What would you do if there wasn't a local library for miles? You'd give the Arrowhead Library System's Bookmobile a call! With over 50 stops in Northern MN, its mission is to provide library services to the furthest reaches of our state.

Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship♪ Bouncy music ♪ ♪ Bouncy music ♪ We're at Markham, Colvin Town Hall, where we have our Bookmobile stop, on Week A. I know it started in 1967.
I can't remember all the details, but they got a bus from the cities and brought it up here and retrofitted it to be a bookmobile.
♪ Bouncy music continues ♪ Well, the Bookmobile has 58 stops.
We stop in four of the seven counties that are covered by the Arrowhead Library System.
We go to Koochiching, Itasca, Carlton, and St. Louis County.
We offer the newest titles usually.
Uhh, we probably have about 3000 items.
It's not a huge library, but it'd probably be about the same as a small library that you go to.
We just give people access to the books, especially people who don't have access to the internet as well.
In the rural areas, this way then they can still learn about things that they can use in their own lives.
Well, anybody can tell you that the library is important and we bring the library to people who don't have access to it on a regular basis.
