The move was prompted by U.S. Supreme Court's overturning of abortion rights
Gov. Phil Murphy signed a law Tuesday to protect the right of a person to marry or enter into a civil union with a person of any race. The law to protect interracial marriage in New Jersey comes a year after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on the landmark Roe v. Wade case overturned abortion rights for women, which raised concerns about other seemingly long-settled laws.
