Two teachers are getting recognition and a nice check to go with it.
Jacob Ball is an agriculture teacher at Carter G. Watson Academy in Lexington.
He just won $25,000 as part of the Milken Educator Awards.
Ball is a 13 year teaching veteran being praised for getting minority students interested in agriculture.
He was shocked when he won, but he had some advice for other teachers.
And I guess I would say to educators that to keep doing your best every day in the classroom, it's not about the words like this.
It's about the conversations I had with my scholar last night about him telling me he wants to be a teacher.
You know, when you when you have those conversations, those are just just as impactful and meaningful as a recognition like this.
But this is this is truly amazing.
Shane Baker, a teacher at Jennings Creek Elementary in Bowling Green, is also a Milken Educator Award winner.
And congrats to both of them.
