(bright gentle music) - Noorda Center for the Performing Arts at UVU celebrates wonder through engaging world-class experiences curated for Utah Valley, with the belief that the arts are transformative.
And here to talk about the upcoming season is executive director Alex Malone.
Alex, welcome back.
- Thank you so much for having me.
- And you're here to tell me about yet another great season.
- We are having so much fun down in Utah County at UVU.
An exciting season for the '23-'24 year coming up, starting on September 9th, with one of our headliners, Keb' Mo', a five-time Grammy award-winning R and B and blues artist to kick us off.
- Oh, wow.
And then next up in September, is someone who's been in "Hamilton."
- Yes, Renee Elise Goldsberry, original star of "Hamilton," and now on "Girls5eva" on Peacock, is gonna come and do a whole concert of her music, and throw in some wonderful tunes from "Hamilton" as well.
- All right, 'cause people always love that.
And then I know you've got so much more, the "Nosferatu."
- "Nosferatu" is coming.
The original black and white silent film is gonna be performed, right before Halloween, with a live orchestra playing all the music under it.
It's gonna be a wonderful way to kick off the Halloween season.
- Oh, wow.
And then you've got, I mean, you've got so much going on, you've got an audience favorite in February, tell us about that one.
- So Voctave is an acapella group, and they're doing an entire evening called "The Corner of Broadway and Main Street," singing Broadway tunes and the "American Songbook," all acapella.
They came before for a Christmas show, and sold it out, so it'll be really important to get your tickets early for that.
- Yeah, I remember last year, people loved it.
- It's so much fun.
- They really loved it.
And then of course, speaking of Christmas, you're doing two shows.
- Two Christmas shows, gotta celebrate the season.
The first one is Kalani Pe'a, who's a Hawaiian artist, who's gonna be singing Hawaiian Christmas tunes, as well as some Christmas standards.
And then right before Christmas on the 21st, Natalie MacMaster and Donell Leahy doing "An Irish Christmas," with their entire family coming as well.
- Oh, that's great, so we get Hawaiian and Irish Christmas.
- Absolutely.
- Wonderful.
- Anyway, thanks so much for being here, Alex, thanks.
- Thank you.
