Amjad Abukwaik's family is using the ceasefire to reunite living relatives
Amjad Abukwaik moved to the U.S. from Gaza in 1988, and raised a family of five in Paterson, where he owns a prosperous pharmacy. In fact, he named his business after the hospital where he was born: Sheefa. That hospital's now a war casualty, and Abukwaik is trying to stay in touch with all his relatives back in Gaza, who fled southward as Israeli bombs destroyed their homes and neighborhoods.
