You know, we wanted to do something off the reservation.
And so we had this idea to do bilingual signs on the rivers of the North Shore.
And one of the things we definitely wanted to do with that was, was research the original Ojibway names for all these rivers that, you know, a lot of our band members passed going through.
And, you know, we really want to emphasize that historic connection to the traditional territory of the Grand Portage Band.
So I hope this is kind of the beginning of people really engaging with these names and understanding their importance.
