During an emergency, ASL interpreters translate spoken information from government leaders and first responders into sign language to communicate with people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.

I'm very proud of my job because I relay information between people who are hearing and peopl who are deaf or hard of hearing.
I am an American Sign Language interpreter, also called an ASL interpreter.
Some scary things happene recently, but I want you to know that there are a lot of grown ups in our community working to keep you safe.
During an emergency, ASL interpreters translate spoken information from government leaders and first responders into sign language to communicate with peopl who are deaf or hard of hearing.
ASL interpreters make sure everyone has information that keeps us safe and helps us understand wha is happening in our community.
