After losing a sister to typhoid fever, suffering from rheumatic fever herself and noticing the lack of access to medical care, Edith Irby Jones was motivated to pursue a career as a medical doctor. Learn how she became a medical pioneer, the first African American to attend and graduate from University of Arkansas for Medical Science (UAMS).
