This is K-9 Kallie.

She is an explosive detection dog.

She's almost five years old.

We were first a team together and went to a K-9 school back in 2019.

We both went into it brand new I didn't have much explosives knowledge, and she wasn't trained to detect anything at all.

We went to school for a few months, came back - and it's ongoing training - but we were certified in 2019 and been working together ever since.

Come.

We're the only bomb dog team north of the cities.

So if another agency requests us, we can come out.

But otherwise we're available to sweep for any explosives.

We currently have three K-9s.

We have two labs.

One is a drug detection dog.

And then we have Kallie, who is the explosive detection.

And then we have one patrol dog.

Yes!

Good Kal.

If she's going around looking for explosives and she finds one, she gets a toy after.

She gets her playtime.

So that explosive odor is her toy to her and it's all a game to them.

And they love doing it.

[sniffing] We're always together at home, at work.

And so it's a cool bond between us.
