Despite protections put in place to protect renters, some say they’ve faced hardships.
Even as the state digs out from the economic part of the coronavirus crisis, half of New Jersey’s 1 million renters are still worried about paying rent. With so many people still out of work, both landlords and tenants are getting desperate to pay their bills. Some renters say they’ve faced eviction, threats and worse.
