Cheerwine marks a milestone anniversary.
NC’s iconic, family-owned Cheerwine turns 100-years old this year. We take you to Salisbury, NC to meet the Ritchie family, who have both 4th & 5th generations working in the family business. In 1917, L.D. Peeler created Cheerwine amid a sugar shortage in World War I. He bought the cherry flavor from a traveling salesman & mixed it with other flavors to make the signature taste.
