Earlier today, the UNC Board of Governors convened to select the new UNC System president. Magaret Spellings, former U.S Education Secretary under President George W. Bush, will take over the 17 campus University of North Carolina on March 1, 2016. Current UNC President Tom Ross will step down January 2016--after serving five years at the post.
