Proton therapy pinpoints exactly where radiation is needed
A new facility will give patients in South Jersey more access to advanced treatment of cancer. The Proton Therapy Center at Virtua Health Hospital in Voorhees uses a 90-ton machine to deliver proton treatment. Unlike traditional forms of radiation where treatment can damage normal tissue around a tumor, proton therapy pinpoints exactly where treatment is needed.
