As the President reflected on his first year in office, this weekend protesters nationwide took to the streets as the government shut down. The number of homeless New Yorkers hits an all-time high, as many turn away from the city’s shelters, opting instead for the streets of Manhattan. In recent years tensions between the police and the public in the U.S. have escalated.
