New Jersey Transit has settled lawsuit stemming from that fatal Hoboken train station crash back in 2016 the rail agency paid $22 million total to settle all passenger lawsuits and claims that's according to a report from NJ Advanced media which says the outlet acquired the information after a six-year long wait for a response to an open public records request on September 29th of 2016 a pasac Valley Line train entered the Hoboken terminal preparing for a final stop but instead accelerated and slammed through a concrete barrier at the end of the track debris from the crash killed a young mother and 76 other people filed lawsuits 41 others made claims that were settled outside of Court it resulted in more robust testing for New Jersey Transit train Crews and an expedited process to install positive train control on Rail lines [Music]
