The governor's office of Highway Safety, reminding you to buckle up Georgia, that Shawn Nelson, typing away vigorously.
I'm Hannah Gooden.
We had a hundred and twenty-eight teams in action tonight and tomorrow narrowing that down to 64 and we're getting very, very close.
We're only missing a few A few final scores.
That's why I'm typing then that is why John's typing our game was Mill Creek versus North Cobb Mill, Creek 143 27 and John that was a surprising score.
I mean, it was just heavy duty from Mill Creek, out of the blocks.
And it was, I mean, literally, we had two teams in the GPB tomten and they were going at it and a lot of folks were sitting there thinking, okay, this is going to be a game that if you were to sit there and do the Matt Stewart Power Rankings that this would be a game that would be either next weekend or two weekends from Now, as you're filling out your brackets in pain, but Mill Creek, ever since the loss to Buford, and this is a point that we've been making here on GPB ever since that loss to Buford that made them the two-seat out of that region.
They have been putting the pedal down on their opponents and it happened again tonight against a very very tough.
North Cobb team at home.
All right, we're going to break down seven a later in the show, but our very first bracket we want to show it finger.
Laid Vision to John what happened tonight.
Look at that, all filled out beautiful.
It is all filled.
It is all filled out on the right hand side.
Clinch County had to scored two times in the final three minutes to come from behind to beat MCA Johnson County.
We know about their pedigree with their great running game Wilcox and Sly to Old region Rivals.
I get to go at it.
Lincoln County do Lee County and a shocker in overtime.
And that leads us to the upper corner.
With some guys who've been at the top of the rankings, all season long in class single lady to.
Yes, we have Bowden head coach Richard thinly here to talk about the event over.
Oh man, Chester 42 to 21.
Coach, tell me about that victory tonight.
Well, I'm extremely extremely proud of our players.
You know, this was a rematch game from week one, when we open the season with Manchester, because we knew they were going to be a good football team and, you know, can get us ready for these playoff games and little bit.
We know we get them in round 2, in the rematch.
Games are tough because number one, you know, they want a little Revenge.
They want to come play in.
That's your tail for getting on the first time and then they've seen you on film.
They seen you in person, so they kind of know what you did, well in there.
Figure out a way to stop it.
So really proud of our players and our coaches for the game plan.
They put in this week coach.
You've been one of those teams at the top of the rankings in D2 all season long.
How have you been able to tune out?
The noise from folks like me and Hannah so you could focus on the task in hand and get to the next round of the playoffs.
I'm glad you said that because boy, that's a Target.
That's a bull's-eye.
His rat poison.
We appreciate people giving us love and No, talking up our program but you know, soon as you get that number one ranking, you get everybody's best football game and that's kind of how we've approached it.
We told our kids all year that you're going to get everybody's best game.
Whether they're tender know, whether they're 46.
You know, whether they're one in nine.
So we approach each day you try to do things, you know, the right way.
All during the week, do things the right way and hopefully by Friday.
You're ready to play football?
No more rat poison for me coach.
Just facts have not gotten to The corner vinyls since 2013, you will now, face, early County, what do you need to work on to prepare for them?
Well, I haven't seen a whole lot of film on them yet, but I do know this, you know, coaches say it all the time.
If you make it to the quarterfinals, everybody that's left is good enough to beat you and good enough to win the State title.
So you know, we got to make sure we're healthy next week.
That's going to be the big vein is kind of lay off the hitting on our kids early in the week or you know get get the Hitman out early in the week and lay off toward the end and cut their legs.
Under you know we got to get prepared to make a road trip, a three-hour trip down to early County but I don't know enough about Yet.
Don't know what.
We got to work on.
I hear they're really, really good.
So we better be ready to play coach Ben Lee.
Congratulations on advancing to the quarterfinals, and thank you so much for the time this evening.
Thank you very much.
I'll keep doing the great work out to thank you.
Goodbye.
Thank you.
Thanks coach.
All right, John that's upper left and single leg Vision to Let's zoom in.
Alright, so let's zoom in let's work our way from the left all the way to the right and show you how we got to this particular moment in time, obviously Manchester we follow them through Bowden, had the number had Their opening round game against Aquinas winning 42 to 14, they work their way through tonight against Manchester.
We talked about the matchup with early County with Coach Finley, then on the bottom side of things, ECI, Telfair Telfair.
Got the win last week.
They're going up against early County tonight, early County, one of the top-ranked teams in the division all season long.
Right here, early County works their way.
Three early County, they scored 60 in round one against Turner County.
They scored 47 in round two tonight in knocking off Telfair County.
Great season for Matt Burleson and Telfair County.
So once again, as you work your way through Bowden doubles up Manchester tonight.
Early County puts up, 47, two teams, put up 40s and that's where you are upper left when you're looking at this particular bracket.
So that's the way it is upper left and we can fill that one out.
Now in pain, we promised more 7A.
So, that's where we're going to go next John, we will zoom into that upper left quadrant after we talk to a coach, but let's take a look at the big picture.
Our game tonight Mill Creek, 143 27, they will face Westlake who won 3228 over Parkview.
Couple of folks that we're still waiting for some returns on the low side.
There of the bracket on the bottom, half North Gwinnett was in a fight tonight, against Lambert Colquitt County was in a fight early against Harrison Walton.
And Buford, that one still going on late second, half Carrollton, was even early with Marietta.
Then they put the pedal down, then you got weslake in Mill Creek.
We've been talking about that one because of the game on our are still waiting for the conclusion of Norcross and Milton great.
Jason was really tight with Camden early before they got the win.
So you've got a lot of heavy weights, a lot of the Blue Bloods coming through working their way into the quarterfinals here in Savannah.
You're right.
John.
It was back and forth with North Gwinnett and Lambert North Gwinnett.
Pulled it out 3835, we have head, coach Bill Stewart here to talk to us about the game and Coach.
You are no stranger to playoffs 18 of the last 19 years you have been here.
Congratulations on advancing.
Tell us about this dog fight tonight.
Yeah, we started off real fast and looking like we were we were going to run them out of the stadium early and if they are there and their kids play really hard and so they were able to put together some scores and and then and then they kind of slimy just a little bit offensively.
And then, you know, so going into a half we were we were up by three then they went ahead.
With the first touchdown in the second half.
And then then from there we kind of settled down and made some big plays authentically and defense and then we just grinded it out at the end.
One of those game winners with like four minutes left where, you know, annotated McDonald.
You know, he kind of led the charge and him and Grant Godfrey and Tyler Walton when we go far in our big group and they kind of just crime with the the time.
I'm So coach, what does it like for you?
With a very young team that we saw very early this season here on football Fridays, what's it like to see these guys mature before your eyes and do it really well to get you into that third game here in season 3?
Yeah, it's really awesome.
My me, you know, like I said, when you follow us early, we not only were we playing a bunch of young guys.
We also had, you know about because of it, but Get back in our groove, our quarterback sophomore, or we got sophomore, linebacker, sophomore, severs, and Stage go.
You know, we just have, we have some guys in you to get better.
And now, they're getting that playoff experience van and and, you know, when you get down in a game like this and some bad things happen, you know, that's one of those off Moore's, you know, they learn a lot through that time because In playoffs.
All the matters is that you leave with the wind, you know, whether it's, you know, seven to nothing or whether it's 3835.
And so you just learn how to keep playing until you get that win.
And so a lot of us, a lot of mistakes, but but I felt that our kids just play and until you finish coach.
Stewart, you will advance to play Colquitt County.
We cannot wait to watch that one.
I have It circled and highlighter.
Thank you so much for the time and congratulations on the big win.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
Okay, John upper left seven a let's let's push it.
All right so let's go ahead and push in and lay it all out for you.
Hannah told you the end of the story with North Gwinnett and Colquitt County right here.
North Gwinnett.
Once again 38 against Lambert in the wind tonight.
Colquitt County.
We talked about how tough this one was early on and Colquitt County wins.
4928.
So Colquitt Works their way through North Gwinnett gets to pack a lunch in a Her work their way down to the Hog, Pen to take on Colquitt County, but working back to the Path.
North Gwinnett, heat Dacula and round.
One Colquitt County, beat the brook and round 1.
So the brook Harrison, you get North Gwinnett, North Gwinnett beats Dacula, they beat Lambert.
You get Colquitt County.
So, that's the way it looks right.
Now, when you're looking at seven, a upper left, which you can fill out in pain.
Let's go down.
One classification, 26a, John, and upper.
Right.
Quadrant here.
Use is going to be Be a tough matchup Woodward Academy, no doubt about it.
And, you know, we got to see them on football Fridays in the winner-take-all to decide the region Championship with South Paulding.
We've seen the kind of team that Langston Hughes has been offensive, ly, staggering numbers on the scoreboard.
All season long tonight was no different, but once again, you've got a lot of the Blue Bloods here, Roswell Thomas County, Central Gainesville, Roman Marist, a lot of the blue Bloods here in 6A as well as we get to the quarterfinals.
And still waiting on the final in North Italy County, okay?
We are going to talk to Woodward Academy head coach John Hunt here to tell us about his game.
Congratulations on advancing to the quarterfinals coach tell us about this 6:37 win.
A day.
What it was an exciting game.
All credit goes to our defense though.
They were outstanding all all game you know they meant a little bit, had a couple dates, stop fourth down stops, done in our territory and they did a tremendous job of whole time offensively.
We just made enough plays were able to view a few touchdowns in there and and of course our special Contains with our kick or gosh.
Hudson Ang is it 247 yarders and so it was a good team win for us, coach you mentioned special teams and I think that when you get into the postseason, especially if you can have a kicker that you can count on and it doesn't matter if he's a freshman or a sophomore as long as he can put the ball between the uprights when he's tapped on the shoulder by you to do it.
I think that that sets you apart from other teams that may not be as fortunate.
What's it like to have a special teams group?
That you can rely on especially here in season 3.
Is you're chasing a championship.
I mean, that is really big we talked about a little bit for the game that everybody had their contributes now that we're in the playoffs and everything you play is a good team and and it is really nice.
We had a great kicker previous couple years with Leigh Johnson and then Hudson hanges is our kicker this year and he stepped right up and puts many kickoffs in the end zone.
So therefore defense that to drive 80 yards on the defensive as On our defense, that's pretty difficult.
But he is really getting hottest in terms of his place, kicking the proud of the entire protection snap.
All the overall operation.
And he's just really hit me.
And that's really, really big because we're going to be pitching coach at Cedric Oglesby.
And I he he warms them up.
Every game tells me what yard line, he goes, hey, coach, I hate this yard line, we can make it and he says it would confidence.
And we hit that Online Weiss, you know, and forty seven dollars, I think, III got a 50 like things so long, but it's nice.
It's nice.
We're blessed.
And I'm happy that he's getting hot at this time of year coach.
You haven't been back to the quarter finals since 2019.
So congratulations.
Again, you will face Hughes.
How do you stop them offensive ly?
I don't know.
I don't think anybody has figured that out yet, but I do know this.
They'll get our absolute best.
From our defense or defense, you know, spectacular coaches, do it, unreal job, coaching them were smart bunch and you know, we're able to do different things and just on the run.
And so we're just kind of have to keep the one those type things next week and just give our very best effort, we're going to need some help, I'm sure we're going to be some turnovers and some big plays like we had today offensively.
But you know, It'll be a heck of a challenge now because everybody's struggling to kind of contain them.
I don't know if you can, but maybe we could just get some turnovers and couple big plays off as a way to make a game out of it.
Well, we will find out next week.
Coach, thank you so much for your time and have a good evening.
I appreciate.
Thank you.
Y'all have a great Thanksgiving.
Thank you, you too, okay?
John, that's the upper right quadrant fill us in on what happened with use tonight.
Alright, so here's your path, Hughes puts 77 on the board, 77 on the board against North Forsyth who you saw last week on football Friday.
So 49 in round one, once again, let's follow the path here.
So 49 in round one against River Ridge, 77 tonight against North Forsyth and that's where Woodward Academy gets Hughes coming up in the third round.
Let's follow Woodward academies path, they got the win against Riverwood, they beat them 4113.
Then tonight.
23:7 we mentioned the two field goals.
You also get a chunk play of north of 80 yards for Big touchdown against Lee County.
So once again, that's why we can fill up upper right in pan Woodward Academy with a tall order traveling to Hughes next week.
We took a look at single a division to.
Now, let's take a look at single a division one and John, what stands out to you here, we're all filled out.
Well, you've got an upset upper left darlington's.
Unbeaten season is over Mount Pisgah, gets the wind 2620 tonight, but their task will be very tough.
Line up against perennial power, Irwin County.
Once again, I think you look at numbers here.
You look at the numbers.
It's Waynesboro, put up tonight, they put up 57 Raven put up 42 st. Francis put up 34, Bleckley county, that got the siren tonight, or at least it should again.
But I don't know how much of it up set.
It is with Bleckley County, then, Prince Avenue Christian, put up 48, met her, and Dublin.
We said last week that the upper-right was regardless of classification, one of the toughest quadrants around And and both of them, all of these teams showed out tonight in the upper right-hand section with Dublin Mentor, Elbert County and Prince Avenue.
Well, let's go to one of those teams Prince Avenue Christian over County.
4814 John like you said, we have head coach, Greg Van de Graaff here to talk to us about the win.
One of the state's most prolific, passing teams and Coach.
How would you assess your quarterback?
Aaron.
Philo's performance tonight.
I did a great job tonight, probably through about 3350 the great job.
So coach, let me ask you this.
And I asked the question to Bowden coach Rich Finley over on the other side in D2.
And I said, with all of the attention that we give you knowing the expectations that you have on this team, how do you guys tune out all the noise that we create on a weekly basis?
So you can focus on the task at hand and chase after another championship.
Well, we're very fortunate.
We have 16 seniors and, you know, just being a more mature team with hopefully our third time try to make it state championship, we just talked about one week at a time.
That's it.
One week at a time, you are now 11 and 1 over the past 12 seasons in second round playoff wins, you will face Metter who beat Dublin 18 to nothing tonight.
Tell me how you're going to prepare for them.
We're looking film in the morning, she what they do.
I think there are wing-t team which is a traditional run, the ball a lot kind of thing and or a typical traditional throw it.
A lot kind of seems to be a little bit different because Vandergriff, thank you so much for your time and thanks for calling and as always.
Yeah, thank you so much.
Thank you.
Okay, John that is that top right, quadrant?
I know, I already gave them better score.
I spoiled it.
But take us through the pool.
But no, but to coach Van Der Grosse Point, I think that Next week with met her and Prince Avenue, you're going to get that dichotomy it literally is going to be okay.
If metal gets it their way, they're going to run the ball, they're going to run the ball.
And then what are they going to do?
On third down, Hanna, they're going to, they're going to run.
The ball matter is going to run the ball all night long.
If they get it their way, they're going to work the clock to make sure that are in phyllo and that passing offense for Prince Avenue.
Get as few a touch as a few of touches as possible.
Let me speak English, very good lie.
Late at night.
As field touches as pots as possible when it comes to that offense.
So Prince Avenue wants to go wide.
They want to go for why they want to sling it around the yard all night long met her.
They want to make sure that everything is done right there in the trenches.
It's going to be a great contrast of styles with meta and Prince Avenue up in Bogart next week.
So, let's look at the paths met her in round number one, put 42 on Temple, then we figured out once again with Dublin and met her.
You have two teams that want to do the same thing.
Literally it's like 22 guys meeting in a phone booth.
When it comes to both of these offenses trying to crash against each other and they do it the game pretty.
I think the game ended almost like two hours time 18 nothing to win.
Therefore matter they work their way through we've seen Prince Avenue prolific is always 47 in round, one against Mount Vernon 48 and round to against Elbert County.
So contrast the Styles here when you're looking top, right?
And that is why we can fill out this particular quadrant in pain was dichotomy, on Patty's list of words today, that's a, that's a joke that my wife She sits there and she also didn't give me a word that I can work into the broadcast.
No dichotomy is not okay but it is.
Spelled EI chot omy dichotomy.
Okay.
Well we just looked at this bracket single a division one.
We're going to go lower left here with head coach Scott Roberts, Waynesboro, defeated Screven County, fifty Seven, to thirteen.
Let's bring in coach Roberts, and Coach.
How did you stop Scrubs run game tonight?
Hey, Hannah.
Um, I need to ask to just been playing really well all year long and really physical and, you know, that's basically what we did.
We were we played really physical and he usually what the coaches asked him to do coach.
What's it been like to see this group mature, the way that they have to wear your numbers and especially the margins of Victory are pretty staggering at points for you especially this late in the season.
What's it like to see this group, especially the younger players mature to get you into the third game here in the postseason?
John, it's been.
It's been a lot of fun to go to work with these Woods.
I mean, this is the most unselfish group of kids I've ever been around.
They don't care who gets the credit.
They just want to win on day, they fight like crazy for each other.
You were in the semi finals last year but you'll have to get through Raven County first to get back there.
What's it going to take I mean, Ravens got a great football team, you know, we all know about the wide receiver but you know, they've got really good players on defense and offense all around them.
The quarterbacks a great player.
And you know what, it's going to take is just what we talked about my offseason.
You know, we had a lot of young kids last year on that semi final run, but just getting a year older was not going to get us where we want to be and these kids just went to work.
And, you know, we talked about in January When you nobody else is thinking about football, our kids were working like crazy.
And, you know, I know the work they put in and the results were getting right now at.
That's just a result of the work they put in and I just couldn't be happier for these kids coach Roberts.
Were you calling in from you at home?
That great lighting.
Back Fortune.
I knew it.
Well, thank you so much for calling and enjoy your evening and your Thanksgiving.
I coach.
Okay, John bottom-left.
What happened with Raven tonight?
Well, Raymond got the Duke and we'll catch up with a little birdie.
Told me that we're going to be catching up with the Ravens side of things here in just a sec.
So let's run through the bottom half and take it a path at a time.
So look at Swainsboro Swainsboro we've talked with Coach Roberts and I think that, as long as he keeps winning, I think he's going to want to continue to be on the post game show Pete coaches, believe in ritual.
So we might see him as long as he runs in the same with Coach Davis, might be coming up wing.
Nudge nudge.
All right.
So Swainsboro beats.
Bacon County in round one.
They shut him out.
47, nothing.
Then they put 57 on the board tonight against Kevin.
That gets you the half of the path, the lower part here, as we're filling things out low left.
And you know, we'll look at the other team that they're facing Rabun County.
Hannah, no, no, Hannah, you've been discussing, you know that Rabin and Swainsboro, they're going to be playing each other.
Next week low left is your filling out your brackets?
They are they are going to be playing each other.
Uh-huh.
I'm not do, I'm not sure of that.
I'm not sure that Coach.
Michael Davis is on just yet.
You know how technology works.
I know.
Yeah.
But, I mean, you know, you look at what Rabun County and I want to, I want to catch up with Coach Davis.
When technology, we're gonna try to bring a monochrome try to bring them all when technology allows, I mean, I'm no right now.
Okay, well, then right now Briggs do this.
Can you hear us?
Yes, I do it.
There it is, it is working.
Okay, so there he is.
There he is awesome.
Stop.
Okay, congratulations coach.
A drink straight second round wins.
You get the 40 to nothing win over.
Social Circle.
Tell us about your game and your defense.
Yes, it was told me Rob.
Again, trying to can try to factor this way.
We play really, really quick.
All year defensively our defense, our staff is that it just a tremendous job all year, where kids and, you know, I just I give them all the credit and, you know, tonight, we play really good offense with two.
We came out firing on all cylinders and you know, just over I had a just overall just a just a great team win.
One of the questions that I like to ask you and I've gotten to ask this question.
I guess in stages.
What has it been like for you as a first year?
Head coach to go on a ride like this long.
I'm assistant finally.
Now, a head coach, what's it like for you to be a head coach on a run like this?
Well, most of the time, I feel like I'm drinking water so far homes.
I mean, it's just something else the other place and that's what's made the transition.
The head coach and like I said you were in the quarterfinals last year so you're very familiar with being on a big stage you will face Swainsboro what are your keys to the game?
Well, you know, we we've just got to keep doing what we do.
We gotta have a great week of preparation.
I'm what, you know, swings Burrows, you know, we've talked to some people.
We know they're really good football team.
You know, we just got to do what we do.
We got, we got play Rabun County football and play, keep playing great defense, and just make plays on offense and be good in the kicking game.
We've had a really good year with our special teams, and we just got to, you know, continue to do those things.
I think we will have a chance coach Davis.
I'm so glad your connection cooperated and we were able to talk to you.
Thank you so much for your time.
Well, I gotta give a shout out to my daughters.
His own producers for the segment.
I see how this works.
So awesome.
Well, thank you, ladies, and thank you, coach.
Y'all have a great Thanksgiving.
Thank you all so much.
Appreciate what y'all do for high school?
Sports is awesome.
I coach nothing like having your own producer.
Yes, we got him through.
We were a little questioning their Foreman but we got him through.
Okay.
So Raven versus Swainsboro again, John do a lot of heavy weights.
We talked about Swainsboro Spath so quickly.
What we'll do is we'll go Ravens path quickly.
They had the Wolverines from Dade County in round number one.
They beat them by 40.
Then tonight great season by Social Circle and Coach patent got to catch up with him this week.
For my weekly column Social Circle Rabun County Rabun County dominant from the beginning.
They had 42 on the board there.
So once again, we got to catch up with both coaches, Rabun County and Swainsboro Swainsboro has been top of the rankings in D1.
All season long, they've been right there.
So his Rabun County.
So once again using the Matt Stewart, power rankings.
This one probably should be a lot of folks, might think it might be a week or two further down the road.
But because of how things shake out, Rabun County has to pack a lunch and dinner.
Maybe a midnight snack next week.
They go Swainsboro it's going to be a tough one.
Is going to be a great watch.
All right we've got a list of brackets that we have not yet touched on.
We're going to take a quick break.
We're going to come back with all of this stick with us.
Football Fridays in Georgia on GPB is presented by the governor's office of Highway Safety.

Welcome back to the postgame show presented by the governor's office of Highway Safety.
Reminding you to buckle up Georgia.
If you're just now joining us, that's Jon Nelson.
I'm Hannah.
Good, and we have gone through quite a few brackets here, both division, single A's 7A.
Now, let's go to 3A and John, will you look at the big picture first?
What?
Sticks out.
We're all filled out.
Interesting, new player.
Is that a report of this?
Especially Down Low Savannah.
Christian is New Calvary Day makes a run in and that's a tough one.
Wow.
Both Carver's, by the way, Carver equally represented on both sides of the bracket Thomasville.
We welcome them back as well.
So once again a lot of the heavy weights and some great talent that is going to be on display here in 3A with Savannah Christian and Calvary Day representing the coast in 3A.
Let's go, top left.
We have Carver Atlanta head coach Darren miles here to tell us about About his 32:18.
Win over Monroe Area and at Henderson and coaches was a 5:30 game.
So you at home, you just, you've been hanging out and tell us about your when and where you're calling in from.
Yes, I'm calling in from home, I'm in my office and house pretty good.
Firefighters, not bad.
Believe it or not.
I've got you got an early night in?
Well, well, 3218, how are you able to pull this one out?
A lot of resiliency going back and forth to three and they fought back in the second half and believe it or not tired of that.
18, a boy showed a lot of resolve and did a great job of putting the game away from Rosa.
Well-coached team did a great job with those guys coach when it comes to meeting and exceeding the expectations last year you made it to the last game of the year last year.
And I know that you want to always get Carver Atlanta back.
To the last game of the year.
Winning the last game of the year.
What is this ride been?
Like for you to try to match and exceed?
What you did last year?
Red, extremely difficult because both are we have a young group of guys and I was graduated from the three seniors, you know, five hours allowing went on to play college football, on scholarships running backs of receiver.
No defense where we have to do with a lime and, and two linebackers are going to play college ball, but also building some big shoes to fill in itself.
And I guys constantly got better for week me every now and then we still see some of the limit already experienced.
You know, please now penalties, Etc, but they've done a great job.
Job of hiding and want to think make it back to the state championship game, but they also understand there is a process, you know, so those week, the week is 10 and I want to say is it but, you know, now, you know, it's definitely want to know.
Try to focus on the game.
Try to focus up with next 48 minutes.
Then.
You know, it's going to be tough, you need each opponent brings a new challenge.
We're gonna have to get on the bus.
You know, by 9:00 Friday morning day after Thanksgiving and brought up the Thomasville and face that challenge.
But you know the goal is always to get to the state championship game, the last year we were able to do that.
So now you know that it's not impossible and that's what this group of guys realize you know they were on the sidelines, some of them will Scout think where's and serve?
But other guys they just graduated so they know that is possible and if you're doing a great job of showcasing their skill and put it on there, At the great effort that we need coach miles.
Thank you so much for your time tonight and good luck against Thomasville next week.
I've got that one Circle that's going to be an awesome match up.
If you got to thank God for having me, enjoy your Thanksgiving have a great weekend.
Thanks coach coach.
Okay John Carver Atlanta versus Thomasville on the quarters.
Yep and let's work our way through.
Once again it was follow the paths.
Carver Atlanta knocks off Ringgold, they had to travel to Ringgold in the first round as a 3, and a 2.
So you get that win there then.
You get the home game against Monroe Area, because Monroe Area is a for knocked off Dawson County.
So that's how Carver Atlanta got the home game tonight.
They get the 5:30, the early game at Henderson Stadium.
Downtown Thomasville.
Once again, great to see the Bulldogs.
Making a deep run into the playoffs first year.
Head coach Thomasville knocks off Jackson round one tight game against Liberty County tonight.
Now, Carver Atlanta and Thomasville going to be interesting, but as coach Miles said, they're going to have to travel to Veterans Memorial stadium in Thomasville.
And that is why we can go upper left and put those two in pain.
Another teen that is very familiar with finals games is Irwin County.
They defeated Heard County 55 to nothing and I want to take a look upper left quadrant of single a division.
1, John yep.
Irwin be Jeffco in round number one and they put 42 on Jeffco and they had 55 tonight their win against Shane Lassiter and Heard County and Mount Pisgah.
That's the the word of the night coming.
Out of the upper left once again knocking off an undefeated Darlington team that a lot of folks were looking at in Northwest Georgia to make a run so it's Irwin County hosting Mount Pisgah as a 2 seed.
So next week, it's another home game that buddy, Noble Sadie.
Let's put this bracket to rest.
So let's go to bottom right.
Bleckley County will play st. Francis in the quarters.
Yeah, Bleckley County.
Once again, is as a three seed knocking off Brooks has a to once again that match up really.
Should be a little further down when it comes to the weeks of the the postseason.
And again, we can Ring the Alarm, then you can because blackly as a three hit the siren knocked off, Lamar County in Barnesville tonight, 27:23, big win for Vaughn Lassiter again on the road and guess what?
They get to go on the road again, to take on st. Francis st. Francis B.
Try on tonight by 14 and so Frank.
Barden gets another home game, but you've got to face Bleckley County.
You're going to make it to the semi-finals in D1.
Okay.
John, we're trying to close out some of these brackets.
So let's go back to 7 in which quadrant have we missed what, which quadrant have?
We definitely have not missed top.
Right?
That was our game tonight Mill Creek, defeated North Cobb 43, 27, they will play Westlake, right?
Will be Parkview.
32:28, what other game stand out to you?
We also did top left with North Gwinnett facing Colquitt County, right?
So, we can add Milton to the Milton and Grayson Milton beats Norcross by the score of 3023.
So Grayson has to travel to Milton next week.
Still waiting for the final score on Walton and Buford to add them to the mix.
So that's where we are right now.
In 7A just missing the last game on the board Walton is leading Buford 41 to 28 in the fourth quarter that would be an astronomical result because what you're doing there.
You sure that I'm reading this right because what you Have is Buford who has a top five team nationally.
If that holds it's a signature win for Daniel Brunner and Walton knocking off the top five team in the country in the Buford wolves.
If that one sticks that one is seismic in 7A because then you're looking at Colquitt County, you're looking at North Gwinnett once again, Carrollton going up against the winner of Walton and Buford but when you see a lot of the heavy weights with Westlake coming up to seven a but you've got a lot of heavy weights.
Here.
But if Walton knocks off Buford, it is seismic when it comes to not just the rankings here in the state of Georgia.
But national rankings and those mythical national championships that we talked about.
If this result, holds, let's go to 6A.
John.
Let's look at big picture here to make sure we're covering all of our brackets and upper left.
I like Roswell TCC that's going to be a great game.
That is going to be a good one, Rosalind TCC, but Roswell is going to have to pack a lunch and a dinner.
Head down to the jackets nest.
We can add Houston County to the mix is this bracket is now full Gainesville and Houston County.
Houston County knocked off.
North Atlanta is the late game at Henderson tonight.
This one was back and forth.
Houston County was trailing at one point, they come back for the win over North Atlanta but they go to Gainesville, Bobby grew in field at city park.
Josh nibbled, has done a fantastic job with the red elephants.
This year, Houston County works their way in.
We caught up with John Hunt.
Woodward Academy in Hughes, we know what's going to be the challenge there.
Therefore the war eagles Marist and Rome Blue.
Bloods low.
Right 68 bracket is complete interesting.
Matchups here with the addition of Houston County and Gainesville.
5842 a, we see you more to come.
But now we are going to go back to seven a.
We have Milton head coach bin Reeves here to talk about the big win over Norcross 3223 second round five consecutive seasons.
Coach, I want to talk to you about this game and what did it take to pull out the win over Norcross?
You know what, just just what we do playing for each other, empty and our tank on the field attacking every situation with no fear and kids did that tonight.
You know, they as as we've talked about on this show before this team continually gets, you know, doubted and continually told, they can't do this, can't do that.
And that just motivates us even more than I'm just so proud for the coaches for the kids and continue to turn heads.
They continue to do whatever buddy says, they can't and they deserve this man.
This is awesome for them.
What's it been like to continually proof folks wrong in this season?
Which is your first as a head coach there, because I'm sure that there's been a lot of folks who sit there and say you can't, you can't, you can't, but they're inside your atmosphere there.
At Milton, you're turning those words on its head and going.
Yes, you can.
Yes, you can.
Yes, you can.
What's this atmosphere been like Yeah.
I mean it creates just a bigger Bond.
Yeah, that's one of the great things about this sport is the bond that you form with just the coaches and the players and, you know, something like this, when people tell you, you can't do something and you look at each other in the room and decide that you can do.
And you're going to do it together.
It just makes that bond that we love about this sport.
That much sweeter that much bigger.
It's just been a special Year all the way around.
Yeah, coteries I have to say I'm impressed to you have a team that went to the finals Shear and you bring in a new system and a new scheme and you're headed that way as well.
But you have to get through Grayson.
So what's it going to take?
Yeah, I mean is you know another another Juggernaut coming in here next week.
And you know, our kids were going to the same thing.
We're gonna prepare to the best of our abilities.
Try to have fun doing it.
We're going to go out on the field.
Play for each other, empty our tanks and just see what the scoreboard says, at the end.
That's all we can do.
Coach Reeves, congratulations on a great season.
Already much more to come.
We appreciate the time.
Thank you very much.
Okay, John, I really am impressed with the season that he's built there this year.
No question about it.
And let's follow the path and find out how we got to Grayson and Milton Milton.
Once again against Cherokee.
Double them up.
28-14 in the first round.
Then tonight, we talked about this one 3023.
We got to catch up with Coach Reeves just now and he has laid the path out for us and he knows the Challenger with Grayson and Adam Carter Grayson knocked off Hillgrove and round number one, thirty, two, three.
We've seen the Grayson defense.
I know that a lot of folks have a very heavy looking at the Grayson offense, buried.
Young.
But once again what we talked about with very very young players who are starting early in the year they're not that same class of player.
By the time you get to season 3 and you're getting into playoffs those freshmen, they're starting to play like sophomores, sophomores, playing like Juniors and such.
So Grayson over Hillgrove Grayson over Camden, Grayson and Milton bottom, right?
So that's how things look there in 7A next week, as Adam Carter and been Reeves will go at all.
Right, we promised it five a time.
Let's look at the big picture here.
John and, and what do we see?
Everything seems to be filled out here?
Yeah, Mase and Dutch town.
Those were the two that were we were waiting on Cass Valiant fight.
The Colonel's is a four seed knocking off Jefferson and round.
One had the lead against maze couldn't hold on.
So cast, great season for the Colonel's maze makes their way through and they will go to Dutch town.
Dutch town had a 17 point lead late, fourth quarter against Northgate, got the Duke.
So Dutch town, with their Stellar defense with head, coach Nikita battle.
That one seed Works their way through mazes a to.
So maze is going to have to travel to the Southern Crescent to take on Dutch town in the next round.
And once again you see a lot of these teams that we've seen repeatedly region 1.
While represented with where and coffee Warner Robins, we've talked about them on countdown to kickoff Cartersville, I guess Class.
5A brought To Us by the letter c Cartersville coffee Creekside Calhoun.
Well let's go to one of those see teams like you said Cartersville DVD Cambridge thirty seven to 14.
We have head.
Coach Conor Foster on the chat with us about it on the bus.
And this was the only ranked teams in 5A to face each other.
So coach break this one down for us and in front of your team.
Yeah, it was great game.
Really proud of our Kia still battling, you know, going into, you know, being on the road and playing some adverse situations, really proud of them for stepping up when it comes to doing something on short rest.
How difficult was it?
Because all those, those these games get pushed five, a games, get pushed three, a games, get pushed 78 games.
Get pushed did the short week affect you.
How did that juggle things for you?
Kids and coaches really responded?
Well, the standard is the standard, you know, they prepared at the same Championship level and just just proud of them for not making any excuses and it was something different, something unique, but a great opportunity for us to get it figured out because you're no stranger to making deep runs in the playoffs.
You will have to face coffee next week.
What are the keys to the game?
You know I know your guys are tired back there but you got the big one.
Heading two quarterfinals.
Let's let's hear some snakes I think I know just hands, right?
There we go.
Congratulations coach.
Thanks so much for calling in and you guys get home safe.
Okay, John we go just.
Did you notice how courteous they were coach?
Just e-mail, is he coached lives?
The lips is the iPad or whatever device it was.
He lets the lifts it, and they just kind of there just raising their hands.
They're just like, yay, and no noise.
It's like, yeah, we want Iron and then you had to trigger.
So yeah, so it's like on command but you got to give the Cartersville kids.
A lot of credit for when Hannah cue them.
That's when you got the emotion.
But once again, let's take a pic of the path and at Cartersville and coffee.
Once again, we mentioned how region 1 Represented without coffee and we're County, where County had a scare tonight down at the half before they came back to win coffee under first year.
year head coach, Mike Co they work their way through at, Jardine knocking off, hola.
And then tonight, they beat Decatur indicator in Downtown Decatur by the score 5123.
So, that's the kind of prolific offense that you get to see from coffee as they go to Cartersville next week.
This is 22 seeds.
Once again, the lower seed is your home team here.
So weinman Stadium, next week, coffee pack, a lunch and a dinner, because you're going to Cartersville once again, be Clark Central at home at weinman in round number 1 by the score of 43 10.
Then in control over Cambridge tonight, winning by 23 coffee Cartersville, knocks off Cambridge.
So, once again, brought To Us by the letter c and 5A, that's where your power is region.
One represented, South Georgia is going to have something to say about it, but coffee and Cartersville next week that was going to be Stout.
All right, another bracket down.
Let's work our way down and quad a spot on this one.
John.
On Cairo and true play tomorrow.
Check, that is why we have a blank spot so we can fill in everything else.
Except for that one and you're seeing some new faces.
You've got some new faces here in Quad.
A Holy Innocence is waiting for Cairo and troops, so they're waiting.
So, Holy Innocents.
Got the win tonight over Central Carol.
Their new Stockbridge.
They've made this Run Deep before under Kevin Whitley, great season for Walnut Grove Benedictine.
Once again we've seen them Benedictine had a bit of a scare against Water and round number one.
But they were in control against Spaulding tonight, winning easily 45 6.
We've had Jamie Abrams on the show with Cedartown, so you see new faces, Wayne County.
You want to talk about a new face.
That is a new face in Quad, a north of Kony has made runs before.
Holy Innocence is new Bainbridge.
They're used to being here.
Late, Cedartown used to being here late.
So, this is a bit of a mixed bag and quad a where you've got.
Some of the guys you're used to seeing run making deep runs and some new faces which I know that a lot of football fans who are neutrals like to see.
They let you see the new guys making runs?
Deep into the playoffs.
So a lot of these quad a team were one big.
What does that say about this classification that you have top teams that are incredibly Stout when it comes to offense because you know you mentioned those numbers Cedartown put up 48 tonight Bainbridge put up 44 North of Coney put up 35 Wayne County and Perry will put to the side because that was great defense on display from two great coaches with the Kevin Smith from Perry and jaybo Shaw from Wayne County.
Benedictine 45, Stockbridge 38 and Holy Innocence.
The innocence is you know they put 41 on the board against the for seating around number one.
I think that what you're seeing is once again prolific offense is in play and stout defense has and that's the balance that you need to make these kind of runs that you're making.
So that is what you're looking at here.
But once again, you get that balance of offense and defense, we talked to John Hunt about the importance of special teams as well.
But once again, new guys old guys and by old guys, I mean those ones that the Blue Bloods were used to seeing those consistent programs that we see but to See new guys coming in here, like a Holy Innocence like a Stockbridge like a Wayne County especially after last year Stout work by kwatak.
Last but not least.
Yes, our last bracket double A, we've got a coach on the line but let's first take a look at the big picture of two eggs on and what can we put in pain a lot?
And once again it's a lot of the same names that were used to seeing in double-a a lot of familiar faces.
You've got Fellowship Christian with Tim McFarlin, Pierce County Fitzgerald Rock Mart a lot of the heavy weight.
Double-a, I will maintain the double-a is one of the toughest classifications of so bless.
Our friend, Gil.
Tyree bar.
None in the state of Georgia because you look at those eight and that is a stout 8 to finish.
You even go back to this round, where you had Eagle's.
Landing Christian, you have Putnam County, that makes deep bronze.
You have Northeast making with their running game.
Fannin County has made runs last couple of years cook has done well.
So you have all of these different names in double-a and I will maintain one of the toughest classifications across the board.
Let's go upper left and we have head coach a Biff Parson here to a chat with us.
Rock Mark defeated, North Cobb, 63, 210 and Coach.
You are averaging 44.5 game points per game before tonight.
You did it again.
Sorry, North Cobb, Christian is who you defeated tell me about this game and how what makes your offense go?
Well, I'll have to say that it rusts really what?
In our office, not of our defense.
I think we created six turnovers no score So that obviously helps the point differential, but, you know, your competition came out and they took it and and milk the clock and got it down to about five minutes to go in the first quarter with three points.
And then 23 seconds we scored and after that our defense made a couple big turnovers and with some points on the board and 20.
Tiene halftime and we got the ball back in third quarter and about seven plays we scored.
And then again our defense scoop Discord had a pick six at two more intersections so it was really credit to our defense way they played tonight.
Six straight region titles for you coach.
What has been the key do you think since you've been there as a part of this program, what is the key been to this consistency to make these deep runs that you've always seemed to make in the playoffs?
Well, I think it has to do with the staff that I have.
You know, these guys have been with me since day one.
We brought in a couple new faces here and there, but for the majority of our staff, they've been with me for seven years and then our kids are kids that have bought into the program.
These kids were in rec league when I got here.
And so just the standard we set year in year out, and then buying into the vision, is kind of helpful where we at right now coach?
Person.
This is your first time back in the quarter-final since 2018.
You will have to get through Fitzgerald.
Who this is gonna be a really tough matchup.
What do you do to work on?
Well, we just got to play Roblox football, Taco Tucker.
Pruitt is, is an unbelievable coach.
He's got unbelievable program going down.
There is the defending state champion.
So you know, it's we've got to earn the right to play in brown forward and we got a tough task ahead of us.
And, you know, our kids are excited about the opportunity, all right?
Coach will let you And start film on this one.
Have a great holiday week in, good luck.
In the quarters.
Thank you, good night, good night, coach.
Okay.
John upper left upper left and we will follow the paths once again.
Rock Martin Fitzgerald.
That's a that's a that is a who boy that is a that is Stout in the upper left but let's follow the path and work their way through Rock.
Mart once again against East Jackson East Jackson they put 65 on the board there.
Put 63 on the board tonight.
That's how they work their way through Fitzgerald over Central making.
The Chargers they put 41 on the board here.
Tough game, traditionally.
This is a very, very tough game in the playoffs and really in the regular season.
When these two teams meet Fitzgerald in Putnam County, Sean, Pope and Tucker Pruitt.
This one is always a tight game and it was the same way again tonight 28 20 or final Fitzgerald wins at JC because of the coin flip Rock Martin Fitzgerald Rock Mart has to travel to j.c. Stadium if they want to make it through.
And if Fitzgerald wants to try and repeat as a Eight Champion man, that's double A you and we talked about just the heavyweights Appling Callaway Thomson, Pierce Fellowship.
Christian, we're going to hit the siren, right?
We are about to hit siren become of all upset.
Wow, Walton.
Wow, has taken down, Buford down.
Go the Buford wolves 42 to 35.
So, So Walton advances Buford as a top, five team nationally is now going to have to watch the rest of the playoffs from home.
That is not a sentence that any of us thought that we would say when it came to the 7A playoffs.
A lot of folks looked at Buford, they looked at Mill Creek, when we had the game on for the region Championship, basically, a month ago with these two teams, Buford and Mill Creek top 25 nationally Colquitt He getting nationally ranked reviews Hughes in 6A, getting nationally, ranked reviews, but Buford is going to have to watch the rest of the playoffs on their couch.
There you go Walton and Carolton next week Walton as a 2 seed is going to go to Grisham Stadium Carrollton.
Put 38 on lands in round one in control after a start that was dead.
Even with Marietta was 76 at one point.
Point Carrollton.
Put the pedal down 147, 14 Walton knocks off, Buford 4235.
So Walton just took everybody's brackets that they filled out in pain and showed that you shouldn't do that.
And the night tonight is a reason why trying to make history this year, when in all's championships and all classifications.
But I have no doubt coach app will eventually do that.
All right, Daniel Brunner.
And everybody at Walton tonight.
Our next game of the week, you don't even have to wait, you don't even have to wait for social media.
It will be Walton versus Carrollton.
That will be our quarterfinal matchup.
Write it down, you're not going to want to miss.
Wow, that matchup.
Okay, we hit every single bracket John.
Thank you guys so much for watching.
This was such a fun quarter.
Final show.we have.
Wow, almost narrowed it down to 64 teams.
We have narrowed it down to 66 one more game we played tomorrow.
Yes, 64 group in Oh 65, thank you John.
Thanks everybody for watching.
We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving next week.
Please get home safe for Jon Nelson.
I'm gonna good everybody involved in this show.
