Shut-offs can resume when Winter Termination program ends on March 15
"There’s a potential for an avalanche of shut-offs to come, in the weeks and months ahead," warned advocate Larry Levine, referring to the March 15 end of a moratorium in New Jersey. The Winter Termination Program has prevented electric, gas and water utilities from cutting most people off for nonpayment since November. That has helped thousands to make ends meet, for months.
