Being able to start as young as kindergarten, it really captures those students that are, they love to build with Legos and they love to see how things kind of work.
I run 3D Robotics Duluth, and it's a local nonprofit that kids K through 12 can be a part of.
We have a wide variety of students, from around the area.
We just moved into, the tech village downtown.
And so we are as centrally located in Duluth as you can be.
We love life and vibrancy in downtown, especially in our vacant spaces.
It's always fun for me to meet and greet new tenants, but I think when, you know, younger generations, especially children, are in a building.
It makes such a difference between the feel and the vibe.
At the K through three level, it's called the explore level and you're running Lego robots.
doing some basic programing with some black codes.
Starting in fourth grade all the way through eighth grade.
Again, that's still Lego based, but you're operating on a four by eight foot table.
And there's different missions.
And this sweet.
This is our tech space.
We call this the forge.
And this is for seventh through 12th graders, and you're building robots that compete on a 12ft by 12ft field.
Students also learn CAD, and they do 3D printing of their parts.
And then some students are even doing custom manufacturing with some of our sponsors, I'm thinking about exploring biology, especially microbiology, but I would also love to do something like environmental sustainability.
We've actually had teams compete at the World championship in Houston.
Two years in a row.
And there were 500 teams in this one space.
And it was super energetic, but also a bit overwhelming.
But it was a great experience.
I never expected anything like this to happen from robotics.
