The fare hike is the first of what could become annual 3% increases

The increase is the first of what could become permanent, annual 3% increases a year after prices went up by 15% -- the first increase in a decade. The Tri-State Transportation Campaign is calling on riders and advocates to push back against the increase, asking them to write and call their state lawmakers before NJ Transit's board of directors meets in three weeks.
