Lt. Gov. Tahesha Way and Judge Esther Salas are reportedly on placeholder list

New Jersey Democrats and Gov. Phil Murphy are doing the political math as they consider a "placeholder" for Bob Menendez's U.S. Senate seat. Menendez submitted his letter of resignation Monday, effective Aug. 20, after a Manhattan jury found him guilty on 16 felony counts last week. His Senate term ends in January.
