts.
When you watch him play, you just feel confident.
You just feel comfortable watching you.
She took my guy again.
Sorry Todd's Griffin is I'm going to go with the running back.
He's a very good specimen for this spread offense.
He spreads to Philly keeps the defense honest, he's really A space.
So I have to give credit to him.
Plus, he has a cool haircut.
He does have a cool haircut.
See what the haircuts look like over at Marietta High School.
You know what the players are looking good?
Coach tells me that these are players who are going to be in the thick of it tonight on offense, you've got running back.
Kurvanti Benson wide receiver Jordan Mathis over on defense, Ty Tomlin and Drew Thompson kahlan.
I'm Gonna Let You Go.
First, I'm gonna go Walton Ward.
This young man is the glue of the defense heart and soul.
He does so much for this program coach says, he's always around the football.
I'm all about a gamer and he's a gamer, baby.
Oh, I like Gamers to and you know what's funny is normally I'm a defense girl this this this week I'm going offense all the way.
I'm going with running back kurvanti Benson notice he's got an amazing ability to break through tackles and when he's running down the field, the rest of the players, they look like birds like taking off and he's amazing.
But you know what those are are ones to watch.
Do you agree or disagree log on to Facebook, GPB sports or a tweet us?
The hashtag is To watch.
And right now, I'm going to send it over to Grace Olson for the cheerleader challenge.
Thank you Kat.
Now, I was a cheerleader, all throughout high school and I know those football players are not the only ones but that competitive spirit that cheerleading squads can be just as competitive.
So we're going to get some of that Spirit out tonight with our cheerleading challenge.
It is a water balloon toss.
I've got both of my teachers and they're going to cheerleading squads here.
Here, representing McEachern.
And I have senior Captain Kelly Farah and then representing Marietta I have seen your captain as well.
Claire dive Kelly first.
Question is for you.
How what about this rivalry?
It is a huge rivalry game.
Marietta rivalry.
Tell me how important it is to your squat.
It means that we have to come out here and turn up boys even more so that we can prove that were the real images.
Okay.
And now over to where I can see it's heated.
Clear, you told me you've participated in a lot of water?
Balloon toss has in your day?
What is the key to keeping that water balloon for bursting?
Well tonight, the key is you gotta be a Marietta Blue Devil from the rail MHS.
Oh Stationed here.
Now, before we get down to brass tacks, let's go through the rules.
The first goal tonight is players possible learn to their teammate, the opposite player, must catch the balloon, and hope it does not pop.
Second rule each pair tosses once.
Before they rotate in the third rule, whichever team breaks the water balloon, first loses now girls.
Are you ready?
We're going to begin ready.
12.
Okay.
They're tossing.
Carefully, got 15 seconds to go ten seconds to go.
Either balloon has broken.
These girls are good.
All right, we've got our winners here, Marietta High School, the home team.
Let's presented their football Fridays in Georgia t-shirts were those t-shirts here.

He found another way to pass your time.
If you're in the mood for some old-fashioned fun.
I am over 85 years there's been a family in Northwest Georgia delivering fun times in a big way to people of all ages Lake Winnipesaukee the chair.
A keyword for beautiful water is known more.
Simply these days as Lake.
Winnie, this thrill on the Hills is a true throwback amusement park in the spirit of Coney Island founded by her, grandparents in 1925, Miss Adrian in the family, still amazingly run the show.
Even as the rides, get bigger, the Thrills get better and the visitors get wetter.
And father was very much an outdoors person.
His mouth, this property and 1924 from a fishing club.
He wanted to start the Coney Island of the South and opened it in 1925.
We all survive during the Depression.
Oh, absolutely.
Yes.
We're the third longest operating amusement park in the United States.
It's just a wonderful, family, operation run by families for families.
Tennyson Dickinson, grew up right behind Lake.
Winnie, in fact, her old backyard has now become the Sokka water.
Park water, slides tube, slides, kiddie pools and waterfalls, all surrounded by a 900 foot crazy.
River makes okiya the cherry on top to the ever-growing Funland, Perfection.
That Lake Winnipesaukee.
And you can watch a David and Georgia traveler every Sunday night.
7 p.m. on GPB.
Well Georgia has one of the highest Dropout rates in the entire nation and we want to remind our viewers the importance of staying in school and getting that diploma with more on our stop the drop campaign.
Here's Kat Carney, thank you so much Mark.
You know last year over 13,000 Georgia children came through the foster care system and on any given day, in our state, nearly 7,500 children are in foster care.
As a result of neglect or abuse.
Use and the statistics get even worse.
Did you know that Georgia ranks second in the nation for risk of child homelessness?
Well, this orange duffle bag that I have here has become a symbol of Hope for some of those children who wonder where they will be resting their head at night and what their future will be like, and joining me now is my daily.
The president of the orange duffel bag initiative.
Thank you so much for being here.
Thank you, got.
This is a great honor.
Now for people who don't know, what is the orange duffel bag initiative, we are a Marietta based charity.
That helps George has at-risk teens that are youth in foster care and homeless teens in high school.
Stay on track to get their high school diploma and prepare them for education and higher education.
And how did it get started to get started by Sam bracket.
An echo, Garrett, Marietta, based, and Bracken story is my owners duffle bag, which is the Genesis of not only our foundation, but of the 12 week after school, curriculum and then hold this Apple app that helps the teams develop their own individual comprehensive life and education.
Plan, awesome.
And you know what?
It's a 12-week curriculum.
That some of the kids get that the kids go through and the 12-week.
Curriculum is based On some of the set of the key principles in this book, can you give me a couple of those key principles?
The curriculum is led by professional executive level life coaches.
The saying that CEOs would receive are helping these youth with the principles of Desire awareness, finding out the impact of choices, the wrong choices, and they discover within themselves.
What it is, they're good at what it is they want.
And they start to Envision then what are where they want to go.
And that's the plan that we develop.
So, they graduate with an actual plan, A Plan A, and A Plan B, that's awesome.
And then how do these principles speak to the unique?
Lunges that homeless and Foster Care youth have.
So many of the youth especially the youth in foster care.
They've been moved from group home to group home and work with a lot of the ones in a group homes.
So they're older high school teams and they risk of Aging out before achieving their high school diploma but they're bright.
They're brilliant.
They just need someone to help guide them create a plan, they're bright, they're brilliant.
They need someone to help them but they also need something to help them as well.
And at the end of the 12 week program, they get this orange duffel bag that has, what inside of it.
It has a wonderful, beautiful new laptop, which will help them prepare for college.
And also for employment.
So it's something that they earn and they deserve and you know what?
We were talking earlier and it's important that the laptop is new, why is that important?
So many of these youth have been given hand downs and this is something they work.
Very hard for.
They have to earn it.
They're not giving a laptop so they should get something that every other young person gets is a brand-new laptop that they aren't.
Absolutely right.
And you know what, how can people get involved?
People are looking right now.
When wait, I want to be involved in this but we are Community Based solution.
So we really rally The Business Leaders and we would encourage the business news or Cobb to join.
Zaxby's Kennesaw State University and come play golf.
We have our first annual golf event.
Just get a foursome together.

Indians of McEachern.
It is the Blue Devils of Marietta.
It is game time on football Fridays in Georgia live on GPB.
Welcome to Marietta, Georgia town Treasures, its history.
Its proud to let you know that it existed before there ever was in Atlanta or even a Chattanooga.
Not far from these hallowed grounds, the storied Battle of Chickamauga ended.
On this very day to exactly 150 years ago, December 20th 1863, it was one of the Confederate armies biggest Civil War victories.
But a little more than a year later issues, payment Marietta was the first strike Sherman's, incendiary March to the Sea.
The ground had fairly cool when Marietta High School came into existence although its location and buildings have changed over the years.
The school is officially 121 years old and there's still plenty of fire and Blue Devil bellies for a good rumble on the Gridiron.
He went cross-country rival shows up entered, the McEachern, Indians from Powder Springs.
This team boasts, a storied football program under the longtime direction of Coach.
Kyle Hockman Bachman is often described as Loki, but his results speak for themselves teacher is a perennial playoff Contender defending champs in their region this year.
And at the same matchup last year, the Indians, Edged out the Blue Devils by one skinny Point 29 to 28 but that was last year that game was on McEachern Stern.
This year, the Marietta Blue Devils have the home-field advantage and are looking for their own scorching version of peda just a few short years at the hell coach Scott Burton is making big strides with this team including making the playoffs and beating Powerhouse Lowndes, high school at Lowndes.
Some say Marietta could be one of the surprise teams this year.
There's nobody they'd like to surprise more than McEachern.
Cross-county rivalry, definite Grudge Match and The Game worth watching as the Blue Devils.
Take on the Indians on this historic night.
Who makes history this time, you'll see it happen live football Fridays in Georgia.
It is football Fridays in Georgia live from northcut stadium in the heart of Marietta Georgia, as we await kickoff between the Marietta Blue Devils and the second-ranked McEachern, Indians, good evening everybody.
I am trained McDaniel alongside Colin Johnson, healin?
We're right in the heart of region play were finally in Cobb County.
We get to see to juggernauts.
Duke it out.
Let's start with number 2 McEachern and the guy that everything is going to run through on offense, they're talented quarterback.
Tie Clemens.
Yes, this young man is very talented.
I really like to see how he sits in a pile.
He's very well.
He did he throws about very well with his arm and he also is really good with his feet.
Stay tuned because he's the leader of this team and he is the man to watch and they have a great tandem on defense as well.
Killing probably the best defense of in combination that will see this year talk about Henry ephemeral and Mackenzie Billingsley.
Yeah, it's one hose down.
The left side of Defense to other Hills down the right side of the defense.
These guys are very, very good.
They work well together.
And this will be a good defense to watch them.
They're very aggressive.
Let's talk now about the home team Marietta.
They lost their first game.
Last week but make no mistake about it.
This is a very talented team and mainly because of their running back.
Very talented guy, kurvanti Benson Benson.
I really like him.
He's a downhill Runner.
He used, he has great vision.
Hey, this guy can take it, take it to the next level at any time and you will watch him on Saturdays.
And on the defensive side, there middle linebackers are division.
One guy also talked about Ty Tomlin, tied Tomlin sideline, to sideline tackler, he's a hard hitter.
I really liked how aggressive he is on the defense and he's a heart and soul of this defense as well.
This is I got a nickname for and his name is Hitman I can't wait to see him.
Definitely have some big hitters on the field will toss it over to our big hitter.
John Nelson standing by on the sidelines.
Nellie thank you.
Trey.
Thank you Caitlin.
Good evening, everyone.
However you are accessing us, whether it's on GPB, on, on the web at gpb.org or through our app, I am sitting on a very historic piece of northcut Stadium here.
French Johnson Field, this was a WPA project.
This entire stadium in 1939, built in 1940 and 41 and it is Going to be undergoing a seven million dollar renovation ready for the 2015.
Season, this particular wall was what built by farmers who brought stone that they had extra to create this wall to make sure that the stadium was done under budget and guides you want to talk about a historic place.
We're going to have a lot of history to talk about here tonight and hopefully Marietta might add another piece to their history under coach Burton let's send it upstairs to tray and Keelan guys.
Let's light this candle and hopefully Humpty Dumpty won't fall.
All right?
Let's jump right into our keys to success Keelan.
Take us through its brought to you by Georgia peanuts.
The powerpack snack for the big game.
Well, first and foremost, we have to look at makita's office, own fallenness.
They have to protect the ball, no, turnovers this, the highest social offense, or they have to be very careful in how they pursue down the field on the defense side of the ball.
They have to play smart and play fast because if they don't pay attention to their reads, it could be a long night for them on defense and the Marietta keys.
In the Marriott on offense.
They have to spread the wealth.
They have a few options.
For them.
And they go deep.
They can go to the short game, they really have to get in the groove.
Now, to spread the wealth and find their Playmakers, and on the defense side of the ball, they have to Blitz Blitz and Blitz all night.
Because I'm telling you this, this McEachern offense is high-powered.
They have to have a spot on the, on this tongue.
QB on Titanite.
Tie is the key and he's a glue to this game.
They don't have a spy on him.
It could be a long night for their defense.
You take a look at coach Burton, the Marietta coach in his fourth season, just an absolute pleasure to talk to this week healing.
You can tell that that's a guy right there.
That absolutely loves this community and loves this program and he is here to stay, and he has bought in 100%.
And on the opposite side, lied, coach, Kyle Hockman, a guy who has said, very clearly that he wants to enhance the reputation of his program.
Not only here in the state of Georgia, but across the state and even Nationwide.
He's really ready to take that next step, as a coach, and as a program, just by talking to both, These coaches and pregame, you can tell there's a calmness this game, you know, they were there.
Very, very slow to speak to us and and whatever they said, they want to make sure it's accurate because they want to make sure they were ready and their ballclub, ready for this.
Tough game tonight, McEachern won the toss.
They elected to diverse.
So Marietta will get the ball first in this football game.
As John said in a very very historic setting, he be very happy to be here tonight in the Cobb County Showdown.
It's taken by kurvanti Benson at the 20-yard line, he'll test them It'll and he'll be thrown to the ground, just outside the 30 yard line will be first down and 10 from the 32 and you'll see the Marietta offense come to the field coach Burton says.
If he had his druthers Keelan, he would like to run a pro-style offense but his Personnel dictates that he will run a spread offense, you see their quarterback.
Brett and Martin 32:56 468 yards, 60, DS3 and receptions.
He has yet to really got going on the ground, but he is a capable Runner so far.
He's been their leader through the air, though.
Yes, to this.
This One team on offense.
They're really trying to find a green from their identity who they are.
They could be so many different things but they have to find out what sticks and what helps them prepare on office out of all the mood and change.
That's the most important.
Very interesting what they have in store for us tonight and in Marietta fashion they will come out in four wide receivers on first down.
And now go empty backfield throw it out in the flat to Jordan and afters.
He's their leading wide receiver and he goes no, where he's tackled on the outside by number 15.
And we'll take a look.
Look at the Marietta offense, brought to you by Regions Bank, an undersized group upfront, Isaiah born is the center.
He'll be the guy that calls all the shots on the offensive line.
A talented group of skilled players as well.
Marcus Bennett, and Jordan Malthus will be the go-to guys in the pass game.
And of course the guy that Keelan spotlighted in the open, kurvanti a b and will be towed in the Rock tonight for the Blue Devils.
I'm here is Benson on his first Carry of the game.
He's got some room across the 40 yard line and takes a nice hit at the 42.
He'll be about a yard shy of the first down, 11-yard carry, just a very nice Zone read option for the for the running back business and get behind those two big linemen.
He has in front of him, this getting to the secondary nice physical run by Bix Henry.
Ephemeral out to make the tackle in space will say that a lot tonight.
I'll sideline to sideline player as a defense Then and same play.
Again, it's blown up in the backfield slightly by famine roof and he's written out of bounds.
Just shy the 50-yard line and we take a look at the McEachern defense, of course, led by Henry Femme arugula and number 98 in the Kinsley Billingsley.
Starting lineups, also, you brought to you by Regions Bank Glenn Frazier, Christian Wade, hold it down inside Pendleton and Whatley on the outside and Darius Thompson.
The big hitter playing free safety for the Indians.
Second down and eight shotgun and here we get to see Brent.
Martin carry the ball for the first time, he gets a nice block by Marcus Bennett on the outside.
As he picks up three yards, you goes out of Bounds at Midfield.
It'll bring up third down there.
Nice choice, coaches, front.
Trying to find his quarterback of running back in the Rhythm right there Zone.
Read once again that's blocking on the outside by the receivers of quarterback, just getting what you can really give he has to stay healthy in his ballgame.
He has to stay in tune to give his team a chance because Teeth.
Like you said, they have a lot of weapons on office out above.
They have to find out something what they do.
Well Mathis and Cooper split out to the left, then it to the right.
And, of course, kurvanti Benson standing to Martin's right on this third and short play.
And they go back to the well again, third time, they've ran this plane is family.
Rule attorney get inside.
And it is a first turnover of the game.
As Henry, ephemeral returned Benson inside, his teammates came in and forced a fumble and just like that.
McEachern, gets the ball first down and ten inside Marietta territory.
Let's take a look at the replay and you see Steve Benson here, just trying to get a little extra and the defense Pursuit was coming in making a very, very aggressive tackle.
And I think that's Rochester did starting d-tackle, who comes in there and just hits the ball from behind.
That's what When you run to the football, great defensive play, your lime senior quarterback, Michael Williams, stripping the ball, Andrew Tarver recovering and now the high-octane.
Indian offense takes the field.
They fake it to chub on play action and going through the air immediately to Malik Williams is Ty Clemens It'll be about a 10 yard gain on first down, just a little bit shy.
You take a look at Ty Clements numbers and clearly, this is a guy that can do it.
Both ways is, guys, definitely do it both ways.
He's actually one of my favorite players to watch in the state of Georgia at the quarterback position because he's so he's so Dynamic.
He can run it, he can pass it, he's a very good football player, there goes an easy cut before back, he gets shouldered out of Bounds at the 30 yard line, but it's good enough for a first down, let's take a look at the McEachern offense brought to you by Regions Bank, CJ norell, Leave those guys up front, very smart, young man, and look at the talent on the skill positions, Malik Williams, Elijah Van Dorn, Griffin Scott, and robbing robbing has been there.
Go to receiver so far early in the season.
He talked about the front line because, you know, we don't talk a lot about the lime, they don't get a lot of Pub.
But we're gonna spay talk a lot about them tonight because these guys have a valedictory on their front, lawn there is an interception by Marcus Bennett the to a star.
Was just on the field as an offensive player and now a tipped pass goes right into his arms and least two teams have now exchange turnovers and Marietta gets the ball back.
They try to throw a wide receiver screen on the outside.
The TJ rahming it's a bit high and it's picked.
This is a very nice athletic play by the cornerback minute.
There is somebody who has to be physical, he's very physical up front with the receiver, messing up the blocking scheme and it's a highball b. I Big Time Players make big time plays, a big-time games and they're going to need those type of plays.
Night to stay in it.
Here comes a reverse to Malthus.
He's got a lot of room on the outside.
Makes a nice stiff arm and goes out of bounds shy of Midfield.
And it's a late hit.
They'll tack on an extra 15 is ephemeral Rua is mix it up on the sideline with the host of Marietta Blue Devils and some guys come in late shoving including kurvanti Benson.
Yeah.
Totally.
Uncalled for their he was clearly out of bounds and trim.
I think the gentleman just pumping right now.
It's a very close-knit, nice of robbery game and Sometimes these kids emotions.
Get the best of honestly, I was a player before I was a player before, sometimes your emotions, get the better of you.
Very good.
I really like to see what they're doing on off inside a ball for Marietta that mixing up that they're having a nice little balance of of a Zone recombination with, with a little trickery.
It's a nine-yard gain plus an extra 15 yards in Marietta will.
Now have the football inside mceachin territory for the first time here in the early going.
And it's a very intimate atmosphere here as there's very little room on the sidelines.
So when tempers flare it heats up in a hurry and it goes in the favor of the Blue Devils this time they have first down and 10 at the 39 kilo.
Do you talk about very The silence like football games, like that fans on top of you.
This makes it feel a lot more people stayed and there's a little bit of a miscommunication as Britain.
Martin held the ball out and kurvanti Benson was not sure what side he was supposed to go on.
He's getting an earful from his coach right now.
Martin was forced to carry it, you lost a yard.
Yeah, that's what happens sometimes.
When you don't get the right call, it's loud as itself.
A big play there and the kitchen just made Took advantage of it, on the deep inside a ball.
And two tolerance, the d-tackle Stop.
And now the entire starting eleven for Marietta, taking a peek at the sidelines to get the play call from your coach on this second down and ten And the officials will blow it dead before it starts, it'll be a timeout for Marietta as they try to get their ducks in a row.
It was an interception by Marcus Bennett, followed by a nice run by on the end around by Jordan Matheson the 15-yard penalty.
But it's been a little sputtering since then.
Let's take a look at the Marietta resume.
This is a school that is steeped in Tradition and they still have the honor of being the only team from Cobb County to ever win a state championship back in 1967, 15 region championships.
The last ones in 2004 and 2005 and some great players have come through here.
Eric Zaire, Rex Robinson, also the great Georgia Tech kicker.
Scott Sisson also came through here and look at these guys who have coached here, Friday Richards, Dexter would the architect of the Buford program, Ray Broadway, and French Johnson who this field is named after there is a Of History here in Marietta Georgia.
I like to see the just found out.
There's Ian trick, Robinson.
Play here.
My Georgia guys, man.
It's really good to see.
See these guys come from, a really good Rich program that has a lot of history.
What do you think there?
Nellie now, you talk about that history and you'll also see a mixed in those banners Lemon Street.
Lemon Street, one the Gia title in 1967 and there's a big banner, a great part of the history here.
Lemon Street merge with Marietta High.
So you end up really with back the Back championships, if you can't lemon streets in 66 and Marietta's in 67.
Dropping back to throw his grit and Martin he's got all day.
Can't find a receiver to his liking and that's prints out and throws it down the sideline.
But there is a flag in the back field at the 44-yard Line pass.
Was intended for Jordan Mathis.
Let's check the penalty possibility of holding their quarterback.
Have a lot of time to scramble Secondary did a really good job staying and coverage their ancestors, call you call this coverage sack, they're very nice job by the secondary.
And you were right on the money, killing it was a holding.
They had to sustain those blocks for an awfully long time and they weren't able to do so.
So after the interception, the nice end around and the penalty, thanks to this penalty.
That will move the ball all the way, back into Marietta territory.
As we take a look at the meat replay.
You'll see the top of the screen, the hold on kurvanti, Benson holding McKinsey Billingsley.
Yeah, you can just see there but, you know, Benson had had a couple mistakes.
Got a fumble, the beginning of the game, on the first drive.
He just really have to calm down as coaches.
Really tough challenge.
It gives head in the game.
Little misdirection trap play to the outside and Benson gets back into McEachern territory, as he crosses Midfield, but he'll be well, shy of the first.
And it will bring up third down and very, very long.
This is a big third down coming up here.
As you can see, this team is Really Trying a lot of mix directional plays right here and it's working for them but you keep shooting themselves in the foot with what a little bit of holding.
You know little turnover with the fumble with their running back.
This is the big third down.
And it looks as if they're going to go empty backfield for the second time tonight.
You got to be where the pass rush here, as Billingsley.
And for Maura, the two defensive ends can get upfield in a hurry, and they'll go into round again.
And now, go pitch it back of the quarterback Martin.
He goes down the far sideline into double coverage and it's almost intercepted by TJ, rahming, and it's knocked out of bounds.
Incomplete will bring up fourth down a little trickeration there on a third down and long for the Blue Devils.
Very nice play by the safety.
Safety has become it.
3-3 in the middle feel he has a has a Crossing route dead on his toes.
And he flips It flips his Direction and then come up to make the big time Play to save that touchdown Rami.
As you see, they're coming up right there, trying to catch the ball at the high point.
It's a very good coverage.
You got both starting quarterbacks over there and coverage, Michael Williams, and Ramona Parsons.
And now, having to pump for the first time is Ian Shannon, he's one heck of a punter and this one will go into the end zone for a Touchback.
Don't think that's the last you'll hear of him.
That was a 50-yard punt.
He's also got a 50 plus yards.
His.
Well, he is probably their secret weapon will see if he becomes a Factor tonight.
Yeah, if coach is talking about talking about how How his first encounter with him and as you come up to him in the hall and say, hey, I'm in and I'm going to be your kicker of your team.
He's like, who are you?
And where do you come from?
Well, to be exactly, comes from Ireland.
He is a triplet And a very confident young man and rightfully.
So we saw him hitting 55 yard field goals in warm-ups and here's Taj Griffin for the first time tonight.
Picking up three yards on first down and we take a look at the Blue Devil.
Defense undersized guys, up front, but flood and Andrew Thomas will be at the defensive end positions their star player.
Ty Tomlin heading for North Carolina, holding down the middle linebacker position and they're very very fast on the outside.
You see Marcus Bennett number eight, the cornerback already with an interception.
Disco ball on the ground past can't handle it.
And now he tries to find the same and the Blue Devils closed in, on him in a hurry, and he'll lose yardage.
About five of them to be exact.
So it'll bring up third down and long, we said, how fast this Marietta defense was and they closed in, on taj Griffin in a hurry at times.
I don't think he was expecting to get the football there.
Just wasn't ready, Taj is by far, the most talented player, but he's nursing a sore ankle coach said he's probably about 80 85 percent.
So he'll be rotating in and out as the night goes along, you've got plenty of guys over there on the sidelines to spell Griffin.
When he does come out, like we said, this is a very high up.
An offense averaging about 40 points, a game coming in and there's a miscommunication in the backfield and now Type image, you'll have to carry himself and he wisely goes out of bounds so it doesn't get smacked by Tomlin.
And they'll be forced to punt.
Great job by the Marietta defense, to force the three and out.
It seems like a lot of confusion of both like unserious.
It was really going on in my office, the scheme, people not knowing their plays running backs, not getting the right protection.
Not knowing who's going to get the ball in this leaving a Quarterbacks out to dry these coaches, really have to get these players under control.
I know it's very high, volume potential, he's going great right now you know play it players are running on the field late, nobody's really into the game right now, this is not a good sign for both teams.
Dennis Dominguez in to punt from his own 6-yard line.
He's got plenty of time, the left for the kicker low wobbly, kick taken by Jordan Mathis, nice stiff arm inside, McEachern territory, another nice, move around the 40 yard line and a great return by Jordan Mathis who seen him a couple times.
Tonight on the end around he does a good job of putting the part, they're pretty 3, yard punt, 14 yard return and we'll take a break 629 to go.
It's a scoreless affair here from northcut Stadium.
Don't go anywhere.
A lot of football to be played here on football.
Fridays on the great GPB.
First quarter, scoreless, here in Cobb County, city of Marietta northcut Stadium.
This is a huge region, 46 a battle, McEachern won their region.
Her last week.
But unfortunately, for the Blue Devils, they fell to Hillgrove and so they're behind the 8-ball, they really need a win here tonight.
The contenders in this region really are McEachern, Hillgrove Marietta, and North Cobb Harrison's.
Also, got a pretty good football team, so Marietta can ill afford to fall 2012 in the region and of course McEachern comes into this game Keelan as the number two team in the state.
Yeah they have a bull's-eye on the head, you know.
And you know this game was 29 to 28 last year and you got You got to remember, this is a lot of deep and attention to detail on both sides of the ball here for both teams and these coaches know this going to be a bought a fight.
There comes Benson through the middle out of the pistol formation needs slung To The Ground by number 98 Mackenzie Billingsley.
But picks up seven eight yards on first down very Shifty player in traffic.
There's a nice shot of it here you see those offensive lineman blocking their very good upfront defense the in they're coming up the Kinsey making the tackle while being Then there's a wonderful hit in the hole before kurvanti Benson can pick up the first down.
Making the nice tackle.
Is number 28, fits Whatley, the linebacker As you see, can see on the edge coming.
They're getting block.
And also in on the tackle again, one thing I the vision one coach is going to look at number one.
How high is he playing and a defensive end position?
Do you play this position?
You know, exactly.
Does he use his hands?
Well, absolutely.
And Candy makeup play while getting blocked and Mackenzie definitely can do those 30 short let's see.
If they give The Talented Junior running back the ball Hill.
He'll stay in the block bill.
Go to the air.
There's good Mathis.
Tim.
Jordan Mathis from the junior.
Britain Martin and the Blue Devil strike.
First very nice check by the quarterback Martin.
Making sure he finds Jordan Matthews on the nice quick slant.
It was a zero coverage by the secondary all-out, Blitz by the defense and they only had one guy standing in the middle and that was the middle linebacker.
Spying on the quarterback and he found the right match up enjoyed Mathis on a nice quick.
Slant up the middle for a touchdown very nice play the enchanted in to attempt the point after and it is good in Marietta jumps out to a 7 to nothing lead.
You might say a risky, move on third down in one but you'll take a look at our tcsg touchdown.
Replay standing in the pocket is Brett and Martin and it's a strike to Jordan.
Mathis coach talked about George Max and talked about how well he really likes his kid and he has good.
Pedigree of Father played nine years in the NFL.
He's the number one athlete on this team and he really plays his best position as a defensive back position.
But they really feed us so much for a team.
They really need them on the receiving side of the ball and you saw there Brett.
And Martin took a big hit from Henry ephemeral, he does a great job showing poised to strike And in the pocket, and deliver the pass.
Our tcsg scoring drive three plays 39 yards of minute and eight seconds set up by the nice V. Georgia Mathis return.
So he helps himself and gets into the endzone.
That is, God does a lot for this team.
You better Gatorade up buddy because you have a low night.
So when we should get a look for the first time tonight at the big leg of Ian, Shannon as he gets set to kick off here.
For the first time tonight, seven to nothing Marietta, 5:21 to go in the first quarter for a McDaniel Keelan Johnson and John Nelson with the on football Fridays in Georgia, all sides.
I talked about this play here.
Try talked about the number one Play.
I Love of football is the kickoff.
They're trying to outlaw it.
What, what, what I really didn't like about about that play.
If you're offsides, you gotta come back and kick it again.
I'm telling it was the only play I got playing ball at Georgia.
My first two years.
So, I was running full speed down the field, but if anybody was outside yet, turn around and do it again, and that's just going to happen with these guys.
Do it again.
Now, I don't think Ian Shannon can't put it in the end zone, still?
See the offside player at the very bottom of your screen there.
And so we have a good old-fashioned do-over.
Taj Griffin back, keep your seed for the Indians and Chang kicking off.
And it will sail into the end zone for the Touchback, despite the penalty.
So, McEachern trailing 7 to nothing will start first and 10 from the 20 yard line.
And on their first possession of the game Keeling it was a interception and then it was followed by a three and out.
So the McEachern Indians have not been able to get into a groove on offense, just yet.
We have to give ourselves really have to find will really work for them.
Put the put the ball in your quarterback hands, run the ball with chub, see what you can get with them.
Test his defense because the defense has a little struggle.
They only really have one one big time player on their defensive ball and that's time.
They really Tom excuse me.
They really had to challenge him and get everybody else upon find a match ups on off inside a ball and makes you win.
Here is chub out of the pistol trying to run behind blockers and there's that.
Manti Tom along with several other dark blue jerseys coming up to wrap up the fullback.
He just got back to the line of scrimmage so it'll be second down and ten and it looks like this Blue Devil defense came to play aquiline and it definitely came to play.
Making sure that They wrap up, not not.
Miss the tackle too many tackles out there.
You know, this, I'm telling you these coaches have have came down in the say, hey, look.
We have a challenge on our on our side tonight.
Can you guys step up to the table?
Lists the number two, team.
In the state.
You guys have to bring your A game.
And going deep to the air.
Let's tie Clemens, he's got a man, it's TJ rahming, to the 30-yard line.
It's a footrace he gone touchdown TJ rahming 80 yards on second down and 10.
We wanted to know if McEachern could find their groove.
It took them two plays but they did.
This is why I tackling one of my favorite players in the state of Georgia to watch.
I got a chance to see him in the Corky Kell classic and this guy was just electrifying it, see this beautiful ball, he has a nice tart targeted TJ rhyming.
He's the best receiver on his team.
TJ 4 touchdowns called back this year, for touchdowns called back this year on punt, returns and kickoff returns, but they finally connect it.
And as you can, Till reason why he's their number one down, receiving side, Dennis Dominguez, boots, a low line, or through for the p80, we're knotted up at 72 piece and here's your tcsg touchdown replay.
It's a beaut Sally sits in the pocket sets his feet square.
Shoulders up in this.
Let his receiver run right up on the ball.
Great pass by receiver and catch.
Here's another great shot of it.
A beautiful throw.
I think the best throw that I've seen Ty, Clemens make so far this year.
And TJ, rahming continues to show you why he is Clemens favorite Target 80-yard touchdown or knotted up at seven apiece.
We talked about the one-on-one matchup straight, we talked about how how am I keeping really stands out on the receiving Court?
This secondary of Marietta is going to have two hands, full all night, and I bet your coach coach wish he had his number one guy Malik excuse not to leak.
But it's number one guy Jordan Matthews on the corner quarterback position.
Tonight, but he just physically, can't because this guy does a lot for our tcsg scoring drive to plays 80 yards, a mere 51 seconds.
And the media has kicked off and they'll go high and tight.
Marcus Bennett takes to get the 30 and falls down after gaining two or three yards.
So now it's Marietta's turned to come back and we've seen what both of these offenses can do and healing.
We knew coming into this football game despite the Marietta lost last week to Hillgrove.
You know they were the number 10 team in the state going into last week.
They fell out of the top 10 with the loss but this is a team that can contend for a region championship.
And we've seen so far in the early going of the first quarter that if they are clicking on all cylinders, this could be a fourth quarter, nail-biter type of football game.
You look is a big-time robber here.
You know, we talked about what the score was last last year that it's just meant to keep your team only won by one point but went down to the Buckle last quarter.
So these teams go and marry other definitely has some They just have to find what works for.
There's Benson up the middle, he lowers his shoulder nice tough running as it continues to push the pile for a first down and a couple more before they whistle him.
Dead at the 45-yard line.
11 12 yards on first down by kurvanti Benson and you just saw a glimpse of what this young man is all about, just a junior 58 hundred and ninety pounds came into the game with 350 yards on the ground watching lower his shoulder.
This is Straight Lead right up the Middle with a what agar pulling around open up the whole form and it's I like how he runs the ball north-south and does a great job.
There's another good shot of it Keeling immediately getting the ball and turning up field and picking up four yards on first down.
And the one thing about this McEachern offense is that it is a pick, your poison.
They're going to line up in the pistol and they are going to sling the ball around.
But they can run it between the tackles if they need to.
And rolling out to throw Jordan Mathis.
It's incomplete as his right foot came down on the sideline so it'll be an incomplete pass and bring up third down and six.
Take a look at the replay.
This is a very nice roll out.
Well that pass is just couldn't get his feet down.
That's a wonderful shot of it hats off to our crew for capturing that as math is so far.
Him and Vincent have been the focal point for this Marietta team, they're changing some Personnel, to some degree here before third down.
And if rhotic Jordan Mathis wide receiver screen to the outside.
And again, a nice stiff arm, he goes out of Bounds at the 49 yard line.
It's a pick up of just one yard in boy.
I thought they could have thrown a flag right there.
Henry.
Femme, au revoir jumped into the neutral zone but I don't see a flag.
I'll tell you right now, Matt's is gonna need a nice ice tub bath tonight.
This game is like the fifth time hitting the fence today.
Here you see number 15 Henry femoral?
Ah yeah.
Trying to time the snap and apparently he timed it perfectly because we didn't see a flag but it was a mere one-yard gain.
And now at the last second Marietta will exchange personnel and they'll punt Ian Shannon.
Once again, his first punt was 50 yards and here's another Beauty.
And boy what a punt is it pulls up at the one yard line and they'll touch it dead at the to a 47-yard punt.
Great punt by hand Nature's special, presentation of earthflight continues this week on GPB watch as Condors treat us to a tour of the Andes and the Amazon hummingbirds feet at one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world and vultures Ride The Thermals over Rio de Janeiro the best part.
It's all from a bird's eye view and it's truly amazing footage.
You will not want to miss it.
It's this Wednesday at 8:00.
Coast talked to by Ian and how well he kicks the tuft about.
Also he's a better Hunter than he is placekicker.
It's just a interesting statement.
As you can see there, he's very athletic.
What his leg pinned, the ball down there, and then when you're online, well, coach, birdie, told us this week, he said he is very conscientious about the Special Teams game, and he beats this, into his players on a weekly basis.
He demands of them that they win the Special Teams battle each week and before McEachern can get there first, Playoff there is a flag.
It'll be a delay of game, a half, the distance penalty.
Keep in mind there in the black Zone.
This is what we call Black zone of black Zone.
Has high potential of high-pass deep balls.
Tied in pop pass, Longstreet passes to the receivers and you won't see this very often but under Center is the quarterback for McEachern tie Clemens.
It's a nice hard count and it'll be a safety for Marietta coming in to make the tackle is senior Lawton Ward, and he just put two points up on the board.
Blue Devils.
Talk about making great.
Great defensive plays when you get a chance to score on defense, that is so much icing on the cake, so much icing on the cake, look at this is defense is getting penetration into the backfield.
As you see number one there, that man got a heart and soul of this team of this defense.
Tied back there.
Making the tackle for a tfl with number 21.
They're starting linebacker lot more.
So you get two points for a safety.
Give one of them, the number one and one of them to Lawton Ward.
There's they just helped out their team big time.
Anytime you can put points on the board as a defense.
It's something that makes a coach smile from ear to ear and McEachern with the safety takes the lead 927.
Let's kick it downstairs to John Nelson, John.
And obviously the man directly responsible for that was the punter.
First thing coach Burton did.
He went over to and slapped him on the side of the helmet said.
Job man, good job because by that punt, getting down to the, to add the penalty, two points on the board, and they got a chance for seven more.
Good stuff Nelly.
We appreciate that and he really makes a great point and his coach did the right thing congratulating his kicker.
We just talked about special teams being an X Factor for Marietta and it's proven to be.
So thus far, Keelan, yes, it really has.
You have to be able to make sure the special team plays crisp is as clean because it's very important in the football game.
We don't talk about it much.
But it's very important.
So the free kick for McEachern.
Dominguez will take the free Kick Back deep to receive the football is kurvanti Benson and Jordan Mathis who have both been busy on the offensive side so far tonight for the Blue Devils.
It's a nice high spiral taken by Mathis at the 30-yard line.
He's got some room Benson up front.
Trying to block.
He tries to kick it to the outside.
Reverses field and nice coverage there by McEachern Mill drought.
At the 36 yard line.
So, 307 to go in the first quarter.
That's Games, been everything.
We thought it would be 927 Marietta with the early lead.
You see a good shot of Coach Scott Burton coaching up the Blue Devils over their fourth year.
Coach long, time player and coach for the University of Richmond.
This defense has to come out and be very physical with this offense right now.
You see a lot of a lot of players on the Marietta offense, going back and forth.
Playing both sides of the ball.
Let's see if they can take advantage of you.
There's Benson up inside.
you gets tackled by the big sophomore number 99, Julian, Rochester six-foot-five, 280 pounds, landing hard down on number 20.
There will be a gain of 4.
And a shotgun formation this time.
And again to Benson as they try to establish the Run nice stuff.
Running once again for Benson as he bulldozes his way close to the 45 yard line, You can see see the zarthans attack of those big boys up front, Andrew and Julie raque Rockefeller.
Those guys just get penetrations office line, doing a great job up front, making sure that move those change.
Not a big offensive line for Marietta but they're certainly getting the job done and it doesn't hurt to have the junior kurvanti, Benson carrying the load.
He's done a great job tonight.
Again in the pistol formation for the Blue Devils, they go play action, they're looking for Tomlin and now Brett Martin pulls it down and family ruined Billingsley Collide and Converge on him at the 40 yard line for Morrow with his first sack of the night.
And that will be his fourth on the season.
We spotlighted, those guys at the beginning, Keelan number 15 and number 98, you have to Count for those guys on every play.
Especially on third down.
Now, you definitely give those guys some time.
They're going to get.
They're gonna make a play happen in that backfield they're long.
They're linky and they're strong and very good range and that's what you really want out of defensive end, great play by Henry.
And he and Shannon, will have to come in and kick.
This is the deepest, he's had to punt from, and it's his worst punt by far.
A wobbly kick.
That'll land down out of bounds around the 35.
Yard line will see where the official spots at, as he continues to run up the sideline.
And he'll say that it went out of Bounds at the 45 yard line.
So that's just a net of 15 yards after a 50-yard Punt and a 47-yard punt, just a 15 yard punt.
So good field position to start here for McEachern.
The kitchen has a chance right now.
They have a chance to get themselves.
Get something going.
Get the juices going again.
Let's take a look here at the McEachern resume.
It's pretty eye-popping, if you look at it and study, it 2012 region Champs 15th region championships.
Overall, each of these teams has 15 region, titles, third region, title in four years, four straight playoff appearances.
They've 19 are more games from 85 to 90 9, of course courts.
Jimmy, Dorsey, the architect of this And when he was here, he really put in the kitchen on the map and Coach, Kyle Hockman has taken over the reins of done, a phenomenal job.
This defense here to good job by the defensive end.
Andrew Thomas coming up making some confusion in the backfield, getting on top of tie there.
Hey, this defense fired up tonight.
I really, I really like to see aggressive defense.
Most importantly, they have a great challenge upon them upon their hands tonight.
Number two team in the state at home.
Let's see what we can do.
Guys, play action out of the pistol.
Climbing steps up.
Looks finds a guy at the 45 yard line.
That's Elijah Van Dorn his first Of the night and based on where they're spotting it.
He'll be about a half a yard shy of a first down, those are nice job in traffic for tie Clemens Define the open, Elijah Van Dorn, but there is a flag on the play and Kailyn.
What do you always say every week as soon as an offense starts to find their groove, sometimes they shoot themselves in the foot.
Those kind of things Drive the coaches, crazy, eggsy.
They're pulling out.
The group Jersey grabbing them from behind there.
That's a, no, no, you can't do that.
So, what was going to be third down and a half, a yard second down and 18, same formation as tie Tomlin threatens Blitz, and he'll come up the middle Clemens, gets rid of it.
It's almost picked off and that would have been a pick.
Six jumping, the route is number, 21, Lawton, Ward who just scored the safety.
And if he catches When he's taking it to the house.
Go stuffed bun, lot more to talk about.
He's always around the football and there he is.
His hands on the ball, plus 2 times tonight.
As he's around the football, coming up, making the big tackle for the safety and right here, almost a Pick 6.
You gotta catch those baby.
You gotta take catch.
Those gotta be a game-changer walking toward up, a third year.
Starter played inside, linebackers a sophomore.
And now, as a senior is moved to the outside, he's made his presence known so far tonight.
As komlin Blitz this time, Clemens throwing Sideline again, again, looking for robbing, they scored on this play earlier and it's intercepted at the 15, yard line by number three, Kadeem Wallington.
That's just as good as a punt and so Marietta will take over on the third turnover of the game.
You go to free stuff.
Free.
Stand, strong safety to Dean is getting bet.
They're running tic for tack with the receiver and tied, just threw the ball up there a little bit too much when you throw it and cover.
Sometimes the defense comes down with it was great.
Job by the safety.
There, khadeem no harm in running that play on Third and very long healing.
Because if it gets picked off, its just as good as a punt, Dennis Dominguez would have been hard-pressed to punt the ball that deep into Marietta territory with his leg.
But it is our third turnover and we're still 10 seconds to go before the end of the first quarter 927, nice ball game Friday, nights Georgia public broadcasting.
It doesn't get any better.
There's been some a Brandis play a few times and boy that young man runs hard and they're just now taking him to the ground.
Julian, Rochester loses all 280 of his pounds to Usher, the junior running back out of bounds and I'm very impressed so far from what I see from kurvanti Benson, that's the end of the first quarter.
It's been a back and forth Affair, couple touchdowns in a safety and right now, the home team's got the advantage here at their historic Stadium.
927 Marietta on football.
Fridays, in Georgia on Georgia Public Broadcasting.
I am, yeah.
Now you've probably heard by now.
This is not any High School stadium.
We're broadcasting from tonight.
Northcut stadium is a historic stadium and I talk to the players.
This week through social media, they told me they wouldn't rather play their High School football, anywhere else.
So tonight we're coming to you with some trivia.
We want you to tell us what year, this stadium was built grab that phone, that iPad that laptop, tweet us, find us on Facebook.
Let us know what your northcut stadium was built.
I'll give you a few hints.
It was the year before, the u.s. entered World War Two.
It was the year Gone With the Wind won eight, Oscars and of year McDonald's opened their first restaurant in San Bernardino California.
How about Now that McDonald's.
All right, get to social media.
Let us know what the answers will come back to in the fourth quarter and the winner will receive a football Fridays and Georgia t-shirt.
Sending it to you guys in the booth.
Thanks Grace, I'm up here doing the math right now.
I have an answer for you shortly.
So as we get ready to start the second quarter, 12 minutes Around the Clock, the home team has an advantage 927 and they've got the ball second down and five from their own 22 pistol formation for Britain Martin.
And he goes to his go-to guy for Vontae Benson.
He has stood up by a host of McEachern Indians including number for Glenn Frazier, the middle linebacker you could tell they rely a lot on this young man.
He does a great job for him moving the chains.
You know tonight seven minutes 39 seconds on offense for Marietta and it's a reason why they've been running the ball time of possession, Rakesh from four minutes and 21 seconds of time of possession.
They rely a lot on the run, then some so far tonight, 11 carries for 56 yards.
But they go empty backfield here on third.
And a long for last time.
They did this, they picked up the first down on the slant to Jordan Mathis.
And there is famine Rua who I thought should have been called for a defensive offsides, a few moments ago.
And here, he does have a flag thrown on him and that should be good enough based on the spot for a Marietta first down, let's see if they move the sticks and they are.
So it's a first down by virtue of the famine Rua, jumping off sides, a good defensive end times that out.
Just right.
And they finally caught him with his hand in the cookie jar.
Yes.
Around by the second Order.
They kind of get pick up on the Caps.
Now, the camps, that counts now of the quarterback and try to get a jump on the ball.
That's that's that's a very tricky, tricky position to play.
It's not time to continue down in the trenches.
You can't see.
Here's Benson trying the outside.
He's tackled by number 24 Pony linebacker.
Justin Pendleton.
It's a modest gain of about a yard and a half.
Pursuit.
This defense is starting to get a little bit better.
The kitchen is starting to run to the boundary of the football.
They really Mariela really loves to run the football in the boundary.
The reason why teams really attack the boundary of the other field because it's the short side.
Uses the weak side of the defense and they had a lot of successful tonight.
Benson on Pace to touch the ball about 40 times tonight, with a morula flushing Martin out of the pocket and he tries to throw, it depends in and he drops it.
Tried to turn up field.
A little prematurely, but he had some green pasture in front of him if he would have caught that football.
Yeah.
They're very nice pressure on the outside but a defense in Henry this is what you really like to see.
We've got getting after it in that the quarterback.
This guy does not give up.
You have to have pressure and that kind of altered the past and try to do an impromptu and run it back.
Was not ready for that past.
Third and eight now upcoming from the 29-yard line and it looks like once again as they have on third down every time tonight, they go, empty backfield.
So it's squarely on the shoulders of the junior quarterback.
Brett, and Martin.
Because of a cup of to look Here, Come Those defensive ends and there's the second sack of the Night by Henry femen Rua.
He's been harassing Breton Martin all night long.
He just got his second sack and we're only two minutes into the second quarter.
The Kinsey on the left Henry on the right.
These guys help each other when you have to deep aggressive defensive ends, it makes it push our offense offense of line in the find, a left tackle.
The right tackle are definitely nervous and they want to make sure they The quarterback time but these two guys are Relentless, they're doing a great job tonight.
The founder of sack forces.
Ian Shannon to punt once again and it's a wobbly kick taken at the 30 yard line by TJ.
Rahming and he does a good job, falling forward a 43-yard punt he'll go down at the 37 yard line.
Call at the 38-yard line will be first down and ten for McEachern, right there and the kitchens defense stepped up big right there Keeling.
And both these teams are starting to settle in.
Man is really good.
You know, this first quarter, you still trying to fit Your your ball game if you're game playing out.
Now, these teams are really selling into the meat and potatoes of their schemes and now you can really get to see some really good football, it's 97 Marietta, the kitchens down right now, but we know they have some good offensive weapons on the teaching side of the ball and see what they can do.
Taj Griffin checks in they fake it to him and carrying the ball is coming.
He does this very well as he picks up close to five yards, goes down just shy of the 45 yard line and boy King.
And when Tosh Griffin's in the game number seven, the defense would be foolish not to key on him and it really opens up the rest of the game.
Yeah, he's definitely a eye opener for the defense.
He's pressed to feel he can do a little bit in the running game for you.
He can definitely help you out in the flats of the passing game.
You know, when he's healthy this guy, this guy could play.
And there he is, he's only at 85-percent because of the twisted ankle Lawton, Ward tackles him.
At the 48 yard line, he needed to get to the 48 yard line for a first down and it is good enough and this is a great replay coming right at you.
Look at the speed here and number seven Coast, talk about his high ankle sprain.
He's only playing at 88% and for him to be out on the football field with a high ankle string.
That says a lot about his toughness says a lot about his great.
It says a lot about his 12.
Here he is again, they run the same play, they ran on the previous first, down this time, for the near side, and a nice run there by Clemens.
And it's a second first down in a row and Clement shows you what he can do with his feet on a 14-yard.
Carry that you see these big boys up front getting out there.
Antonio Valentine's CJ making sure they make the right blocks.
Clear the hole for the running back.
You see big 77 there.
This guy has offers from everybody in the world.
Yeah, big Q money.
Doga 63 to lose 75 pounds as an offer from UGA and looks like they were trying to run the option, Clemens keeps it, he finally pitches it.
There's our guy Taj Griffin inside 20, 10 5 touchdown number 7 as he looks back and see if anybody's coming 38 yards for Taj Griffin.
Talking them up Keel and he didn't disappoint.
This young man is very electrifying, very electrifying.
As you can see, this is straight pitch, option plate for Ty and can see his offensive linemen out there blocking.
And he's a hate, being an athlete, get pitching it to his number one, guy Taj Griffin, he cuts back across the field for the touchdown.
We got a player down back at the 30-yard line, hard to tell who it is but here's a great look or tcsg touchdown replay as it looked like an option and the quarterback and the running back kept that pitch relationship.
Yeah.
It's very, very important for you to just make sure you keep that relationship down the field because hey, Todd was tackled.
The tide has been an athlete that he is, keeping his eyes up and making sure his running back is right there.
And that's Ty.
Tom.
When he was down for Marietta, he's the heart and soul this football team.
He backs up to different positions on offense and he's a North Carolina bound middle linebackers.
So Marietta can ill afford to lose him and that's what we're waiting on.
Can't kick the p80 until the senior gets off the field.
It is nice to see him up walking off the field on his own power.
You see his measurables there 6-foot 225 pounds.
He is a senior three-year starter been on Varsity since he was a freshman.
He leads the team with 25 total tackles coming in and he is the emotional leader of the Blue Devil team Yeah, this guy has a lot of grit I like, I like how he plays.
It's pretty much on every tackle, but hope he's feeling a little bit better and get on the sidelines and get back in this game.
And so now, Dennis Dominguez will attempt the p80 McEachern is recaptured.
The lead 8:47, trying to push it to 8:46 our tcsg scoring drive for plays, 62 yards in a mirror minute and 17.
The Dominguez kick is up and good.
Its 8:45 and McEachern.
Wimba.
Keep one of the cases is playing on, all levels of football are very tough to beat very, very tough to be in office.
Out of all, it's all entire Clemens hands when he went on makes the right decisions.
This offense clicks when he makes the wrong decisions, this often suffers and it's such a different team.
When Taj Griffin is on the field, even if he's just a decoy Keelan, but there we saw him really coming into his own for the first time.
I think coach ha His toying around with sitting him maybe for a game or two, just to try to let him get healthy.
But right now, despite being at 85%, having the high ankle sprain, he's contributing in a major way.
So far tonight with 811 to go before half what he talked about.
He said he has no plans to plan this week and to see what he'd do.
If the kid go, so be it, but he was going to sit him down next couple weeks to come there, so he can get his feedback on her just so he can get back in the pool balls.
Shaking tonight looks like he's in good shape to me.
The new series genealogy Roadshow debuts this week.
Part, detective Story Part, emotional Journey, history, and science combined to uncover the fascinating stories of diverse Americans unverified.
Genealogical plans, put to the test family lore set straight unwrap the history and mystery Mondays at 10:00 on GPB.
And what a great atmosphere it is here tonight, peeling, historic northcut Stadium.
We talked a lot about how the fans are right on top of the sidelines.
Very intimate setting, you know, Keel and I'm an old school guy.
I love this kind of stuff.
Yeah, man is very good atmosphere.
People are standing on the side of the walls.
Pack on the Marietta side is packed, going to be, keep inside as well.
This is what high school football is all about.
That's why you watch Georgia.
The broadcast and you never been anywhere else and lyric look at kurvanti Benson after the Squid kick.
They're trying to pin him deep but it blows up in their face.
A 31-yard return for kurvanti up to the 35 yard line, but the flag all the way back at the 12th.
That normally means hold or block in the back.
It is a hold and it is on Marietta, it will nullify a great return from kurvanti Benson and it looks like for the first time tonight.
Marietta on offense, is going to be backed up deep.
What would the game football?
Be without Flags bad?
We've seen a lot of them this year to really have we seen a lot of flags is still the beginning of the Season.
You know they're starting to get into region playing it like we talked about earlier man it matters.
Now these are the The game to shoot when you get into the meat and potato wedges schedule, you want to make sure that you eliminate those flags, that's what makes Alabama.
So, great Alabama, does a great job of being disciplined, you have to be disciplined.
It's just, it's just a bad mistake by blocking in the back there, so they'll back it all the way up to the 6 yard line.
It was going to be out to the 35 yard line.
So, a 29-yard difference in field position and in the shotgun is Brenton Martin.
And here is another flag.
It could be, I heard you, whisper, it Keelan might be a delay of game.
Yeah, man, it doesn't take much man.
When you sit, there you paying attention to, to your coach and trying to get the played from the from the quarterback and whoop, here comes the flag.
Yep, delay of game that drives you crazy to as a coach because you're just coming off a penalty of had more than enough time to Iron things out and you get the delay of game already after a stoppage of play.
I've seen that happen so many times this year.
This will understand.
I understand you have a lot of checks, you get the check from your coaches on the sidelines.
But here in another flag, you getting you getting place from your coaches on the sidelines there.
But you have to know if your old seat, your quarterback has to happen play.
So it's no need for him.
This look on the sidelines, give him to play, run the football, and let's get this thing going.
So after a false start, that's back-to-back penalties on the Blue Devils back-to-back, half the distance, to the goal calls.
And so they were going to be out here to the Third Five yard line after the nice Benson return and now they're backed up first down and forever from their own one, here comes Benson up inside and he's lucky to not be dropped for a safety as well.
And getting up after the big hit is the big defensive end number 15.
Henry, Familia.
That guys, look at those pipes on that guy there, man.
That's huge player that baby.
I like that.
Like some, I just carved his body, his chiseled him up.
Somebody loves the right room at McEachern.
I can see that, absolutely.
And they've got one of the most beautiful ones in the state, and the snap goes out of the back of the end zone, if they didn't blow that dead.
That's a safety and it is.
So each team with the safety tonight, and another miscue on offense for Marietta penalty penalty.
A one-yard run, and then a snap out of the back of the end zone.
They tried to go shotgun and the center, and the quarterback were not on the same page, not a very good call.
By the, by the offensive coordinator there.
You have to get yards.
Get your, get your There's some some space back there so they can really get ready to get some space to move the ball down the field.
What about Gretchen was not ready.
Mr. Martin was not ready for the snap him in the center, not on the same page.
So not often you see a safety in a ballgame and even less likely than the quarter and a half of football.
You'll see to.
That's what we have so far tonight, it's 8:44.
McEachern.
Marietta's really stole the momentum in had it for a while.
They all through the first quarter and part of the second but shoot themselves in the foot with these killer these and now I'm another safety.
Second take care of the game and keeping the scene.
They're out there in front now and you saw written Martin, not even near ready to take that snap as he throws his arms, up to the side to say to his Center.
Is that all about obviously a miscommunication.
We've seen miscommunications from quarterbacks and running backs and centers offer both of these football teams as the night has worn on And yes, it's early in the season, but this is game four for each of these teams things that the coaching staff would like for them to have sorted out already.
The number one thing and try to Camp.
What you do you just hate you work on the center.
Quarterback exchange beautiful free kick taken at the 19 yard line by TJ.
Rahming, he's got a little bit of a scene, he's taken down at the 39 yard line.
Let's throw it down stairs to John Nelson Nelly.
And some technical issues on the sidelines, will get back to Nelly momentarily, 8:44, McEachern with the lead 727 to go before half.
It's been a back and forth Affair Marietta jumped out to the seven nothing lead.
McEachern has come roaring back, a nice 80-yard, touchdown to TJ, rahming.
In the first quarter, has been there highlight, and here's Taj Griffin, who scored their last touchdown.
Showing some Nifty moves down to the 47 yard line.
Let's try to go downstairs to John Nelson again Nelly when you know the Gremlins and keep after us after Friday the 13th anyway here in the memory of the sidelines was paying attention to coach Burton.
First thing he did after the safety call was bring his interior lineman the center and the two guards in just to talk them through everything and calm down.
There's a long way to go in the game.
Biggest thing he was maintaining everything's cool just sort it out.
Remember why you're here we'll get it.
All figured out, don't worry about it that all day to throw for Clemens.
He's got robbing at the T-that's caught five.
Touchdown robbing 54 yards, he's got an 80 yarder and now he's got a 54-yard her in its own McEachern right now with 642 to go before, half-time, beautiful, pitch and catch from Clemens to rahming.
That's a very nice pitch and catch.
As you say there, Trey, these two guys have an extremely really good relationship, Here's your high CSG replay kill and take us through tied to sit in the pocket having some time created.
It's just basically a nice go route.
My guy better than your guy.
Mark is Binet just couldn't keep up the receiver on the outside and hey, nice touchdown pass.
Another sportsmanlike conduct and they'll enforce that one on the kickoff.
So Dennis Dominguez will come in to attempt and extend the lead to 8:37.
So it was a pretty close game.
But all of a sudden here in a matter of a couple of minutes, A Taj Griffin, touchdown a safety.
And now a TJ rahming touchdown and it could be 8:37 McEachern.
They're showing you either.
The number two, team in the state, The see some type of breakdown in a secondary mayor defense just playing good one play.
Next play, they play Bad.
Bad angle making plays in the backfield.
Great disruption.
Next play you giving up, they have to be a little bit more consistent on the defensive side of the ball.
The order to win this football game and the Lefty puts it up in through.
So it's 8:37 Nine McEachern.
They've got all the momentum right now, despite the home field advantage for Marietta, don't go anywhere 642 to go before half-time on football Fridays.
8:37 second quarter McEachern, has gained momentum and they are showing you either the number 22, In the state, you see a good shot of TJ.
Rahming over there on the sidelines.
Has popped two big touchdown passes from his quarterback type lemons, the scoring Drive brought to you by tcsg to plays 61 yards and there you see his numbers to receptions 134 and two scores.
Hey I want to bring this up.
The number one quarterback in the nation, DeShaun Watson and feel free to chime in Nellie from Gainesville.
We saw a few weeks back, we cover his game and and I want to talk about and I want to talk about Ty, Clemens tiebreak.
Is a lot to the table.
You could, he can do it with his feet and he could do it with his arm with what I've seen tonight.
I think these two are hand in hand.
I think Ty Clemens deserved a little bit more credit.
Well, well, let's well think about what we're looking at when it comes to the two different, quarterbacks you're talking about two different styles of athlete into Shawn, you have the the Cam Newton sighs Zone read, option quarterback who can hit you both ways.
And here tonight, you're seeing a quarterback who's not as big but just as athletic it can hit you with.
It can hit you with an arm, and he's got a great reading can think in three dimensions.
I think that body type kind of lends you to certain things when it comes to certain universities and how you're looking for quarterbacks because DeShaun Watson heading to Clemson.
So that's the kind of athlete that they're looking for in the ACC in the SEC.
But here tonight, you're seeing a different kind of athlete.
Who's got the skate.
The same skill set.
Yeah, we see his bio upon the stream.
Syracuse Buffalo Georgia, Southern Massachusetts Louisville Kentucky.
That's exactly what John is talking about.
And that's really because of the height, he's only six foot one, these big-time division, one schools, nowadays are looking for the six foot four, 220 plus pounder.
And that's what DeShaun Watson is but I completely agree with you right now.
Kahlan, I think Ty Clemens is having the kind of game that the folks over in Powder Springs.
Expected from him and just four games into the season now, really three games in a quarter and a half.
He's really starting to show you why he is the guy that this offense funnels through.
You look, you look at Aaron Murray took the quarterback for the University of Georgia.
He's like six foot himself so I don't get caught up in the hype thing and or 2 Star 3 star Rivals I don't really ever I could care less about that.
What I really like these kids come out here on this football field and put their heart and soul into the game.
I don't care.
If you're five foot five you the best football player on the football field, you should get opportunity and that's one thing I really don't like about recruiting the you know it does it's a money maker right now at the ESPN the Yahooza to all the, all these accolades as good and dandy.
But what's what matters?
What goes on between these white lines out here?
And when these Friday nights, come on, that's what people want to see.
They want to see production because I play with a lot of guys, at the next level that were that were 45 stars and they end up being nothing.
When I got to school very well, said, partner Clemens, 447, 146 yards, and two touchdowns also has a couple interceptions, but his team's up 8:37 and Dominguez kicks off her Vontae.
Benson.
Jordan math is back deep.
It'll Math is at the 19-yard line and he finds a seam.
He's into the open and goes down at the 42 yard line.
Let's return to 23 yards and it sets up.
Good field position for Marietta math is just one.
Tackle away from taking it to the house, man.
He's electrifying.
I really like to see him out here.
This team really, relied heavy on Mathis and I you can really see why.
Yeah, we've seen him already catch a big.
First down, pass back in the first quarter.
He took it to the house for a touchdown.
That's how Marietta gained the lead early.
But as of late it's been all McEachern.
Seems like we've already played two or three quarters of football, but still 635 to go before half-time and Marietta has plenty of time to try and answer back.
Civic each has been playing in this cover to funnel shelled.
Have been doing a great job of disguising their coverage and they actually wrote a safety to the middle of the field and the White Sox.
Safety is a planet covered in quarters, so it's a false start on Marietta.
A lot of penalties so far on Marietta, that's how they shot themselves on the foot on their previous possession back-to-back penalties, pushed him back and then they finally gave up a safety a lot of time to throw at least initially and I can't sling him to the ground and I'll have to throw it away.
Looking over here on the near side, for number three, Kadeem Wallington.
And there's a flag over at the 33-yard line, could be intentional grounding.
We'll see, we're trying to sort things out right now.
It's a face mask on McEachern and that's just a 5-yard penalty and so that will help Marietta get some of the penalty yardage back from their false start and it helps erase what was a pretty wacky play.
Yeah, Makita is doing a great job of getting some pressure on these, on his offense, getting penetration up the middle and also on the outside from, they're both both of their defensive ends, man, I have a hard time to finish it.
First down and 10, Martin to pass, Sprint's out to the left, looking for Matheson Mathis, makes a nice catch in traffic for a six yard game as he's knocked down by a linebacker.
Glenn Frazier.
We aren't just trying to keep the play going.
Last second to find matches.
Nice pitch and catch.
We've talked a lot about math, as a three-year starter.
Came into the game feeling with 12 catches, for 161 yards and a couple scores.
He's already got a touchdown so far tonight when they go to the are there, normally looking for 11 and here they go to, the are looking for number 20, It screw Vontae Benson, and he picks up a first down to the 45, yard line and inside, McEachern territory the Blue Devils go.
Yeah, I live in like what they do for they do a lot with what mr. B they're out, the back.
Still be such a downhill, Runner nice, little flare out right there.
This is, get them in the open field and get what you can get son.
And that's, that's what they've been doing great at tonight.
Here they go up the middle again, it's Benson and he's taken down nice, nice game Tackle by the McEachern.
That's a defense in coming up at free safety position.
Coming up.
Backup quarterback number 13, senior Christian Ford also in the mix as he hits her.
Vontae low in up engine.
Great job of the McEachern defense.
Converging on number 20.
In see their Christian.
Wait, believe it up this?
This team on their defense, out of ball, coach say he's one of those emotional leaders back there all day to throw for Martin.
Great protection.
Is he goes to the sideline well, out of bounds intended for Marcus Bennett.
Covered up by Ramona Parsons, great job by the defense of the kitchen.
They're just making sure they have everybody accounted for.
And as you can see Martin's have a hard time.
Finding receiver defense.
The end is coming up there, putting their hands up and this making the play As you can see right there Divas in, get some pressure and a nice skip pass for asking.
For my number thirteen, Christian Ford Benson 14 carries for 61 yards.
So far on the night as also caught a pass.
And there you see Christian Ford five eleven hundred seventy pounds.
A, senior one of the main inspirational guys, on this defense, he's been all over so far tonight.
Here's Martin to throw screen pass Benson and coming up.
Brian Williams.
Turns it inside to his teammate.
Mackenzie Billingsley And he knocks him down at the 40 yard line.
He'll be five yards, shy of the first does a good defensive play by Michael Williams to cornerback satin out the screen.
Third down, got to get off the field but hey seems like Mario's gonna try to go for.
It was a great defensive play by Michael Williams.
Now, they're doing what they've done twice before and they bring their punting unit on at the very last minute.
So on Fourth and five, they'll go ahead and put it away and try to pin McEachern deep.
It's a an end over end punt by designed for Ian Shannon, it draws up nicely at the 5-yard line.
Rahming wisely takes it and gets an extra five yards out of it up to the nine.
So a 36-yard punt minimal return by TJ.
rahming and McEachern with the momentum and plenty of time to do some damage before the half already up 20.
39 want to get that going again man.
Is bad there playing with those guys man?
The situation like that.
You want to get away from the ball, don't want that ball to bounce up and hit your leg and back on the field.
It's Thai Clemens already.
Two touchdown passes tonight.
Both to TJ, rahming.
Barks out some signals to his big offensive lineman, who have done a wonderful job.
It's a high snap need drops on, with the 1-yard line.
It's a loss of three.
Number 23, Andrew Thomas in the area.
I really don't understand why lie offensive coordinators, put their quarterback in positions, like this in the 5-yard line in the end, especially when it comes to to shotgun formation, get your quarterback under Center, give it to you, run it back.
And get yourself some yards.
Now, feeling, maybe they're having flashbacks to the last time they were pinned down, your their goal line on the opposite side of the field.
Clemens, went under Center handed, it off to chub and it was a safety.
Gotta like you, percentage chances, better.
And here, he'll quarterback as sneak it wise.
Move by Hockman.
You see what that does for, you tray is safe, you know, high percentage run.
Since when are you safe here?
I thought you were kind of The Gambler.
Yeah but I'm not a gambling winnings, you to number two, team in the state baby.
You trying to make sure you stay number one, in the region, watch him fall.
Those big offensive, lineman, Junior Chandler Jones and the other guard number 60, Antonio Valentine and Center number 79.
CJ Norrell, some big guys up front, CJ, Norrell, 4.3 GPA first in his class.
So not just big and athletic, but also smart Coast.
Coast-to-Coast talked about, you know, talking about his offers alignment and how how smart they are and they'll be a he said there'll be a much better than a core group of guys.
And they could just just don't think it is kind of interesting.
Do you want to put pop?
You want your players to thank what you want them to think football plays, but those guys asked, look academic questions on the football field when he's not really appropriate.
So we got a Timeout on the field.
Field 227 to go 8:37 McEachern with the lead and the momentum.
They fell behind 7 to nothing early in this football game.
Both of these teams have a lot of intelligent guys who are big time in the community, John Nelson can speak to this Nelly.
The valedictorian for both schools is on the football field tonight.
Yeah, I was waiting for the transition.
They're trying to figure out what you were going to say about being me being a smart guy.
I was way below, no present company excluded.
Yeah.
But you talked about the special kind of athletes that we have here.
Talking valedictorian, you're talking third.
And your class you're talking to guys on each side of the ball.
And when you talked to Coach Bert and Marietta he says that's the kind of guys that you really you hope to have one of you.
Have you hope to have one of them when they when they pass through and your high school years to have four is an incredibly special thing.
And when you talk to coach Burton, you see just how completely blessed and flattered.
He is to have these four guys there to be a part of the team and to be as integral a part of the team as they are.
Yeah, those are just mind-boggling.
Then 44.5 the valedictorian of your class wish.
My GPA was that?
Huh?
Especially High School.
And alleys each up now, checks in as the 11th player on offense, third down, and nine for Clemens and the Indians, it goes to the air.
He's got to manage, Malik Williams and he backs out of Bounds at the 21.
Yard line, just good enough for Indian first down, nice pitch and catch Malik Williams.
Six 380 pounds came into the game with nine receptions which led the team but yet to get in the end zone so far tonight.
It's been teammate.
TJ rahming stealing the show from the leak.
You see Mary Of going to a zone defense, guess with a lot of all, the athletes around the ball, try to minimize the big plays that they've been having an office job on first down crosses.
The 25-yard line to the 26 yard line, a pickup of five, not a big sense of urgency right now for the McEachern, Indians to 18, to go in a big lead the first down.
First downs, excuse me.
Will stop the clock momentarily.
And the key turn in the very familiar pistol, and it looked like the defense may have jumped offsides as Lawton.
Ward came from the left side and actually they're going to call that on McEachern.
So again, Keeling a lot of penalties here in the first half.
Yeah, a lot of penalties is something that you really don't want to see by both ball clubs and something that they will be running for come Monday morning.
Because I know both coaches want to have this cleaned up very soon.
Fifth penalty of the night for McEachern for 56 yards.
There's a liese chub as he's taken down by Isaiah born.
The 220 pounds senior and he checks out right after the tackle once you check this block out right here.
Who telling you, man, I like that.
I like that.
I like a lot of hidden up front, then it goes down in the trenches trait.
You played defense in.
You know how that is?
You don't you got to keep your head on a swivel.
That's absolutely right.
Or it's gonna be coming off shorter, spreading out to the ride.
It's Clements looking downfield, throws a strike to the sidelines to Malik Williams.
Who picked up the first down a couple plays ago, and he's got himself, another one at the 31 is a very nice athletic catch and, and throw about a quarterback and receiver.
This is something they practice on all the time.
Getting those feet, inbounds catching the ball, catching that ball with your eyes and making sure you secure the catch.
And then most importantly, getting your feet inbounds.
So, two big first down catches for Malik Williams on this drive and calling his own.
Number is Clemens.
With a nice spin move and another first down at the 45 that move look like it was just one of those.
It can push the B button back in the day when your Sega Genesis and absolutely really turn around makes the Russian listen, great, athletic.
Who b?
I right there who do the year younger than me.
I'm going all the way back to the Bill Walsh college football days.
I don't know if you can go go there with me.
Yeah, I'm a little bit older than you are.
Well, you know what Nintendo to as well, but I don't think this pin will was out with a Go.
I think it came out with, Sega Genesis all day to throw for Clemens again.
It's Bleak Williams.
He thought he had a guy closer, little yards after the catch or Yak as they call it.
19 yards to be exact before Marcus Bennett drops him at the 36.
This defense is look very tired.
They, you know, they, they went to the Zone look because I can't, I think they tried to go man in the beginning of the game and they just get blown.
They're just getting gassed up out there and ties really doing a great job and finding his number-one receiver and is making sure you distribute the ball.
Off to the right people and making sure that they move those chains.
The kitchen will take a timeout with 51 seconds to go here before the half.
They have two remaining and plenty of time and Keelan.
It's very apparent, at least on this possession for McEachern.
The vast weapons that they have at their disposal.
We've seen TJ, rahming with a pair of touchdowns tonight, we've seen Taj Griffin with a touchdown tonight.
And now, so far in this drive, it's been number 19, Malik Williams.
But the author of all, this has been the quarterback whose Praises you've been singing all night long, and that's number two tycoons.
Yes, he holds the glue.
What is offense?
You know, like I said earlier, this is somebody who had to wait his chance even now it's his team and when he plays well, this offense moves, the ball down the field, they can do great things and he's a big reason why they're number two in an image state right now.
You know, right behind me, one for networking.
That definitely has a really good really good quarterback themselves and I think that speaks speaks of nice Testament to their program flow, programs are good because they have really good coaches.
And they have really good quarterbacks at the boat positions.
So, over the last 11 minutes of football, McEachern with seven first downs, Marietta with just two and mceachran trying to tack on an extra points and extend their lead with 50 seconds before half time to do.
So pistol formation, Clemens, will keep it himself.
The big boys block form.
He's got some room tries to kick it outside and he's all the way down to the 20-yard line for another first down 17 yards for Clemens, I just really like our patient here.
Is what he runs the football.
He doesn't try to outrun his office alignment.
As you can see right there, you put his hand right there.
That's that's how you use.
That is very how you use your blocking and getting up the same challenges.
Moving to move those guys out the way.
Thank you shirt.
I guess positive yardage phenomenal block by number 72, Right?
Guard Chandler, Jones Springs, quarterback your first down and how to go outside.
This is Brahman already of a two-touchdown.
He like he's got the satellite and number 320 yards on the touchdown.
Down TJ, rahming.
Wow, that happened fast.
This office could do so much in such a little time and that's why you have to be very disciplined on the defense side of the ball when you're facing this ballclub because they will, they will find the right match ups.
As you can see out there, Malik Williams sitting there, set them up.
Nice block out, front or TJ rahming on the outside.
He's their best receiver.
And this team work.
Well together, each God knows their role they block for each other that there for each other and that's why they're successful.
So it's 30 29.
It was a close game for a little bit, but it's been all McEachern in the second quarter.
And you see TJ rahming, you saw our tcsg touchdown replay earlier and now you see Robin get in the end zone for the third time tonight.
Thanks to the big Malik Williams block on the outside.
Yeah, that's that's very hard to find for you for you to find your receiver core block and block unselfishly.
That says a lot and they take pride in their block because that's a big part of what they do in their screen game and they're in their Desperado game.
That's something that you have to be able to do.
If your receiver at McEachern High School, you have to be able to block your tcsg scoring drive 10 plays 91 yards, three minutes and 37 seconds.
They left just 21 Hands on the clock for Marietta to try to answer back a beautifully, orchestrated drive for the McEachern, Indians exactly like they drew it up and Malik Williams who had three nice first down catches on that drive.
It was his block that allow teammate Romney with you to the end zone for the third time tonight.
This ver, very unselfish You know, it's just the first half to, you know, Mary Evans have to go into going at half, got 21 seconds left here in this in this first half, have to go in.
After it really read identify them.
As a team, they have to re identify themselves as a team, you have a lot of football to be played defense.
Playing halfway decent, you got to get your offense moving in right cylinders.
A lot of football left.
Dominguez set to kick-off, Matheson Benson deep to receive this time, it will be Benson from his 9-yard line, tries to right side and up the hash across the 30 yard line to the 35 yard line, and the clock will stop with 12 seconds and we'll see if Marietta tries to do anything or if they lick their wounds and head into the locker room, but 25 yard return for Benson.
The wind has been sucked out of this hyped up Marietta crowd to some degree.
You've already said they jumped out to a 7 to nothing lead.
It's basically been all McEachern since then with the exception of a lot and Ward safety.
His surprise his office, trying to take a snap here instead of taking the knee.
And Britain, Martin will try the middle of the field.
And it looks like that will be the last play of the second quarter so we will head to halftime McEachern with the lead.
32 9, then all McEachern for the last 12 minutes of this football game.
And they have shown you definitively why they are the number two ranked team in the state of Georgia.
Yeah, they do a good job.
They distribute the football to a lot of different guys and make sure that they protect the football.
And they do a great job once it, get the football in their hands and make the best of it.
Let's sit it down stairs, with the coach of the Marietta, excuse me, the McEachern, Indians coach, Kyle Hockman Nelly.
Take it away.
Thank you.
Trey here with a coach after some fits and starts the long plays.
Got you points.
Yeah we got some explosive kids and I got to give credit to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His blessings.
And what we have in McEachern, we got some great players and You know, obviously some great facilities and good coaches and we're just just blessed.
Now, you talk about things.
It was nine 1:07.
Then you put the pedal down, getting 23 straight on the board.
Obviously you're really getting it down now.
Yeah, you know you kind of make some adjustments and you see things and you get a little nervous and and, you know, taught and practiced a whole lot and he made a couple mistakes and but obviously bounce back to so special player.
And and again defensively I think we were a little bit high and doing some things that we we are uncharacteristic.
But We made some again, just trying to get plane based, good position, getting low and doing things and there you got some good strong players.
There's no question about it, they get some good players.
All right, thanks for your time Kyle.
You bet.
All right Senator the best seat in the house on Mark with Mark, Harmon with McEachern up 21.
Thank you very much John coming up at the half, we will hear from the Marietta marching band will also talk to both principals and find out what's going on and McEachern hand Marietta High Schools.

Last a Two Moons be fourscore.

Your answer Miss Montgomery is D, 12 minutes and you are just as smart as your students and definitely more smarter than me.
Thanks for hanging out with us and good luck in the second half.
Thank you very much.
Send it back over to this eating house and Mark Harmon.
Hey John, thank you very much.
We've got a great schedule for you on football Fridays.
In Georgia.

Lot of great players all season.

A great DeKalb County matchup.
We've got second, ranked and undefeated Stevenson taking on their DeKalb County rival, Southwest to cab.
We've got you covered all the way to the state finals in the Georgia, Dome in December, only on football Fridays in Georgia and only on the great GPB.
Let's now go back to the principal's office back to John Nelson and back to the principle of Marietta High School, Lee Colburn John.
Thank you Market is trip number two, into the principal's office for me tonight.
We're here with Miss first name.
Last Last name.
Colburn Miss.
Cole Bartley Colburn principle.
That's the way.
It always is with the principal going to miss Colburn's office.
Let's talk about the friendly rival lie and what it makes to Cobb County and to everyone and Powder Springs in Marietta.
Yeah, it's really one of the best and oldest rivalries.
I think in Cobb County one of the healthiest, most fun, fun 11 fun spirited, we never have really issues at the game.
So Marietta McEachern, the kids are friends, the families are friends, it's typically a really close game.
We need to tighten it up in the second half for to be close.
But it's, you know, it's the devil's versus the The anything it's probably a great time.
All right, now it's like cool t-shirts as she is sporting right now.
Jordan, if you would please present the helmet and the question, unless of course, there you go.
Go ahead and reach in.
I haven't seen it.
You look at it.
There you go.
That's the question and I will read it for you.
In what division, the Atlanta Falcons play.
Is it a the NFC South be the LOL, North Sea, the JK East or D?
The BYOB West.
What is your answer?
Please NFC South and you are just as smart as your It's and definitely smarter than me.
Thanks for hanging out and that's a great t-shirt and good to see you.
Thanks for being a great host and let's enjoy it.
No doubt.
We are to, let's send it back over to this eating house with Mark Harmon.
All right, thanks John.
Now time to check out the scores from around the state on their Georgia.
EMC, scoreboard up.
First, we've got Lakeside Stevenson, we got Stevenson next week, North Gwinnett all over Meadowcreek.
It's 42 to nothing that I'm going in the second quarter.
We've got Peach Tree Ridge, leading Mill Creek.
9:46 that game at the half Valdosta, three touchdowns better.
Newton, we've got Mondays Mill, leading coffee 7 and noting that one in the first quarter, we got Gainesville for touchdowns better than a pie at Sea.
28 to nothing.
We've got Dunwoody trailing Tucker 723 Tucker, top rank in Class 5A, we've got love and leading st. Pius 28 to nothing.
That one at the half.
We got Calhoun, three touchdowns better than Dade County and we've got each cow.
Eat a shocking Lovejoy right now.

How about that?
Hey, it sounds good to me.
All right, we have John Nelson joining us.
He travels over the great state of Georgia.
Bringing us interesting stories about high school football and today a story about a young person who gets a big kick out of the game of football.
Yeah.
And if I told you that this particular individual was homecoming queen and the kicker for villarrica highwomen Would you believe me?
Well the answer is.
Yes.
And yes.
So we caught up with one of the best kickers in the state Taylor title back.
Kickers are a different sort keeping themselves practice for the most part by themselves, but villarrica, highs place kickers, and honor student, a child of coaches and a soccer player.
Did I mention the naturally curly hair Taylor title back in her?
Electric kicks are spending their senior year as the Wildcats kicker.
There's not a boy to do this and they're like, no, no one from the boys team would come out.
And so I was like, you know, this after talking to my parents, I was like, you know, this is something that I'm never in get an opportunity to ever do again and it's my senior year.
So why not go ahead?
Try it.
It's different.
It's very different.
But she does a great job at what she does and she's a good soccer player and she can trying to Transitions it onto the football field, but being a successful kicker takes a rhythm among Taylor Paul and QB Kevin Martin and it took no time at all.
It's pretty easy.
I just got a.
Well I just took a couple steps from Paw and then I just had to learn how Taylor want me to put it on the, on the, on the tee and it was fine.
The larger question is with all the acceptance in her role on campus and on the field where She has her back.
Is she viewed as a role model?
I think so, I've got an 11 year old daughter that the play soccer and I know she's excited about what Taylor's doing.
I'm, I'm pretty certain.
There's a lot of other little girls in our community that have seen what she's done.
And, and of course, with her academic record and in the way she carried herself in the school's homecoming, queen.
I think she definitely role model and there's one goal Taylor has for her.
Senior season Breaking Tanya Butler's long of 43 yards, her reaction Get from 39 earlier this year.
We got it in.
Like excited.
I actually in the video, you can see me standing on my tippy-toes to see if it goes over and I was just like, yes I hit it, I made it.
I never said, yes, ma'am on the football field on Friday during the game but I was high-fiving.
Yes, ma'am.
And and it was a good thing.
Everybody was excited that the student section just roared and she's become pretty popular around here.
Mark obviously Billerica leading right now, 14-nothing over Paulding County, Angie mikkel of Sequoia.
Also, hit from 43 yards back in 1992.
So we got some great kickers in the top 10.
Best in the female history here in the state of Georgia, you know?
She's so enthusiastic it's great to see that and how the teammates have reacted accepted her.
One of the gang from the beginning.
All right, let's check in.
Now with Grace Olson a segment we call rent, check or we check in with some parents of some of the players from tonight's game Grace.
It takes a lot to raise those athletes out there on the field.
That's why we bring in the paramedics.
Inch like Tim Ward.
He's the father of Marietta outside linebacker Lawton board.
Now Tim, we're here for a segment.
We call a raincheck.
We're going to quiz you play some trivia.
See how well, you know, Lawton.
Now we've got a photo of him here and man, is that a massive picture?
I'm sure he can see that from out in the field.
We've also got another photo rolling up on the screen right now.
How old was Laden in this picture of the key was three or four?
Do you remember this day?
What you're doing?
Oh absolutely yeah.
What kind of kid was?
He was his personality We like, it was a fun kid to be around.
He was always a joy and a little quiet, but the times, but rambunctious when he needed to be all right, and as a multi-sport athlete, and an all-around academic, this kid seems like he's maintained that positive personality and that strong work ethic.
Now, let's get down to the trivia.
First question for you, what is his favorite subject in school?
Favorite subject in school is probably weightlifting, but I'm gonna go with history History.
Literature actually may like to write like to read.
All right.
Favorite career moment.
This is a big one.
Favorite career moment would have to be winning a state championship in wrestling.
He said, beating Lowndes and junior junior year down in Lads, all right, and anything in the world.
If he could have anything in the world, what would it be?
He said, he's been bugging.
You Gotcha.
All right.
Getting ready to start the third quarter?
32:9 mceachin, we head downstairs to John Nelson.
Standing by with Coach Burton.
John, thank you here with a coach.
Let's talk about it.
It seemed to be a tale of two quarters almost.
Yeah, I thought, you know, I thought moved the ball pretty well in the first half and I thought I'd first quarter and I thought our defense played really well.
You know, there are good enough team that we don't need to help them and we helped him a little bit in the first half, you know, get a couple busted coverages and you know safety down here on it miscommunication and certainly Clean that up because I'm that there are obviously a very good team and they can they can do just fine without our help and what you've maintained is that.
These guys, in the way that you've built this program, these guys will not quit, they will not quit and something, obviously, you reinforce pretty much every day.
No, I promise you, that won't happen.
And I also promise you that I only have to say it because that that comes from our senior leadership and this community believes in our team and the believes in the fact that we will fight.
Thanks a lot coach.
You send it upstairs for first half highlights and stuff.
Thank you very much, John.
I love listening to coach Burton talk.
He is absolutely in love with this community and his student athletes.
And, we had a great phone conversation with him on Thursday.
There's a reason why the coaches love him so much and the community loves him so much.
Let's take a look at first half highlights.
There were a lot of them feel and he has a lot of highlights.
As you can see, Martin getting out there, getting the ball to MacKenzie out front with the slant air defense actually coming up scoring on its owner of defensive getting a safe there.
That's unusual but my main man.
High tide Clemens bouncing back to his number-one Target, their keep de Remy.
Taking it to the house, man.
These two guys have a great connection and they've been connecting all game the time possession.
As you can see.
It's going on defense to as well.
Both of you.
Both of these teams met McEachern, having 11 minutes, 36 seconds.
And also Marietta having a ball, 12 minutes, 24 seconds.
It's not even there a little bit, but you can tell a lot of turnovers on Marietta side.
The kitchen is taking advantage of some big plate opportunities and just a lot of athletes around the football.
Going deep making plays, man, TJ rahming with three touchdown catches tonight.
There's been a safety for each team.
Taj Griffin has scored.
Here is the third and final touchdown with about 20 seconds to go before the half.
McEachern dominated that second quarter and we take a look at Halftime stats, rushing yards, in favor of McEachern passing yards, big time.
Thanks to the three touchdown passes by Clemens total yards, huge favor for McEachern.
You just mentioned the time of possession being relatively even but 12 first downs, 26, this is one of those stat Graphics that really tells the story of the football games are definitely tells the story of the football game.
You look at the McEachern having two turnovers and Mario to have lunch with you.
Look at the scoreboard.
30 29, you can tell who's really been put those points up on the board due to the passage.
Game of tied clinics.
So the two teams, take the field, McEachern will receive the second half kick.
They had won the opening toss and elected to defer.
So already up 30 29, they will get the ball first.
And as John was talking to coach Hockman, he said very aptly that it was fits and starts in the first quarter.
And then the second quarter, they really found themselves Marietta hoping that they are able to thwart some of that offensive.
Juggernaut that they had to contend with in the second quarter.
If not this could get ugly in a hurry, he knows that you have to keep this ball Club in the game that gives kids an opportunity to make some plays, call The Right Place, Morris kids and put the ball in play.
Make his hand because this right here is, is what couldn't get kind of ugly.
And it looks like the crowd is getting whipped up into a frenzy.
Over here on the Marietta Sidelines.
They came out with a lot of enthusiasm in the First half.
And now they're starting to get back into the football game.
Check these kids out.
That is having some fun.
That's what it's about man.
Friday night and Marietta baby is really good to see this beard fingers out there.
Clemens hands off straight up the middle.
Nice.
Run by Sherman, his first touch of the game.
The Senior comes in five six hundred eighty pounds, 80 yards, and three touchdowns.
And one of many, many skill position players, they can rotate in and out, FIFA's inquisitive Chris, Floyd on the tackle, bring them down, second down, and a long for they try to give it to it.
Looks like Taj Griffin on the outside and he is dropped for a loss Lawton.
Ward coming in to make the tackle, you just saw Grace Talking to his father and of course he is a multi-sport star state championship wrestler last year and he's playing a heck of the game.
He said his favorite player was Bo Jackson, Bo Jackson's.
Going to get to know a lot in ward soon if he keeps playing like that, I know, maybe he's having a really good game on the defense side of ball, keeping back there, making tackles for, tfl tackle for loss, and it's making sure he's around the football.
This will formation for McEachern third down and nine to go.
They'll Sprint out to his left present, get away from a would be Russia and look like a holding.
They didn't call it passes complete, the Marcus Bennett at the 26 yard line.
He'll still be shy of the first down.
You're going to see how I tie.
Clemens is very accurate with his balls.
I haven't seen a lot of balls sale on them tonight.
He's been pretty much Dead on.
strive with his receivers and Trying to get them.
The ball out front.
Isaiah born was the one pursuing quarterback Ty Clemens and the officials are over there on the sidelines, talking to the Marietta coach.
He might have seen what we saw killing the potential hold inside.
So it's an illegal procedure.
We're just going to set up a fourth down for McEachern.
If you go out of bounds, you can't be the first player to touch it and that's what happened over here on the sidelines.
And so McEachern will now be forced to punt the play stands and the penalty is declined.
Burton decline the penalty.
That's what the conference on the sidelines was he would much rather, it be forced at fourth down and try to get the ball back.
So Dennis Dominguez will stand at his own 11-yard line to punt the ball away to Jordan Mathis.
Mathis could do back there.
Number one, guy that go-to guy to play it, draws up at the 48 yard line and takes a Marietta bounce, back on their side of the field, 23 yard punt, it will be first down and 10 for Marietta.
And you see a good shot of quarterback.
Junior Brenton, Martin sad, an up and down game so far tonight.
That he really needs to lead his troops to the promised land here in the third quarter.
They already Trail 32 9 with 10:34 to go in the third quarter, 6 of 10 for 47 yards and the touchdown that touchdown was the first score of the game to Jordan Mathis and it's been all McEachern sense.
What thing that dissolves has do very well is run the football.
It really have to make sure they get back to running the football then trying to mix up their passing game to get the ball to something that Playmakers.
There's math is on the outside.
You got a nice block by curve on.
Benson.
It's a three and a half yard gain on first down.
It'll bring up second down, and it looks like they're trying to get Brett and Martin into a group with some high percentage stuff.
He'll you got to, you got to get him going there behind the eight ball right now.
And I'm looking at the body language of looking at some of the how these coaches and players are interacting right now and they just really does not seem like they're into this ball game anymore.
Play-action the go sideline, Marcus Bennett, nice move inside, keeps his feet and is eventually tackled on the second go-around, and here comes a penalty battalion.
It was made by number 53.
Christian Wade, the linebacker think is going to be a block in the back by math is here at the end of the play, just one may be coming back.
Do not mistake.
And you're absolutely right killing a block in the back.
Erases a nice pitch and catch from Britain Martin to Marcus Bennett.
You can see you, had math is right down the middle.
I think the safety was recovered to and he did on the bid on the number one, receiver.
Later.
Nice decision as a block in the back right there.
Absolutely.
Christian Wade, took the Block in the back from Jordan Mathis.
The play will stand.
It's a spot of the foul penalty.
So its first down and ten ball at the 37.
Here's kurvanti.
Benson trying to get to the outside and a nice tackle.
In nice Pursuit made Christian Wade.
Will linebacker coming up making a hit.
Watch the run it back out of bounds.
Justin Pendleton.
Also in on the tackle, That's the second one coming up here and it's kind of see what they could do.
So nice little run pass balance here by this offense on the first drive in the 2nd half.
This will formation for Marietta on second down and nine play action.
And now, Britain Martin looking for a rushing Lane, he can't find one as famine Rua comes all the way down from the far defensive end.
Nice Pursuit down the line and a nice tackle made.
The Louisville, commit has been all over the place tonight.
I'm telling you man is this defense has been very very good especially in the front seven of these guys.
You know when you pursue to the football tray when you when you run hard and you're in your tackle hard, good things happen.
Things happen for you defense and that's what makes this Makita steepness of top defense mistake.
Third down and a long six.
As Martin looks to the sideline for the play, Keith Cooper in motion.
And running that way spreading out is Brett Martin who gets rushed into the inside, and now reverses field gets past Billingsley.
Now, looking for a block on the outside gets past Christian Wade and he's eventually tackled by Williams at the 28-yard line.
He'll be about a yard and a half shy of a first down.
But a nice improvisational run there by the junior quarterback, really good and proud to run by the quarterback there, Glenn Frazier, this mission to tackle tackle in the backfield, he's come beam in for the middle linebacker position.
Right there like this, this messing up the timing of the other passing in the route and this defense is pursuing to the ball.
Everybody staying home, that's an awful lot of running for a four-yard gain in so far tonight.
They brush their punt team on very quickly, but it looks like for the first time tonight.
They may go for it on fourth down.
They'll have three receivers to the near one to the wide side, they run to the near side is Benson.
Do lowers his head at the 25 yard line and looks like he picked up the first down.
Hey did sure.
Did you know once again, they're running that ball to the boundary and that's what they had.
A lot of success tonight that pulling their offensive tackles and pulling those guards around great.
Some leverage for Vincent.
Isaiah born, great job out in space blocking tonight.
He's been pulling double duty.
We've seen him on offense and defense and here comes Benson again, looking for a lane finds.
One picks up five six.
Now seven yards on first down.
The kids are coming down for that jeep.
Has a magician making the tackle on Benson.
Also number 24, the pony linebacker.
Justin Pendleton in on the tackle as well.
The right now Marietta got great field position after the defensive stop and they're capitalizing on it thus far and one of those little hurry-up offense trying to get this McEachern defense time so makes the directional plays things and again the other side looking for a seam 10-5 and he's down inside the 5 yard line at the to it'll be first and goal for Marietta.
What did he say about?
What they do?
Good run the football.
They really have.
Find a very, very good Rhythm and running the football.
Benson is making sure he putting his team on his back and get some positive yardage.
Staying north south, that's very hard to do in high school football sophomore, right?
Tackle number 78, Brian.
Marshall with a nice block on the 15, yard run by kurvanti, Benson, and Marietta hasn't first and goal for the first time tonight.
17 carries 83 yards field.
You said it exactly right.
He's been their go-to guy and here they go.
No wide receivers for the first time tonight, Boss Tweed.
Whiteside couple blockers.
He lowers his shoulder and I don't think he got it.
Kill him.
Oh no he didn't get in there man look like he was stood up by sophomore defensive tackle number 95, Andrew Tarver.
This defense is being relentless down there, you know, sometimes and say hey we'll Bend but we're not gonna break in the seem like they're trying to have a nice little goal line stance but this Marietta's offenses you have something going for themselves and see if they can put it in 46.
And Marietta is going to take a timeout and come to the sidelines and think about what they want to do here.
They know.
Points in this situation are absolutely imperative as they Trail.
32, 9 with 551.
As you see a good shot of Coach Burton urging his athletes to get over there.
We've got a couple of injured guys down on the field for McEachern.
That looks like Glenn, Frazier, the Mike linebacker the seniors down on his belly.
He's being tended to by the trainers for McEachern.
Looks like he's in considerable pain.
Yeah.
He's a good player for him.
Hope he's all right now.
In there trying to staff get down there fall, even coach Hockman out to check on his linebacker and he does everything he can to get up on his own feet and a nice Round of Applause by the crowd here, as the linebacker gingerly, walks to the sideline.
So Keelan, how important is it here for the Marietta offense to not just put three on the board, but get seven.
It's very important and they have something really good going for themselves.
They have a real nice long drive right now, and this is something for them.
You know, they're this number two, team in the state.
They want to make sure they have quality reps. Quality reps is 210 play coming up and you want to make sure they get a score.
All right, you milking the clock.
This coach know, he has a challenge on the head.
He said, here at hey look we have great fans.
You know, our players, our players is going to play to the fullest to the to the end of the Bell.
And the leadership definitely has to step up.
I don't have to say anything because I've seen leadership is really good and this is the opportunity right now for those seniors right now to capitalize on what coaches want a touchdown, an extra point could pull Marietta to within 14 points and make it a two possession game, second down, and goal.
The two and a half yard line, heavy package once again and they'll go straight up the gut with Benson.
He lowers his head and I believe he's into the endzone.
No, they're gonna call him down at the half yard line.
Every dark blue jersey.
Put their hands up to Signal touchdown.
Wow.
The only Jersey that didn't was the striped one, and that's the only one that matters but take a look.
I thought he was in there trait.
Oh yeah down.
Great job by the officiating crew and a great job by the defensive front seven for McEachern.
Yeah keep those feet moving.
If what you said was true feeling it's four down territory, this is third same formation and this time Britain Martin will quarterback sneak it and it's a touchdown and Marietta's on the board.
First in the second half with the quarterback, sneak the junior Brenton, Martin seeks his way into the endzone for the Marietta score.
The fans have graffiti out here throwing it up in the air than this is.
Nice move.
Making sure that Martin goes right up behind Isaiah and Brian Jordan, the left left guard and Center.
They got a short field in great field position.
And just like coach Bert and draws it up, it was a nice long time.
Consuming Drive 11 plays 49 yards time, elapsed 5 minutes and 29 seconds.
And Ian Shannon will try to draw them to within 14 points and Shannon puts it up into the neighbor's, yard, and off the top of the bus.
And it's a nice loud, one point.
We're going to take a break 3216.
Marietta has managed to put points on the board first in both halves.
Can they come back and win this football game?
It's football, Fridays in Georgia on GPB.
32.
Steam 507 to go in the third quarter.
It's another great season of Georgia traveler this fall on, GPB.
Watch David Zale ski and the crew.
As they uncover more of the Hidden Georgia that maybe across the state or around the corner.
That's Georgia, traveler this Sunday at 7:00.
Only on GPB.
Let's go.
Here's your tcsg scoring Drive, 11 plays 49 yards, five minutes and 29 seconds.
Exactly how coach Scott Burton wanted his Blue Devils to come out of the locker room.
It is now a two possession game 32:16 you see quarterback Britain.
Martin after the one-yard quarterback sneak 8 of 12 for 40 yards and a touchdown through the air.
Nine carries 44 yards and a touchdown on the ground and he's a happy camper right now.
Yeah, they just go and drives Marietta leads in time of possession.
The tails on big Sonic.
Booms and Wars guys, really scoring very quick, their best and that's passing.
Took it.
Back, each receive is Hayward and he'll let it.
Go over his head for the Touchback McEachern.
Will touch the ball for the second time in the second, half nothing doing on their first possession up by a couple of touchdowns and so far the man of the night, number two tie Clemens, Three touchdown passes to TJ rahming on the night.
He's also ran the ball very well.
He has been the bulk of the offense for this Indian football, team look at it.
Rib cage, man.
I used to have one of those, a high school van.
That thing is pretty sweet.
Read option.
He's got a blocker and he's got the sidelines, he's down the hash Marcus Bennett to beat 40 30 and pushed inside at the 20-yard line and all the way down to the 15 yard line and right on cue a 65 yard, run by quarterback.
Tie Clemens.
It's like looking at him when he's in open.
Feel, he's does so much with his feet.
He does a great job by just selling the defense on who has, who has the ball, you know, left tackle or Noche canoe te getting out there in front blocking form.
He does so much for this football club Luce and caught a with a beautiful block and all five of those guys up front of gun.
Well, here's a another carry for Ali's each, uh, but he's dropped for a tfl by Lawton.
Ward who's been the star on defense?
So far tonight for the Blue Devils.
Great hit in the backfield, by lot a lot more wood.
Great job by coming in, just destructive what they have going on in the backfield right here.
That's what I'm talking about, baby.
It's dick.
So after the tackle for loss it will be second and 12 bought.
The 18-yard line pistol formation for clemenceau.
Come back near side.
Looking for Malik Williams.
He finds him but Marcus Bennett finds Williams and it'll be little to no gain on the play.
They'll mark it down at the 15 yard line.
So it'll be modest gain of two yards on the pitch and catch to Malik Williams, Malik Williams.
And Marcus been has been going at it all game long.
This has been a matchup Mark has been it.
Heads, i antique on, on, on, on him so far tonight.
Icky Willingham has another interception, but Malika, whoops, Malika and Mark has been going at it all night tonight.
Sometimes he sometimes you win, sometimes it doesn't, but Malik has his number so far, 328, total yards of offense for Clinton.
So far tonight, he'll try it again.
10 inside the 5 to the 3, yard line before being brought down by a couple of Blue Devils as well as right tackle chuma.
Yoga.
Stop them up in the young man is slow to get up a 12-yard carry for a first down first and goal.
He took a nasty hit and I hope he's all right, down there, and it strange that I really need to get to him because this hit pretty nasty.
Got hit side by side.
These two people following too many Doga, their lowers his head, and makes a nice hit.
And then you see his helmet come off at the end of the play.
And he's very, very slow to get up.
That's not what you want to see.
See was a nice Tough Run and it doesn't help to have the 300-pound human.
You do goal and on you after the play but look like it could have been Keelan helmet-to-helmet contact and that always scares you they always scares you you know they're trying so hard to protect their players nowadays and really trying to show them how to tackle properly Sometimes When You're In the Heat of the Moment you just can't have purpose.
Perfect situations on the football field.
Now, the backup quarterback situation.
A little bit dicey at the moment for McEachern coach.
Kyle Hockman son.
The Freshman Bailey Hockman is nursing a bit of a concussion right now.
So if for some reason, Clemens has to sit out, they will turn to Junior number 18, Andrew Heyward to run the Wildcat for the remainder of the game, right?
Well, you know right now this young man's health is more pressing as we await word on whether he'll be able to get Get off the field on his own power and there you see Hayward warming up on the sideline?
Well, what good thing about the kitchen?
They have, they have to have that cooks and they have they have a lot of depth in those positions.
And you know, football is a game of wins is a game of losses and it may be a quarterback may have just lost for the rest of the evening.
So they have to make some adjustments on the move.
And here you see, the young man sitting up?
It does look like he is a bit dazed as they try to.
Check his faculties to make sure he's good to get up.
Let's take a look at the hit and slow motion.
Here it is.
Helmet to helmet as he goes up against Simeon, Bobbitt on the outside.
And you see his helmet come off.
At the end of the play.
Let's head downstairs to John Nelson, John.
Well, remember the conversations that we had with the coaches this week and we knew about the star power that was going to be on the field in the first stringers coach Burton maintained this entire week.
It was going to be the lunch.
Old guys.
That was going to get you a win in a situation like this in a rivalry game in a region game.
And unfortunately injury is going to be one of those results that gets the lunch pail, guys, out on the field.
So it would be an interesting test case to see the lunch pail guys that work here for the rest of the third and fourth quarter.
Thanks John.
That's a great point.
And we've talked at length, Keelan about Clemens, being the heart and soul the offense, you've got the stats in front of you.
Yeah, this is a man is the rush for 128 yards tonight and this is just the third quarter.
Look like he's not coming back in and pass for over 200 yards tonight at 212.
So he is a responsible for a lot of time of possession or responsible for a lot of what they do.
And this young man is throwing multiple touchdown passes tonight and he's done a great job.
So whoever comes in next have to make sure they leave off on a good foot.
And so its first down and goal for McEachern and actually looks like a lazy chub will be lined up the full back at the Wildcat and take this snap and he does he goes.
Straight ahead following his sinner into the End Zone on a 3-yard touchdown.
So the injury to Clemens at least initially doesn't hurt McEachern as they answer back with a big touchdown.
It's a three yard run by a lazy chub.
They have a back-up plan man.
A tub is a very very, very good down south Runner.
This Get down there, following the beat up front, and it's making sure he take the quickest team on his back and, and do what it takes man.
This team has the pedigree, they have the network, they have the coaching and they just have to put everything together when they play.
Well, there's team shows up and show out and the dentist Amigas kick is up and good and just as Marietta drawers with into scores, McEachern answers back, but it could be costly as Ty.
Clemens, goes off injured, 37 26, When you see the coaches over there, going through the hit head protocol, the concussion protocol, if you will, that seems to have a little bit more depth to it, each and every year as health and safety.
For these student athletes is Paramount, tell you man that that test is harder than sat view.
Ask me, man, thank God.
They sit there in the a s***, you know, your name.
What's your phone number?
Your mom named your dad named, it didn't, then after that the train a walker This, how to get you the train or walk away.
And when he comes back, it actually do.
You remember the conversation?
We just had If you can't remember the conversation just have with the trainer after two or three minutes gone.
By then you got your buddies coming up to you talking to you during those two three minutes.
If you can't answer those questions, you're not going back in that game, buddy.
Yeah, they take absolutely no chances there.
41 different layers to the concussion protocol.
You see the tcsg scoring drive?
Five plays 80 yards, minute, 53, capped off by the 3-yard.
Eliza chub touchdown.
And so now Marietta will have to answer back and we'll have to wait a little While to see what McEachern strategy becomes on offense.
If Clemens cannot return to this football game.
Trust me, I've been through about three or four of them in my, my football career and they're not fun, and I'm not excited at all.
Getting concussions.
It's a shallow kick Marcus Bennett takes it at the 30 yard line and crashes down at the 42.
So pretty good field position for the second time here in the second half for the Red Devils.
But unfortunately for them mceachran was able to answer back from their third quarter score and it's 37 to 16 with 310.
This third quarter is gone by very quickly so far thanks to too time-consuming, drives one for Marietta and one for McEachern.
Yes, both of these teams you could still really tell but Keith, he's really trying.
So things down trying to hold on because telling you this Marietta off, its can strike just as fast as the kitchens office.
Written Martin, take the snap and the pistol.
He gives it to his go-to guy to provide say Benson and Benson can't be brought down but is Pushed Out of Bounds at the 50-yard line.
And I love what I see for about a Benson tonight.
And I'll blue-collar football and I love what I just saw from during hazily a hoesley.
Scuse me a Right Guard.
He just took his man and throws him 15 yards down the field.
That's what I'm talking about.
Basic four yards.
So far on the night they call his number once again.
He's dropped by Christian Wade, the will linebacker at the Zone, read in the short side of the field, he worked really good for them tonight.
It's a it's a, it's a play that allow the quarterback to read that the in and get the end jumps up the field.
He pulls it in the end, if the end stays at home he gives it.
Well we get too deep in this football game and Marietta's going to have to go to the air and Coming into this football game, the defense for McEachern already had 16 sacks and we know for a fact that fem Rua has two sacks already tonight.
So they're adding to those numbers so good for them, that the rushing game is working, but the clock is not in their favor.
The officials now take a timeout they want to take a measurement over here on the near side and Darrell's down low to try to get a good shot of it.
Great shot by our camera crew and it looks like he's about a football link shy of the first down.
So, it's a nice run by Benson, but just a little bit shy.
Big third down play coming up.
If I'm matter if I'm Marietta, I'm thinking something right.
Up the middle, something safe, a high percentage running running attack.
For me.
Well, when they had similar down and distance on the goal line, written Martin called his own number for the quarterback sneak.
We'll see if he does the same here.
Doesn't look like he'll be under Center.
They'll go to the pistol formation.
Four wide receivers to, to each side on third down and about a footballs link for the first.
And they do go for the quarterback sneak as Martin gets under Center at the last moment, this helmet comes off than by rule the moment.
The helmet comes off.
The play is dead, but I believe he had the yardage necessary for the first.
And he does, it's a first down for Marietta.
And now, Martin forced to sit out for a play by rule, your helmet comes off.
You've got to hit the sideline.
It's back up is number 16.
Sophomore.
James Baldwin will be forced to take the next snap.
You good shot of it here.
Martin with the first down, in his helmet coming off, I'll go to the wild back because Wildcat position they I think they going to put Jordan Matthews at quarterback.
Yeah, for a moment.
There looked like James Baldwin number 16 was coming on but it will be math.
It's taking the snap and it's a bad one.
Mathis recovers tries to get to the outside and is smashed the 50-yard line.
Number 24, Justin Pendleton.
Yes, baby coming up.
Making a big hit, Justin.
I like that.
Gives you some TV Time.
Justin, yes, we'll take a great look at it right here.
Bad snap.
Good job recovering by Mathis.
But he takes a lick nor to be the oil to play quarterback.
Taking the safety level.
You have to be able to make hits like that, man, tfl, baby tackle for loss.
And he loves After the tackle for loss its second down from Midfield, Martin looking to throw and looking on the outside for Kadeem Wallington in the ball is high.
It was defended by Mike linebacker, Glenn Frazier.
Now I want to show you something.
I want to show you why this guy Benson.
We've been talking about him, watch this block coming up right here, who that is a defense alignment.
265 plus pounds.
He's protecting his quarterback.
They don't make them like that.
No more baby.
Just don't make them like that.
They used to babe.
Well, that's a coach's dream and the young man is only a junior.
Marry it'll have him back for another season, he's a special player, he's showing glimpses of that tonight, we've got a player, it's Henry hemorrhoids down.
This is just cramps as his coaching staff, tries to stretch him out and get him ready to play for the remainder of this football game, 13 minutes and 19 seconds to be exact.
As we're a minute, 19 away from the fourth quarter, you see his measurables Are the Louisville commit, 63, 230.
I think you said it earlier and even his coaches said it to us.
And some games last year he is chiseled.
He is a player that looks like he belongs on a division.
One football he really does.
He does a lot for this program by making sure it's standing the offense, keeping the lanes open for his defense.
Voice defensive line backers coming up.
You got to have a defensive end, that's can stretch and use his hands very well.
He plays low and he he's a probably, a quarterback worst nightmare man.
Yeah, and Brent, Martin will get a reprieve at least on the next snap is femaura is heading off the field.
Gingerly little bit, he's a pickle juice, bab solutely hasn't some hydration problems.
He's a pretty hot, it's almost September, but it's still pretty hot out here.
One of my boys, I got it will talk about pickle juice during the Corky Kell, and it's a key when you couldn't have said it any better man, that pickle juice worked wonders.
Maybe it's a for us, big boys.
The pickle juice is our best friend.
For remember that?
It works.
I tell you.
It works third and 12 and the right side of the Marietta line.
Jumps off sides, Brandon Hill.
So that I'll back him up.
So was third down and 12.
It'll now be third down and 17 from the 45 yard line.
So after the quarterback sneak and the first down by Britain Martin a couple plays ago, they have now lost yardage on three consecutive plays eight penalties on the night for Marietta Martin.
Sprinting out looking sideline that's Wallington.
He makes a nice smooth inside before Glenn Frazier and Company tackle him to the ground and in there at the last Second was Christian Ford trying to strip the ball all for naught but it looks like a punting situation upcoming for the Blue Devils.
The kids has been doing a good job in this past game tonight by making sure they stay in this Zone and what they're doing, they're pushing their line back and they're pushing their linebackers when Ivy roll out.
So the line back of the mic when I'm back from the comes the will linebacker, the will linebacker becomes Sam linebacker.
Covenant, the Covenant flats and this defense be relentless in.
This is ripping ripping.
Trying to rip the ball out and it kind of gets his helmet out there.
We said, Christian Ford was trying to strip the ball ended up getting 0 ball and 100% helmet.
But no face mask call, we like the effort though.
Young fellow absolutely, they're going to go for it on fourth down and nine, they have to down 3716 and spreading out to the right side, this time is Martin trying to set his feet.
The pressure and he throws it away to Marcus Bennett at the 33-yard line and that'll be good enough for a first down, a tremendous catch by the two-way players.
Those are tremendous throw to buy.
Martin just keeping the play alive and buying time for his is receivers to find a pie lines and I think you kind of pay for it at the end of it there you can see keeping the play alive and making something happen.
Finding his Target receiver Marcus Bennett, great job by Bennett.
Very talented, two-way player coach Burton just gushed about him on the phone, this week.
Look at that, he about what?
A leader he was and what an exemplary?
A young man, he is on the field for the younger guys.
He's played well tonight.
Night and so his that man right there Britain, Martin, it's been tough sledding and they may just let the clock run out and they do.
That's the end of the third quarter.
Triple zeros McEachern leading, 37 to 16 but Marietta driving Glenn Frazier, made his way back on the football field and he actually made his quarterback pay for it on the other side.
So, McEachern, leading 37.
216 Marietta driving.
Don't go anywhere.
It's football.
Fridays in Georgia.
We're back here at northcut Stadium McEachern leads, Marietta 37 216, I'm dr. One of my favorite parts of the night, our sports trivia.
We asked you earlier in the night and the second quarter, what year was northcut Stadium built?
This isn't any regular Stadium.
This is a historic Stadium.
We asked you to take to social media to give us the answer.
Our winner, Joe Webb.
The year was 1948.
Joe Webb on, goes by Joe magic number.
On Twitter.
Joe, you're our trivia number one tonight.
Thank you so much for participating.
Let's talk on Twitter.
Let's get your information.
Sending your football Fridays in Georgia t-shirt.
Thank you, everyone who participated, I'm gonna sing it back to those guys in the booth.
Regress, the game, thank you so much grace.
I want a t-shirt start of the fourth quarter.
37 216 Marietta, they're driving first down and 10 from the 34 yard line.
They want to trap back inside curve on a b and try to get outside, gets a nice block by Bennett.
And he's thrown out of bounds by his helmet at the 25-yard line, we just talked about the physicality going on on the field, just a moment ago and there's a flag comes in and that should by all accounts tack on 15 yards to a really nice Benson run.
Yeah, this is very nice.
Physical run.
Misdirection counter off the tackle there you see the good good blocking by Marcus Bennett and at the end there to something facemask facemask by Jetson Pennington.
How's the 9-yard?
Run by Benson.
He's now up over the 100-yard.
Mark 23 carries for 104 to be exact.
And a costly penalty as Marietta is trying to draw to within two scores once again every time they've done.
So thus far, McEachern has answered back if they're able to score here.
One of the sub stories in this game.
Is how is Ty Clemens doing on the sidelines?
And will he be back and who will be quarterback for McEachern?
If he's not but in the Here and Now Marietta is trying to put some points on the board.
Past two drops by Mary Ellen's been very very positive.
There's a big hit on the outside by Justin Pendleton.
On Vincent Pendleton.
The young man that just had the 15-yard penalty called against him and he answers back in a big way.
Okay.
Coach I make up for it next play.
Look at this hit.
That's the way set the Edge by the corner.
Back there.
Coming up.
Getting off the block of been it and making it nice, tfl at quarterback position.
That's hard.
Do make it a play while getting blocked at the quarterback position and says a lot while their number two, just a little things, got healing Johnson, fired up, Martin something good topic to throw.
Looking looking for Bennett in the endzone and finds him.
They did a great job by just finding the weakness in the coverage.
A cover to coverage by McEachern and a very nice soft cushion route Corner route to the end zone.
When ice 12-yard touchdown, pass from Britain Martin to Marcus Bennett Britain, Martin second touchdown pass of the night.
He had one earlier to Jordan Mathis this time, he finds Marcus Bennett who's played both ways tonight and played both ways very well.
The Foie are devoid areas.
In the defense of cover 2, is going to be the middle of the field and the weakness of the between the cornerback in the sacred, maybe have to get a good job of finding that.
So just like that, it's 37 223 with 1112 to go in the game at your tcsg touchdown, replay Britain, Martin to Marcus Bennett, we found avoid right there between the corn into safety.
Nice pitch, kit spot a receiver and the quarterback.
We've got ourselves a football game.
Don't go anywhere.
The final level 12 coming up on GPB.
37:23 at northcut Stadium.
We got ourselves a ball game as Marietta's.
Put their second touchdown on the board here in the second half, that young man right there.
Marcus Bennett caught, the 12 yard pass from Britain, Martin 11 plays 59 yards, 359 on the tcsg scoring Drive summary and Keelan Johnson.
McEachern has shown you why the number two team in the state but Marietta has really answered back big, what you talk about, the time of possession to 21 minutes and forth.
It s at Marietta had the football.
The mceachin has had the ball 14 minutes and 56 seconds.
You know, you look at the scoreboard.
You would think it should be reversed, but the type of office that McKay she brings to the table, they can score any time.
They want.
It took advantage some turnovers here and there and marry at just just now starting to catch up with the in Shannon's kick sales out of the end zone.
And let's take a look at who comes in for quarterback here for McEachern.
As tie Clemens was forced to go out the play before the Ali.
Chubb, touchdown on their previous possession.
It looked like he had concussion-like symptoms on the sidelines.
Coach Hockman told us that Andrew Tarver the junior might play backup quarterback tonight from the Wildcat.
If Clemens went out injured and let's see what happens.
And there is Andrew Heyward.
Now Hayward is listed as the backup W. Receiver that looks like he's going to hold down the quarterback responsibilities for the remainder of this football game.
He lines up in the pistol and here's chub off the left side and he picks up six yards on first down and I have to imagine Keelan.
It's going to be a heavy dose of the Run game for the Indian I was just going to say I was going to see, you're going to see a lot of chub in the fourth quarter.
Just for the simple fact that He's the best threat back there in the back field.
You do not have tie Clemens anymore back.
Therefore, as a full quarterback, but you definitely have some ideas.
You can Dependable his hat, had some success in the running game.
Give the ball to chug, let him close the deal for you.
Hey, if you don't get the first down Panthers and shorts, where the case may be your defense, playing pretty good football and there is chub up the middle.
He's tackled by Corbin Miller the linebacker and it's not often that you see McEachern.
Come out in a to tied in set, rarely will they get understand Center.
They'll still run the pistol out of that but I agree, you've got to lose you.
Chubby came into this football game with 142 yards and a touchdown.
He's added another touchdown to his totals.
He did that just a few minutes ago, he missed all last season, with a knee injury that he is their big Bruiser.
But for a heavy dose of number 33, Over the next 10 minutes and 12 seconds.
And we haven't seen much of of Griffin.
I think you don't think that coach is going to see him to the side and just say, hey go ahead and give the ball to mention, shut up here, and a good player has great vision, is it's down south Runner, he protects the ball, most important Griffin, you know, it's not in the game but he carried the ball six times tonight for 43 yards with a touchdown and Andrew Heyward, running.
Over to the sideline between, plays to get the play directly from coach Hockman, he's paying his dues.
Absolutely pistol formation, again, two tight ends.
And again, the chub for the fourth play in a row, and a nice spin move, and somehow chug keeps his feet.
He goes down around Midfield.
It's another McEachern first down.
That's a football player.
I really like to see athletes to control their bodies, as are falling down losing control of their body, Amon back foot, that left hand down doing a spin, move, while getting hit that, just speaks to the athletes that they have in McEachern offense.
Look at that, right there now.
Nice aggressive play and if McEachern can run the ball like that they'll be more than happy to try to Salt away.
The remaining nine minutes of this football game up by two touchdowns Mariette has done a great job to pull through with into stores and even with their backup, quarterback on the field.
And the kitchens moving the football hated will carry the ball for the first time tonight.
He's into space for an 8-yard game.
Before being taken down by Isaiah born just shy of the 40 yard line, guys, an athlete.
He plays receivers to back up receiver behind their number.
Let's play on the team TJ, and he has busy, he knows what's going on.
He can see the lanes.
He just have to protect the ball because when you're the quarterback and your new, everybody's looking to you to lead them this don't say a lot about his leadership tonight.
See if I can continue this dry and seen a lot of number 53 for Marietta Isaiah born on defense even though he's not listed on the too deep.
He is there valedictorian and starting center and he makes another tag.
Well there, but in the process, Chubb, picks up another McEachern first down.
One thing I really didn't like when I play high school football, man, when I played football in high school was I running over to the sideline, getting to play, running, running back to the Huddle then trying to speak and then going out there performing a lot of responsibility.
And again it's Chubby's got some daylight in the Bruiser gets down inside the 30 yard line and now they're picking up yards and chunks, they haven't gone to the air yet on this drive.
No.
Need baby is no need.
You can look at this Marietta defense.
You know these guys have been playing very good tonight.
You know going to get the number two offense in the in the state of Georgia.
Making some big plays, big hits.
And you can see the body language is kind of tired right now.
That's what he is wearing down.
Absolutely, they're taking their time their sweet time between snaps 7:15 to go in the game.
It's chub again and his offensive line does a great job and he can't quite get past the grasp of number 18, Ontario Les, The senior linebacker takes chub down for no game.
That's the first time we've been able to say that Chubbs had his way so far in this drive so we've been jumping them off all night.
Yes you have chub not a huge guy Keelan 58.
185 pounds coach said he's not really the typical fullback because of the way he can run and Slash and he's proven that in this drive right now, it looks pretty big to me.
He's had seven carries out of the eight plays on this drive and they'll go heavy on.
2, jumbo its job.
Same play, they scored the touchdown on the router is in the open field.
Ten five.
And he goes down at the five yard line, and just about scores a touchdown.
You like to see that, man, you know, heavy jumbo, as a play where you see all the BT offensive lineman.
Get get, get some more reps. You have no receivers.
You have some D lineman in the game in the backfield and they almost bustle.
Nice score.
This great blocking up front.
And great running budget.
We've seen in the early weeks to is coaches taking their best defensive players and moving them in on goal, line, and short yardage situations.
And you've seen number 98 in the Kinsley Billingsley in the game, and he's been in the game.
The last two plays he remains in right now.
Its first down and goal from the seven yard line as McEachern tries to put an exclamation point on this football game and try and put it Out Of Reach and it's chub again in the Wildcat.
He scored a touchdown earlier in the game from the same formation and we'll try to do it again.
And the kitchen can't quite get.
It Marietta says no sir and you see a lot of NFL team starting to do this a lot.
You see a lot of college teams doing that bringing those deal, I mean, over putting them in a fullback position or putting them in the tight end position.
Just to just to get a vantage on the offense side, the ball when it comes to hats and aggressiveness in body size.
And we've got a flag.
Yeah, we got a little jump, Antonio Valentine the Right Guard, left guard there jumped and you know if we can see it clearly from up in the booth that it was pretty egregious.
Yeah.
And hochman making some Personnel changes here.
You see a good look of it right here?
Clock continuing to run 5:24 to go in the game 37.
223 McEachern leads Coast talk about Valentine and he talked about how smart he was and he's one of those guys that always asking so many questions and and he's number three and he's number.
He's actually yeah wonders.
This is a smart guy and it does everything.
He's totally is very good for school and its offensive line did a great job tonight.
Hey, where'd the chubby can't quite get into the end zone.
They'll Mark the ball at the 40 yard line.
It'll be third and goal from their clock continuing to run down inside five minutes.
Just shy the four and a half minute mark.
Andrew Heyward in the pistol, chub the Deep back he's carried it all but two plays of this drive and he gets it here again and he's in for the McEachern touchdown.
His second of the night he scored the last two touchdowns for the Indians and that one might seal the deal.
Very nice aggressive run their diving to get the touchdown.
See him.
Limping limping over there.
Hope he's all right.
Here's our tcsg touchdown replay a lazy chubs second, touchdown of the night.
No starting quarterback.
No problem, says McEachern.
It's a nice lead up front off the left, side of the offense 255 pounds over there at 62 Right Guard, excuse me left guard and left tackle Valentine another 255 pound.
Lineman, you can see, they really like running to that side of the offense.
Great job.
Blocking by the big guys up front.
Can't say enough about these guys Uche and kathi with the lead block, allowing chub to get into the end zone for the second time tonight.
Chubb, carrying the ball all, but two times in that possession as McEachern goes from spread it out and sling it around to blue-collar, run it down your throat football.
And they have success Luce number three in his class.
And he talked about how smart these Dolphins alignment, is number three in the classroom sinner, CJ, It's the smartest guy in school.
He's a valedictorian.
You see, at least you chub, 17, carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
He had 76 of those yards on the last Drive feeling.
Wow, that's awesome.
Milking the clock, man.
That's what they really want to do.
So weight is one thing.
That one thing that you really want to do, you want to win on the road and for McEachern to be the number two, team in the state, they have to be able to win on the road when you when you, when you can go in someone else's house and really control the clock, really?
Manage the game, really.
Take the stands out of the, take the fans out of the stands.
Take them out of the game, you can do a lot that says a lot about your program.
As you can see, people running to the exits and the stadium where the stadium was packed tonight.
Four minutes, 19 seconds left in the game and they did their job TJ, Bullock the injured Blue Devil down in the end zone.
Had a couple guys go down.
Luckily so far every one of them have been able to get up and walk off under their own power.
So next week he'll and we've got a huge game in DeKalb County.
Oh yeah.
As Stephenson plays Southwest DeKalb, I'm looking for for this one baby, not only do you have to Fantastic football teams but you have two of the best bands anywhere and I know we're speaking your language now.
What's up baby?
It's a doubleheader out there at hallford stadium so we'll catch a the tail end of the first game will have a full all access pass, followed by kickoff between Stephenson and Southwest Academy.
Want to talk about rivalries Stevenson of Southwest DeKalb, one of the biggest ones in the state.
Yeah, man, this is really good.
I can't take being that type of atmosphere or you can have the band's cranking on both sides of the field.
It's going to be noise and crowd noise is going to be up.
And, you know, I grew up in that type of atmosphere and play high school ball in those type of atmosphere.
So, you know, it's kind of, when I went to Georgia, I didn't get that type A here.
We have a block of p80.
So, Dominguez is p80, not good.
First Miss p80.
Of the night.
Thank Nellie may get in and try to direct the band again.
I already did some directing lashes.
Oh you bet your bottom dollar that he will find his way over there to the band if they let him, they're not going to be able to keep him off.
So Dominguez, who was 14 of 16 s on phe coming in?
Just missed another one.
It's 43, 223 McEachern has the lead for 19 to go This is a GPB original production.
No, I just wanted to figure out how and when you wanted me to handle the history lesson in the Expansion Project and all that kind of stuff and how we can talk about that puzzle.
Do that right now man?
Yeah I agree.
Welcome back to northcut Stadium 4323.
McEachern has the lead for 19 to go in this football game.
The number two ranked team in the state has shown up and show now big, but they've lost their starting quarterback in the process as Thai Clemens is out with concussion-like symptoms, but it didn't stop the McEachern.
Indians from scoring on a nice long.
Touchdown Drive capped off.
Bye.
Ann Eliza Chubb.
Touchdown run.
Feature Now, set to kick the ball off.
Jordan Mathis and kurvanti Benson back deep to receive for the Blue Devils.
We thank you for joining us tonight.
Train McDaniel, kylan Johnson, and John Nelson with you on football Fridays in Georgia.
And then this one rolls down inside the five yard line and is taken by Benson and get us.
Some nice block by Jordan, Matheson goes down to 24.
We sit downstairs now, to John Nelson, our resident historian for our history lesson.
Well, it's a bit of a history lesson and it's also looking into the crystal ball a little bit.
By the time, the Marietta Blue Devils take to the field here at northcut stadium in 2015.
This place is going to look a little different.
There was a seven million dollar local option sales tax that was passed and the stadium is you see it?
Now was originally constructed as part of a WPA project back in 1939 40 and 41 they initially.
Played right next door where they have all of the tailgating at Brown's Park.
This was created, and then it's been renovated over and over again in the 50s.
And then again in the 60s in the 80s by 2015, on the home side, where the Press Box is, we're going to add another 12 rows worth the seats and they're also going to renovate the visitors side as well but there are going to be some elements here at North cut.
The are going to stay.
You're going to have the wall.
Stay the the rock wall.
It's been covered over in the North End Zone.
That's going to stay the memorial for Big Bend Wilkins over on the right hand side in the South End Zone, that's going to stay as well.
So they're going to be certain elements of this place that they wanted to keep the charm.
But at the same time, guys, they also wanted to build and make the place a little modern and maybe even the same time kind of keep the same home field advantage is that they've had in the past because everyone says, when it comes to Northcutt, you don't get a call at northcut Stadium.
It's going to be kind of cool to see how things evolve in 2014 by we get.
By the time we get to 2015, John.
We love this kind of stuff up here.
In the booth, I'm an old school guy.
I like the charm and the intimacy of the Fenway Park's and Wrigley Fields of the world and I love coming here to morph but you know the old you know cracks in the wall and the chipped paint.
That's all part of the charm here and that's why we all love it.
And that's why the folks here in Marietta love it as well.
So I'm glad that the Blue Devils will continue to call this place home and it'll be nice to see what it will look like here in a couple of years.
Yeah, this place definitely needs, it needs a facelift, you know it you know you need a little bit more room.
Umm, when it comes to parking me a little bit more room on the sidelines, but I really like how it's action packed.
The fans are right on top of each other players.
It keeps you in tune to the game and it makes the, it gives the player a challenge to to stay.
Stay with me, motivated and pay attention during the game too.
Yeah, a hard for those for those flesh of to pay attention at the same time and I'll key and you're talking about it, they the Nets that were added behind the goal post, they didn't used to be there when you had field goal.
Kickers kicking probably 10 or Years ago, back when I was a young lad back in high school you would kick the footballs either onto the street into the guys front yard.
Like we had earlier today off the school bus and into the front yard or in the southern end zone, you're kicking it into the guys backyard.
Yeah.
And that always added to the charm here as well.
So you know, when you have a place like this, when everybody says you're going to Northcutt everyone here knows about the charm in the history and how cool to place it really is.
And when you think about it in six, T6 we talked about the Lemon Street championship for a Gia winning for the African-American schools.
They played the championship game here against Thomasville Douglas Lemon Street had their own place but they moved it here for the championship game.
So that could be played for a bigger audience in 66 and here goes Brett and Martin looking deep to Jordan Matheson.
He catches it and he said to the end zone for the touchdown great coverage by Ramona Parsons, but a better catch by Jordan math is his second of the night.
49 yards with a blue devil touchdown.
Well, back in the day when I first stop playing defensive back you come you can be on top of a guy, but if he catches the ball on you, it's not a great coverage.
So it's a great catch by the receiver Matheson's are obviously, they've been their number one, target all night and we talked a lot about him and what he brings to the table for this football club.
His daddy plate play football in the NFL for nine years so you can really see the Raw Talent he has.
And is definitely, he definitely got his dad's genes in them.
Mathis has had an impressive night tonight, both returning kicks and catching passes from Brett, and Martin.
That's Brent, Martin's, third, touchdown, pass to go along with a touchdown run and the Marietta Blue Devils just simply will not go away.
You know, we talked about it early in the show.
29 to 28 was the score of last year's game.
And last year, last year's game they want about 1.4 teacher did and, and that lets me know, it was gonna go down to the wire.
Cheers game is going to be something that's going to be close because he's both these ball clubs.
Love their schools and they're going to fight hard for it.
Let's take another look at that touchdown.
Brought to you by tcsg and walk us through killing.
It was a beautiful pass.
This is just nice little play action, fake in the backfield, and this is a nice Street, you know, receivers job is to stack the cornerback.
You want to put that corner back behind you and get on top of his toes.
So he can't.
Destruct disrupt, the football, and once it receivers in front of you, if it's a good.
Throwing Ball nine times out of 10, it's going to be a touchdown of the receiver catches it and that is definitely came down with that big catch, Mathis came into the game with 12 receptions for 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the season.
He's doubled up those touchdown numbers tonight.
Catching the first one of the night.
The very first touchdown we saw here and right now he's caught the last one.
We've got a minute 45 to go in the game.
Who knows if we'll see another one but one thing I will say I'm very impressed with the Marietta Blue Devils and their resiliency and I think it comes directly from coach Scott Burton.
Oh yes definitely speed of L the speed of the pack and you know this coach definitely is fired up.
He's not going to stop coaching this ball.
The team he's not going to start coaching this this football club because it's not over till the fat lady sings and a lot.
Like it's a lot of football, still be plays a minute, 45 seconds, I'm sure they're gonna come out here and try offsides kick and try to get and try to get within a possession of a football game here.
They're going on here to make a score.
Now, we know the Howitzer for a leg that he and Shannon has Is now, we'll have to put a little finesse on it, as they will undoubtedly go for the onside kick with a minute 45 to go down by 13.
Really the second quarter was dominated by McEachern but the other three quarters Keelan have been pretty Square.
Yes, they really have.
Now, this is going to be a attempt of all size cake here and it's going to be kick to the right side of the field.
They've got players on both sides.
Here's the Shannon onside kick and they'll whistle this dead before they get underway likely an offside.
Once again, by the kit cover team for the Blue Devils.
Sometimes you get those young players out there, don't really see the field much and they forget about details.
All sizes kick is meant for you to stay back.
How are you off?
Sighs on the off, side kick.
Goats is going to talk to him after that when he gets an asylum.
So Shannon gets a redo here.
To the right side the first time, and he'll try it again.
Oh, it about Glenn Frazier, tries to come up and get it.
He gets a second chance and is able to reel it in between the 45 and 50 yard line.
It looked like for a second that the ball is going to hit the turf and my partner up here.
Got pretty excited.
I got pretty excited.
I thought he was going to take that over to the house and I saw him jumping.
I saw him, jump it, the linebacker, Glenn Frazier.
It was nobody in front of him but then he dropped the ball and I was like Hey Y'all for the hop on that football cause it's your ball.
That was a look.
What I found moment as a check right back up into the linebackers arms tray.
Have you ever got the opportunity to touch the ball on the defense side of Balkan defensive players?
You know, we'd get a chance to test the peeled off that now?
No.
No.
Just recovering a couple fumbles but that's about it.
So you never had a scoop and score.
No, I wish I could say that I did but if I told you that I'd be lying John Keep it on the up-and-up here on football Fridays.
Hayward remains in as the quarterback and they give it to Ryan Sherman off the left side, and the senior, plows his way into Marietta territory.
I won't have Nellie.
Got any updates for us on the soils.
Georgia high school scores on Friday night for tonight.
Clock continuing to run.
Marietta does have all three of their timeouts, but since they were not able to recover, the onside kick, I think this one is all but over as Hockman since Carver in with the play, And Keel.
And so far, I've been very impressed with this McEachern team.
They're the number two, team in the state of Georgia, very deserving of that ranking, but I've been equally impressed with the resiliency of Marietta.
I think this team has the chance to be a playoff team.
Although they are going to start their region schedule with an Owen to record what you got for us.
Now, we want some you want some scores kiai, what's up babe?
Well Thompson came back to beat LaGrange.
128.
They were down 3112.
Thomas County Central beat Tiff's.
It was Twenty Eight, twenty one and that one.
Oh, by the way, we don't have a Daytona Beach.
Mainland score for me.
Oh, really check in on that.
There you go.
See us, come on.
Now, we got other stuff going on to.
I'm just scanning scores but Shelly moves to 3 and 0 with a 6014 whenever bacon to and Charter.
There's the Thompson scored again Peachtree, Ridge beat Mill Creek, 3130, that's a huge game in that region is obviously about to ask about these guys there.
We go down the line, we'll head out there and catch coach Hockman for us.
As the number two ranked team in the state has improved their record to foreign do.
They are now 2 and 0 in the region Marietta Falls to 0 into and the only state championship to ever be one in Cobb County was one in 1967 by Marietta, and now McEachern the number two team in the state, has their sights set on one so far so good at 40.
Yeah, they win this football game by a score of 43 230 over their archrival Marietta teaches, his did a really good job tonight by just managing the clock.
Put the ball into play makers.
Hands tie.
Clemens, this did an unbelievable job.
I manage this football club into the third quarter till he got knocked out.
But great, but job by both ball clubs Marietta's just didn't have to enough fighting them tonight and mceachin show, why they're the number two team in the state.
All right, let's throw it downstairs.
To John Nelson standing by with big Kyle Hockman.
Thanks guys here with a head coach.
And you know, you came out with a win, the Delta was pretty big by the end of it, 19, 20 points but it was another tough test out there.
The good ball Club.
You know, they got some really good athletes, coach Burton does a great job.
They're just well coached and and it's always a battle and you know you get a win over here it's it's a big win for us and just got to thank thank God for For all our good players and our blessings.
The same time though, you got some injuries to look at going forward to.
Oh yeah, we're bank.
That's 68 football, you know, it's uh it's tough now and we got some depth so we're blessed but I think, you know, quarterbacks fine and tailbacks going to be, you know, week for a while.
That's how he has been all season.
But you can see some obvious explosiveness out of those two when they're, they're so so we'll be fine and we got a lot of good players so we're just next guys.
Step Up.
Up solid.
When Kyle thanks for your time.
You bet, love you guys, send it back upstairs.
