- So the Mojakka Cook-Off that's going on today, we've been doing for 18 years.
We missed a couple years for COVID.
Mojakka actually is a Finnish American slang for soup.
Traditional mojakkas might be made out of beef, vegetables, fish.
And we've got 15 wonderful mojakkas to taste in there.
All of the entrants today are fabulous, they are every year.
We've done this as a total fundraiser, meaning all the proceeds go to the Carlton County Historical Society.
We've also done it in past years for the Friends of Animals, the United Way, the American Legion Auxiliary.
So it is a great community fundraiser.
When you can give back to the community, it's a good thing.
