Today we're here at Art in the Park in Moose Lake.

I'm blacksmithing on-site and have my goods for sale.

I got started blacksmithing because there was a young guy at work wanting to get into blacksmithing and asked if I had an anvil and vice to sell.

Plus, I had that stuff, but I didn't really want to sell it.

I got to thinking, well, why don't I start blacksmithing?

You can be creative.

You can be making useful things.

What could not be fun about hitting things with a hammer?

You can take out all those frustrations on the anvil and you'll be fine.

This is where some of the art comes in, and I am not an artist, but this is where I get artistic.

I'll try to use found metal.

It might be an old railroad spike.

It might be an old wrecking bar.

It might be whatever I come across.

If I'm not paying for it, but I can use it as--you know, that's one good thing.

It's an--blacksmithing is one of the older forms of recycling we use.

It's been around for centuries.
