- I have a disease called interstitial cystitis and I am sensitive to dietary acid.

And my husband and I decided to start a business.

And so this, a little over a decade later is the evolution of that.

I was committed to helping people who had this disease and now we have a food and beverage additive, that helps reduce acid to improve the quality of lives of those people.

Phase Acid Reducer is actually the evolution of over a decade of research, and time that I have spent devoting my background in business to helping patients with interstitial cystitis, and other people with sensitivity to dietary acid.

My husband James and I realized that there was a need in the marketplace for this product.

We had tried other products that were supposed to do the same thing, and none of them really offered what we were looking for which was, something all natural that could be created with mostly pantry ingredients and would be safe for people of all types to use.

So the process of manufacturing Phase Acid Reducer actually takes place in a licensed shared use commercial kitchen.

We take a blend of proprietary ingredients and we stabilize them in a liquid.

All of these things are probably pantry ingredients that you have at home.

And then we make them in small batches, and we bottle them with care right here in Medina, Ohio.

We label them, and then we ship them all over the world to people just like you.

(upbeat music) What a lot of people don't realize about food and beverage acid sensitivity is that, it can be very limiting.

It takes away not only staples like your morning coffee but a tremendous range of foods are very acidic.

And what we found was that the lifestyle changes that were there were able to be overcome when we added a little bit of Phase Acid Reducer to our food and beverages.

In the future we'd really like to see Phase Acid Reducer available in drug stores and holistic stores, as well as distribution in places like Target and Giant Eagle.

One of the really neat things about being an entrepreneur specifically here in Northeast Ohio, is the variety of programs and options that are available.

My own company was started with a grant from an incubator that was nearby that was working with my college, and there are lots of options out there.
