Thank you so much.
It's a wonderful, wonderful night.
I can't beat this.
I'm getting honored with my very best friend in the world, so, that's very special.
Rogers Robinson: I'm so happy for both of them today.
We actually met Mr. Gordy in 1957.
We went for an audition and Mr. Gordy was there and he was like, "I like that group."
He said, without The Miracles, there would be no Motown.
Morton: Berry is a new label owner, you know.
For me, I became an independent record label owner and a lot of that is just really his blueprint of Motown.
Knowing that a Black man can exist in that position, knowing that it's possible for me to use my mind and use my influence to help others.
As an executive, I think Berry Gordy is so influential to how I try to run my record company.

♪ When I had you to myself ♪ ♪ I didn't want you around ♪ Holland: When I heard Smokey write, I was so impressed and I was so moved.
I learned how to write, listening and watching with Smokey and looking and studying the lyric.

Everybody's influenced by Motown, some type of way.
That's the type of impact they had.
You know, they were writing music and they were doing it because they loved it, you know.
That was the path for them.
As these kids come up, the next generation of musicians and performers and writers and artists, MusiCares will be there for them.
They have been two of my best friends for as long as I've been in the industry, and that's many, many years.
That's the influence.
