Now he's 96, just unable to get out and I'll be hitting 85 here pretty quick.
And I asked Parks and Rec if they would want to take over the signs last fall.
But when the virus came and skeleton crews working, they didn't get the signs down this summer.
So we were missing about 14, 15 signs.
So my partner and his grandson said, "let's make a note to the Tribune."
So we did that and we got an article in the paper.
One of my former students brought the article to work.
And one of the guys says, "Oh, I've got a wood shop.
I can make signs."
Then he found a place in town and they take the oxygen out of the boards.
So, then they won't rot for about 20 years.
And so they told them, "well, we have some short ends, three four feet long, and you can have these to make your signs."
And the girls were saying, "well, my hubby is retired.
He can come up and put the signs up."
And away it went.
Beyond expectation!
