I'm Kate Horvath, and we are here at Wade Stadium at the Season Splash.
The Season Splash is a community wide celebration of arts organizations who have come together to share a little bit about what is coming in their seasons for the rest of the year.
So 2022-23 seasons are kicking off all across the community.
From Lake Superior Youth Chorus to the Minnesota Ballet to Lyric Opera of the North, to the Playhouse White School Theater, you name it.
Everybody's here to share a little taste of what they have to offer audiences this coming year after pandemic.
So many of our houses were quiet and closed.
Folks hadn't been on stage in a long time.
Just a way to, for free, invite our community in and remind them of the tremendous capabilities that Duluth has in regards to our professional and community arts organizations.
And I do think our audiences are excited to return to our venues and support our arts organizations.
And so I think in a community of our size to say we have all of these amazing entities at our disposal at any given Friday night, you can go out live music, dance symphony, opera.
I mean, if we don't show up for them, they can't show up for us continually.
So we've gotta do it.
