It saves lives as we welcome you to Coach Keith G. Maloof Field in Norcross for a huge region.
Seven 6-A showdown as the fourth ranked North Gwinnett Bulldogs come to town to take on the Norcross Blue Devils.
And good evening, I'm Matt Stewart, joined by former Auburn Tigers All-American NFL first round draft pick in 15 year pro Wayne Gandy.
And here's the story tonight.
If North Gwinnett wins their the region champions.
If Norcross wins, they control their own destiny.
But they'll still have to win next week at Brookwood to be the region champions.
But it seems like every time these two teams get together, it's a big game with something riding on it.
Yeah, we got another region rivalry going on here tonight.
One team on a seven game win streak, the other five points from being undefeated.
And the theme of the night.
Two quarterback systems for both of these teams.
Indeed Ford North Gwinnett 7-1 on the season having to replace all their skill position players on the offensive side of the ball from a year ago, including their three year starting quarterback Ryan Hall, who was a fifth round draft pick of the Detroit Tigers and is playing pro baseball.
So they got two quarterbacks replacing him the junior left hander Elam Rahman.
And then they bring the sophomore right hander Banks Halcomb out of the bullpen.
And these two quarterbacks are playing in sync.
Neither one of them cares who's in the game.
They cheer for each other.
When you look at Rahman, he's a bigger physical runner.
When you look at Halcomb, he can get around, move, extend the play, get the ball out quick.
And the best thing about both of them playing together, when you have a great defense.
18 touchdowns, only one interception.
And on the defensive side of the ball, the coach's son, Jake Godfree, rated as high as number 30 linebacker in the class of 2027.
He has 41 offers already.
And what a tackling machine he is.
The leading tackler, 86 tackles, five sacks.
He's sideline to sideline physical presence in the middle, and this defense represents his personality.
He's a young man who's all gas and no brakes.
Story with Norcross.
They had to replace nine starters on offense, seven on defense and their legendary head coach Keith Maloof of 26 years, who retired.
Corey Richardson stepped in and done a really good job with this program.
As you mentioned, they're just five points away from being undefeated and on the offensive side of the ball, but also the defensive side of the ball.
You got Joshua Burks.
Burks their best player.
He's counted on to make plays really in all three phases of the game.
Offensively, just a talent.
He has vision.
He is fast.
Might play a little Wildcat quarterback and defensively he drops down in the box and brings that safety, physical presence.
And on defense, their highest rated player.
Carter Luckie another one of the Luckie boys following in the footsteps of his brother Lawson and his dad and his uncles.
And he's committed to play for the Georgia.
Bulldogs 65, 285.
Rounding into shape has been out with a shoulder injury.
Great penetrator, versatile, can play out on the end, can play in the middle.
They need him to have a big game.
So it's the Bulldogs and the Blue Devils.
The 30th all time meeting.
These two teams actually played for the state championship against each other 12 years ago.
So they always play big games against each other.
They're used to it.
The third member of our team is John Nelson.
Down on the sidelines.
To all of you, however you are accessing this large or small, about a quarter century ago, Corey Richardson was a student teacher at Parkview, and he was in a middle school in the Norcross district.
A coach named Maloof got a phone call about a very young, talented coach that was hanging out right in the same area and that he needed to be a part of the growth of Norcross going forward.
Richardson has gone from doing laundry and weight training with ninth graders, to working his way all the way up to being a coordinator, and then when the job came open here on campus to be the number 1 guy, he interviewed, it wasn't something that was handed to him at all.
He had to interview for a very tough process, and eventually he became head coach here at Norcross.
One of the biggest things that he wanted to do was make sure that the foundation stayed in place from one administration to year one of his own.
He went from having everyone attached to leadership training because at some point in their high school careers, they're going to need it.
It wasn't just senior captains.
Everyone was going to be a part of this process.
And it has been interesting to see this team that replaced 17 starters at one point from last year to this get to this point where they are right now.
I asked him, I said, okay, so when you have a question about being a head coach, who do you call?
He says, well, Coach Maloof wanders into the office once a week, and I feel like I have to stand up and get off the desk and have him sit.
The other two names, his wife and his family in general.
Matt.
That's a fantastic support system to have for a big season.
Your first as a head coach and a big game tonight.
Let's light a blue devil candle from the Maloof.
All right Nellie, we are just moments away from the opening kickoff.
Please go to the QR code right there and pick the winner of tonight's game between the North Gwinnett Bulldogs and the Norcross Blue Devils.
Wayne, it is the 30th all time meeting, and Norcross leads the series 15 14.
Although the Bulldogs have won six in a row and the last two under head coach Eric Godfree, who's done a great job here in his third season since coming from Parks.
And loved how both coaches kind of played down that this was a rivalry.
They kind of act like they couldn't remember this being the kind of game that it sets up to be tonight.
Both teams very capable of winning the region.
And tonight we're going to see them on the field.
Can't wait to see how they both manage these quarterbacks.
Well Corey Richardson passed his first test this week.
He had to do zoom calls with John and Nikki for GPB sports social media, and then had to do a zoom calls with us on our zoom call with us and informational zoom call that we do every week with the coaches.
And at the end of his end of it, he asked, how do we how did he do?
And he did it.
He did a great job.
He did a wonderful job for his first time out, and you could see he was nervous but excited at the same time.
Opening kickoff is brought to you by Heads Up, Georgia.
Park your phone while you're driving.
It saves lives.
So Brayden Clark set to kick it off and the ball coming down at the six yard line.
Huff going to hand it to Jones and Jones coming to the near side.
Jayson Jones across the 30, up across the 40 and Jayson Jones up to the 46 yard line.
And true to Coach Richardson's words, special teams have been a big deal for Norcross this season.
But there is a flag down on the field.
Something they definitely feel like they have an advantage against each team they play.
They emphasize it.
That is a valuable part of their game.
Davis they've had 803, quote, unquote hidden yards, as Coach Richardson likes to talk about it in their return game.
They block kicks, they blocked punts.
They blocked field goal attempts.
Special teams have been important to the Blue Devils.
From the 50 yard line.
PJ Wolfe your starting quarterback.
I was waiting to hear what the flag was.
After the play.
Dead ball.
Personal foul defense 15 yards added to the end of the run.
First down.
So a 15 yard penalty on the Bulldogs as PJ Wolfe the six for 182 pound senior quarterback.
The starting quarterback at the beginning of the year, Wayne lost his job in the middle of the year, and now he's back as the number 1 quarterback coming into tonight's game.
More of a runner at that position, but he can get the ball out.
Last year at Grayson this year over here trying to manage this ship.
Logan Herring number 16.
He gets in the action as well.
But this young man PJ Wolfe has the size and talent to get the job done.
So the 15 yard penalty gives the ball to the Blue Devils at the North Gwinnett 40 1 yard line.
So great field position with the great kick return and then the penalty.
And as an offense you got to take advantage right off the bat.
If you're North Gwinnett, you got to be worried about something over the top in these situations.
Kendall Edwards is the running back and that's Noel-saint who goes in motion.
Edwards gets the hand off and tackled right there at the line of scrimmage by Zac Lewis.
The three star offensive lineman who's starting on the defensive line tonight.
And a big tackle by Lewis right there at the line of scrimmage.
Right there.
Kendall Edwards only 160 pounds.
Zac Lewis 275.
The big fella starting the game on defense, getting in the rotation and they want to stop the run.
They put Josh Jones and Zac Lewis on that defensive front.
So second down and basically ten Wolfe wants to go to the air.
Throws to the far side.
Incomplete.
Titus Travis was his target.
Now it's going to be third down.
Travis Wayne, let's take a look at the impact players.
It's brought to you by Breda Pest Management, the official pest control of high school football.
Kendall Edwards small, explosive, deceptive speed Julian Wisely.
The big physical right tackle for them.
Connor Coxwell over on North Gwinnett.
He's a long, instinctive player and Chauncey Davis shut down corner hasn't allowed a touchdown in his career.
And unfortunately for the Bulldogs, Coxwell was a late scratch from the starting lineup tonight.
He will not be playing this evening, so Wolfe back to pass.
Throws complete at the 33 yard line.
Goes to Noel-saint and CJ Davis Chauncey Davis makes the tackle.
It's going to be fourth down.
Nice job right there.
Throwing and catching.
But if you drew Noel-saint you have to get to the sticks for your quarterback right there pulling up coming back on that route short of the first down.
So brings up fourth down and short.
And they'll keep the offense out there.
Although they've got a great kicker.
Looks like they're going to kick Elijah Frey who is a great kicker has a long of 51 this year.
He's going to try a 50 yarder here from the right hash.
High snap.
They get it down.
The kick is on its way and the kick is going to be no good.
So Frye misses the field goal.
He ends up on his back though he might have a roughing the kicker.
Looks like a roughing the kicker in this situation.
Flag in immediately.
And just a tough break here for North Gwinnett, gifting a first down to Norcross.
Putting the offense back on the field.
Running into the kicker defense.
Five yard penalty results.
First down Elijah Frey you get an A-plus in.
Theatrical class.
A great effort of pulling up off of that rush right there.
I mean, it definitely was just a minor touch and great acting by Frey to sell it and help his team out.
Wolfe going to keep it on the quarterback run and runs right into Lewis again.
Who makes the tackle right there at the line of scrimmage?
Actually, that was Burks.
It was Joshua Burks who in there in the Wildcat?
We were told to expect this.
They've always had a running quarterback at Norcross.
They don't feel like Wolfe and Herring, their two quarterbacks give them that.
So they use Joshua Burks the safety as a Wildcat quarterback.
And look at Burks worked the line there, calling the plays out, shouting.
He's confident that he can get the job done in this situation, and they need him to.
They're very dangerous with a running quarterback.
That's Burks again on the carry and Burks gets tackled.
Not much running room for him.
Matt, are you sure Zach Lewis is going to Georgia as an O-lineman right there once again in the mix.
75 as he works himself down the line.
Good technique right there.
Shares the block.
They they've.
Got two.
They've actually they've got three starters on offense playing starting defense tonight.
Lewis Josh Jones who's the left tackle.
And Khalil Mazone who's the running back.
Both of those.
All three of those guys are starting on defense tonight going both ways.
Wolfe back in there at quarterback.
Going to throw and broken up by Chauncey Davis trying to go to Noel-saint.
Great job there.
By Chauncey Davis a three star headed to Southern Miss 6′2″, 190 confident in his speed right here and a good job of not pass interference right there.
Being able to go over the top with that long frame.
Maybe next level have to move to that safety spot.
But a good job of coming back and knocking that ball down.
So they bring on Frey.
He'll try another field goal attempt.
This is a 45 yarder and the kick is on its way.
And this one is going to be good with plenty of room to spare.
Elijah Frey puts it in from 45 yards.
Norcross scores on their opening possession.
Bulldogs on offense.
When we get back.
, Football Fridays in Georgia is presented by the Governor's Office of Highway Safety, reminding you to park your phone while driving saves lives.
Heads up Georgia.
You wouldn't take a call during the big game.
Oh hey what's up man?
You wouldn't be texting while cheering on your team.
Jacket.
And you definitely wouldn't want to watch a video while marching with the band.
So why would you drive a car while distracted driving isn't a game when you lose on the road, it could lead to a crash.
So when you get behind the wheel, put the distractions aside, drive hands free, and save lives.
Heads up Georgia.
I said I never joined.
Never knew I was strong.
I was joining the Navy.
Sounds crazy.
Saying never actually is.
Welcome back to the Maloof.
It is time to present the $1,500 donation from our friends from Cigna to our friends at Norcross High, and it's time to check in with the AP and the ad, Vinnie beams.
Coach, thanks for being a great partner with us all week long and a great partner to Football Fridays all year long.
All right.
Thank you so much for having us.
We thank you so much for the for the check that you're donating for our program.
And it's a great day for, for Norcross football.
No doubt about it.
Thanks to our friends from Cigna.
Thanks to our friends at Norcross, $1,500 donation stays here, Matt.
The rest of the first is yours.
All right.
Thank you Nelly I like how you said that the Maloof we're going to call it the Maloof and Corey Richardson team out to a three nothing lead after they got a second chance at a field goal.
And Elijah Frey, who's a five star kicker, booted it through easily from 45 yards.
Yeah, great confidence shown there by Coach Richardson in that situation.
Just missing a long field goal and willing to dial it up again.
That's the kind of confidence he has in Frey.
And now Frey will kick off.
He handles all of their kicking duties, their kickoffs, their punts and their place kicks.
And he is 23 of 32 on his kickoffs touchbacks.
So a very good number for him right there.
Mazone and Taylor standing deep for the Bulldogs.
And an onside kick attempt.
But it looks like it's going to be blown dead flag down at the 41.
Looks like Norcross might have been offsides.
Yeah.
Two eagle right there.
Had the call on onside kick playing aggressive.
You can tell this Blue Devil team feels like they got to get in possession.
The ball.
Offense kicking team five yard penalty.
We kick.
Kevin Williams is our referee tonight.
And here's a look at the rest of the crew working this region seven 6-A showdown tonight.
So my question is do you come back and do that again.
No.
You got to kick the ball off.
Trust me.
That front line of the return team, all eyes are going to be stuck on that ball right here as they kick the ball.
They're not worried about getting in the blocking.
They're going to make sure this is kicked off.
And it is kicked off.
And it's going to be coming down at the six yard line.
That's Mazone on the return over on the far side.
Mazone great return across the 51 man to beat.
And Huff finally gets him at the 22 yard line.
But Khalil Mazone with an incredible return to put the Bulldogs in.
Plus territory.
Great blocking up front right here.
Watch this hole develop that he can run through.
Just running straight.
He hasn't thrown one fake so far.
And then getting a little escort there by Wilson Taylor.
And just makes it into a foot race.
But great blocking by the return team in that situation there for Khalil Mazone.
So Mazone is going to be tired.
And we're, you know, 4 minutes into the game.
He's played defense, offense and a great special teams kick return.
Elam Rahman in their quarterback close to 69% completion, 728 in the air with ten touchdown passes and just one interception for the six foot two, 13 junior left hander.
Expect these two quarterbacks to try to make some plays with their legs here tonight, and both good athletes Halcomb a little faster.
Rahman complete out on the edge.
Ball goes to Braylon Jackson with Jason Jones making the tackle.
Nice route there by Jackson 611 95 senior.
Just a little stop route.
Curl up for your quarterback.
Make yourself big fighting for yards right there.
That's what you have to do for your quarterback in that situation.
Good job.
By Braylon Jackson.
Jackson.
The senior has been offered by UT Martin.
And look at their gigantic tight end.
Number 7 Max Patterson.
He's 6′6″, 245.
Rahman again looking to the air and throwing towards the end zone.
Caught over the shoulder.
And that is going to be a touchdown.
Evan Hawkins the littlest guy on the football field with a great over-the-shoulder catch to put North Gwinnett on top.
As coach Godfree said, always the smallest man on the field is Evan Hawkins good route here.
Going to that back pylon.
Good throw there by Rahman and a beautiful catch here by Evan Hawkins over the head.
Having to drop it in the bucket.
You can see Rahman right there fired up beautiful.
Throw and catch their quarterback to receiver.
Rahman 11th touchdown pass of the season.
And it goes to the 55.
That's right 55140 pound junior who's their leading wide receiver.
Liam Hughey Onu Capra extra.
Point Liam Hughey on for the P.a.t.
And the kick is up and the kick is good.
And North.
First time they touch the ball they score a touchdown.
And the Bulldogs have a 73 lead.
Good protection by the line.
Beautiful throw right there.
Rahman knowing where he wanted to drop this.
And then just dropping it over the head.
Great concentration there by Hawkins getting his feet down in the end zone for the touchdown.
Using that quick just knows how to get open his Hawkins.
That's what Coach Godfree said.
He's a guy.
Works in the slot a lot.
He's fast, just a little small, but came into this game with 27 receptions and four TDs.
Yeah, and three rushing TDs so he can score the ball.
Is Hawkins.
Averaging 82 plus yards per game.
All purpose yards and a touchdown catch by Evan Hawkins coming from Elam Rahman.
Now you get the feel of why the Blue Devils are trying to onside.
They know they got to put some points on the board tonight.
Kick going to be taken at the two yard line by Huff and Chase Huff.
Up to the 32.
And that's where Norcross will go on offense for the second time tonight.
It's Norcross offense.
One thing we saw in those first two drives, they had well, really the first drive and then they got the ball back and kept it going.
But when you look at this team, they're going to have to stay out of those second and third and longs have more success running the ball in early downs, making plays and PJ Wolfe you're going to have to use that next level athletic ability to make some plays with your legs.
So Jarwlee now in there at running back.
Now that's still Edwards and Edwards out across the 40 yard line and Edwards all the way up to the 46.
Seven yard line.
As we take a look at the Norcross offense, it's brought to you by Johnny's New York style pizza, your original neighborhood pizzeria.
Tillis Mitchell Aronstein Combs and Wisely up front, Edwards the running back then Okosun with the HVAC responsibilities Noel-saint Travis and Odell is the tight end, so first and ten.
Ball goes complete to Travis right there at the 44.
That'll be another first down back to back first downs for the Blue Devils.
Nice job there by Travis.
This receiving corps is young but they're getting better.
Good throw and catch right there by Wolfe.
Good fundamentals.
Shoulder swear.
Able to throw that strike in there to Titus Travis.
That was the 13th catch of the season for Travis.
So first and ten Blue Devils moving the ball.
Handoff goes to Edwards.
Edwards shoots through the hole and Edwards tackled by Zach Lewis and Josh Jones.
Josh Jones Zach Lewis Christian Odell.
And watch how Edwards kind of ducks underneath the tackle in the arm right there.
Keeping those legs going.
5′7″, 160.
Always falling forward is Edwards.
He runs hard to be such a small guy.
So second down and five.
That was Marschke in motion and North Gwinnett pointing at the offensive line of Norcross.
Looks like it's going to be a procedure penalty on the Blue Devils.
False start offense.
Five yard penalty remains second down.
Got the tight end over there.
Esimi Okosun just moving early.
You want to stay on schedule, have some success.
You're moving the ball.
Can't have those.
Can't beat yourself and beat this Bulldog team.
So makes it second down and ten as we go under 7 minutes to play here in the first quarter.
Been a great first quarter so far.
Both teams scoring on their first possessions.
Ball is complete to the tight end.
Odell.
Let's take a look at the starting lineup for North Gwinnett on defense, delivered by Johnny's New York style pizza.
Coxwell, Benemon and Glass and Autry.
The projected starters Coxwell again not playing tonight and Benemon was not starting Robinson, Godfree and Mazone on that second line.
And then you've got Ford, Gist and Johansen Johansen and Davis in the secondary.
Great job there.
By Jake Godfree from that middle backer spot, sniffing that out, seeing the play develop and then going making that tackle for no yardage.
Flag dropped, but there was still time on the play clock, so it might be a substitution penalty.
Taking a while to figure out the call.
Looks like they're going.
To.
Time-out North Gwinnett.
So apparently no flag, just a time-out called by North Gwinnett.
We'll step aside and take it with them.
Seven three North Gwinnett 633 to play in the opening quarter.

No need to be afraid of bugs.
Matt Stewart Wayne Gandy Jon Nelson and our Emmy Award winning GPB team with you here at Keith G. Maloof field at Blue Devils Stadium and North Gwinnett, a 73 lead on Norcross here in the first quarter, coming out of the time-out called by the Bulldogs, it's third down.
Wolfe being chased.
He's under a heavy rush and throws it away.
Gabe Autry and Josh Jones were breathing down his neck and it's going to be fourth down.
Great pressure by Josh Jones off of that edge.
Can't talk enough about how Jones and Lewis are playing defensively right here.
Little stunt getting to the edge right there.
Dipping around.
Good job by Gabe Autry as well.
Off of the corner.
Just no time to read the defense and get the ball off.
So it's going to be fourth down and ten.
And no doubt a punting situation here.
And Frey handles that to.
Elijah Brian for the Blue Devils.
So there's a flag down.
And so north Norcross.
They're going to call that intentional grounding.
Okay.
Five-Yard penalty.
Lost it down.
Fourth down.
Still in the pocket there is P.J.
Wolfe could not escape going backwards in the pocket.
You're still in the pocket at that point.
And just throwing the ball costing his team these yards.
But great aggression there.
As we talked about Autry and Jones on the pass rush.
No time to survey the field by Wolfe.
Frey standing at his 25 yard to kick and that's a bomb.
Hawkins calls fair catch.
Retreating has it go over his head and Norcross is going to down it inside the five yard line.
What a kick by Frey, the five star punter.
A bomb that lands inside the five.
What a weapon Frey brings to the field.
62, 185 senior is kicked off a great.
He usually kicks him into the end zone.
He's already shown you the leg with the long field goal right there.
Booming on the kick.
They're not just heroes, they're the Avengers saving the world.
One smart choice at a time.
Watch the new digital series now at gpb.org slash Avengers.
Great punt by Frey nails North Gwinnett deep in their own end.
Ball sitting on the three yard line and Halcomb now in there at quarterback, going to hand off to Taylor.
Taylor pulls his way forward for a couple of yards.
Halcomb just came in for one play right there.
You can see Rahman coming back into the game.
They typically will play two series each and then kind of see who has that hot hand.
Still running personnel on and off the field as North Gwinnett.
Ball ball ball ball.
Going deep into the play clock to get this ball off.
Down to six on the play clock.
And they hand it off to Taylor again.
And Taylor out across the ten to the 11 12 yard line.
12 yard line.
As we take a look at the North Gwinnett offense.
It's delivered by Johnny's New York style pizza.
Jones Odell Bayer, Torres and Lewis.
The three star committed to Georgia Mazone the running back Hawkins Jackson Jackson and Patterson, the wide receivers in the tight end.
Good tackle there coming up there by Joshua Burks to make that tackle on Wilson Taylor here out on the edge.
Burks can't talk enough about how he can play down right there in the run game.
Getting into the legs of Taylor Taylor falling forward though still to pick up that first down.
So first and ten.
Ball sitting on the 13.
Brown now in there at running back Rahman rolling is going to throw the ball to Hawkins.
Hawkins scoots down the sideline and gets tackled right there by Clermont.
But a first down for Hawkins.
Just a little sidearm throw right here from Rahman to Hawkins.
Here little quarterback roll out.
Nice job keeping the ball high.
Evan Hawkins making another play.
Just a football player as his Hawkins.
Yeah.
Hawkins a little stick of dynamite, isn't he?
Yeah.
He's explosive out on the edge.
Has that speed just hard to cover.
Man.
That size with that kind of quickness.
First down ball goes to Brown Stephen Brown right up the middle.
And Brown gashes him up to the 40 1 yard line.
Big hole in that middle.
Odell who's been around forever for this team at left guard.
Bayer Torres coming right down the gut breaking tackles.
Stephen Brown.
They rotate Brown Taylor.
Malzahn.
Malzahn starting on defense.
So probably play a little less on offense tonight.
Empty backfield set for Rahman now.
Fakes one way and goes the other.
Short gain.
Ball goes to Jackson.
Wisdom out there to make the tackle.
It's going to be second down as we take a look at the Norcross defense brought to you and delivered by Johnny's New York style pizza with Luckie, Wisdom, Jackson and Lewis up front.
Pitts, Davis and Allen on that second line and then Huff, Burks, Isabu and Jones in the secondary.
Second down.
Quarterback draw Rahman out across the ball.
Out as he went down at the 46.
Let's see if they're going to rule him down by contact.
They're going to rule him down by contact.
That's a close call right there.
That was close to a fumble.
Rahman more the bigger physical runner right here.
Empty backfield quarterback draw all the way.
Trying to look the defense off.
And it's taking a big hit right here as he lowers his shoulders.
Ball coming out.
Big hit.
Yeah that ball's out before he's down.
Big hit by Anthony Allen right there knocking that ball out.
Defense.
Norcross 39 yard line.
Big break there for North Gwinnett.
That ball coming out there after the hit.
And now switching back quarterbacks again Banks Halcomb is in there taking Rahman out.
Halcomb the right hander now in.
They're going to hand off to Mazone and Kalil Mazone up across the 45 and down to the 42.
Good block there by Zach Lewis leading the way.
The big right tackle headed to Georgia.
This offense can play physical rush offense when they want to.
Brings up second down and four.
Quarterback keeper Halcomb.
They're trying to strip him of the ball.
You could see Tyler Jackson reaching in there and trying to pull it away.
Good job there.
By Jackson more of an undersized linebacker up there playing tackle, but good job of getting off the block.
Has 47 tackles, a lot of tackles in there between Jackson and Wisdom as he tackles.
Halcomb has been offered by Georgia State, but he's wearing an Auburn towel around his waist tonight.
First thing I noticed when I saw him, he was he was tall, looked built for sophomore and he had the Auburn towel hanging from his waist.
I think Coach Godfree said both of his parents went to Auburn.
So War.
Eagle there.
War Eagles.
Nice catch out here on the near side by Taylor Wilson Taylor making the catch.
That's just his second catch of the season.
Comes at a good time.
First down.
Good throwing catch here by Banks Halcomb.
Good job right there.
Stopping getting that ball.
And once again rotating the quarterback.
You typically don't see that during a drive.
Or if you see it maybe you're going to a little wildcat.
But right now they're rotating the quarterbacks like they're running backs.
Do you see do you see Steve Spurrier over there on that.
Sideline.
Oh ball coach.
Yeah they're rotating the quarterbacks just like Steve Spurrier would do in the middle of a series.
Rahman back in there.
Taking a little time to get that play in right there.
Couldn't see the frustration in Coach Godfree having to call that Time-out.
So a Time-out called with 2-26 left in the first quarter, and North Gwinnett putting together another solid good looking drive.
This started at their three yard line.
After that great punt by Frey.
What's interesting about North Gwinnett, as we alluded to in the open, they had to replace all of their skill position players.
As you take a look at the North Gwinnett resume, 2017 state champions, they were state finalists in 2013 and a 13 14 loss to Norcross that year after they beat him for the region title, 11 region titles are going for their third consecutive.
We'll explain a little bit later on that quarterfinals.
Two of the last three seasons and the playoffs 20 of the last 21 seasons.
Thomas right now with a good drive going, the offensive line is taking control.
One of the keys to the game for them is this offensive line.
Even though you have three guys over there, as we continue to emphasize Jones, Odell and Lewis having major minutes tonight on that defensive line right now, starting to assert themselves and take control of the game.
And both quarterbacks doing a great job rotating in and keeping this drive alive.
So first and ten ball at the 30 1 yard line.
Spin move Rahman throws great catch by Patterson.
What a target he is at 6′6″, 245.
He's already got NFL tight end size as a junior in high school.
And he's a legit 66 going out on the field before the game.
Big kid looks the part.
And right here with the the one hand grab bringing it in right there big fella.
Looked like he was in the post on the basketball court right there.
Great job by Patterson.
When he plays basketball.
And coach Godfree said that really has helped him out on the football side of things.
As far as understanding spacing.
It does a good job using his body understands how to get open in that situation here.
Quarterback draw once again, Rahman taking the ball six feet 213.
Chase Huff on the tackle.
That'll be a. Quarterback run all the way here.
Backs blocking.
Good job there.
By Stephen Brown securing that edge.
Falling forward as Rahman.
Yeah North Gwinnett has been really physical in this game so far in their running game with their quarterback.
They've done a really good job.
You know I was wondering a little bit about how you rotate these quarterbacks.
And I was thinking, you know every other series they're doing it within the series and it's working for them tonight.
To the outside Taylor trying to scoot around the edge.
And he's going to be tackled at the 12 yard line.
Couldn't get there.
For no gain at the 12.
Tackled by a host of Louisville.
Good job there.
Bouncing his ball to the outside by Taylor.
His guard pulls Odell falls down right there getting to the edge.
Braylon Jackson reaching, letting the jersey go right there before he gets the horse.
Call it the jersey go, but we still have Wilson Taylor down right here.
Taylor is injured on the play.
He made a great point in high school football.
If you do that that is a horse collar penalty.
If you don't let it go.
Whereas you know in the pros you can pull them down by the jersey.
You just can't grab the inside of that shoulder pads.
But in high school football they extend that rule to include pulling a player down by the neck of the jersey.
So a great drive put together.
Remember this thing started at the three yard line.
And North Gwinnett has done a really good job of running the ball, passing the ball.
They've done an excellent job.
Todd Faulkner, who was their offensive coordinator, stopped by and said hello in the booth right before we went on the air.
Of course, he played at Parkview.
His brother Buster is the offensive coordinator at Georgia Tech and his nephew, Harrison is the quarterback at North Oconee led him to the state title last year.
Yeah, we got a lot of family going on.
We do the Maloof and the stadium here at Norcross.
You talk about Coach Godfree and his son.
There's a lot of family ties.
We do.
Always great to call these kind of games because people are invested emotionally and spiritually.
Second down and six.
Once again taking a little time to get this play going here.
Rahman looks to Patterson.
He's got it.
Actually, that's going to be Braylon Jackson.
Pardon me.
Braylon Jackson Jackson down to the four yard line.
And he's a really physical wide receiver too.
They like to run the short game with him because he's so strong after he catches the ball.
That's 23 catches coming in to the game here tonight.
Yeah 6′1″, 195.
Strong hands a physical blocker right there.
Just a little five yard turn around.
Let me throw you the ball in your numbers.
And you try to get another two or 3 yards.
Great job.
Throw and catch by the quarterback and the receiver.
First and goal to go as we approach 1 minute to play here in the first quarter.
Truly just walking the ball down the field.
Just taking what the defense gives him.
Playing physical in that offensive line, running the ball.
Roll out Rahman throws touchdown to Hawkins and North Gwinnett has a 13-3 lead and impressive 97 yard drive.
Penalty.
We do have a a flag down.
I know they're using the pink flags tonight.
And there's.
See what Kevin Williams has for us.
Looks like.
Against North Gwinnett.
Pass interference offense 15 yards from the previous spot.
Still first down.
Usually in those situations, you have some kind of pick play.
I didn't see it.
Though, where someone as you're trying, you have to just kind of face guard.
Don't make contact, run the route and you see the defender coming, kind of freeze and make him go and belly around you.
Usually that's enough time, but big penalty there taking points off the board.
So that erases the touchdown and pushes the ball out beyond the 20.
Again at the 21 where it's first and goal to go from there.
Rahman stays in there at quarterback and Mazone in there at running back.
And a play action.
And Rahman goes to Hawkins again and slips a tackle and gets stopped at the ten.
Gist knows how to get open.
Here is Evan Hawkins working in the slot right here.
Left handed quarterback Rahman throwing the little slant.
Just getting open right there in front of Braylon Jackson.
Excuse me, in front of Chase Huff.
So second down and goal ball sitting inside the 11 Hawkins has already had a big first quarter.
That was his third catch of the quarter.
Right up the middle and down to the one.
Khalil Malzahn, the bigger of the backs.
As we talked about a dynamic linebacker right here.
Look at the pull.
Look at the hole right there.
Nice job there by Christian Odell.
Good job by Jake Torres.
Kind of bouncing around and eventually finding someone.
Third down and goal.
And Mazone looks like he got into me.
No they're going to say he's down inside the one on the final play of the quarter.
I thought he got in.
Good job there.
Chase Huff coming.
That safety position to get into the legs of Khalil Malzahn.
And that is the end of the first.
North Gwinnett on top 73.
They are in the middle of a 97 yard drive.
Third and goal.
When we start the second quarter.

It's renewable and sustainable.
Naturally.
Thanks.
That's a polyester fiber made of oil.
By the way.
Where's your dressing room?
Football Fridays in Georgia.
Presented by the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
Heads up, Georgia, Park your phone while you're driving.
It saves lives.
As we start the second quarter here at Norcross North Gwinnett.
73 lead.
They have driven 96 yards from their own three yard line down to the one.
And Wayne, as we start the fourth quarter it's fourth down and goal from the one.
It's been a physical drive.
The example of how you walk the ball down the field.
Just taking what the defense is giving physical added the running play of the quarterback in this quarter.
At the end of that quarter and that drive.
And now with an opportunity, you imagine that Mazone is going to get this ball here.
He's the bigger back falls forward.
Jake Godfree takes it in the Wildcat and runs it in.
Jake Godfree scores the touchdown from 1 yard out to make it 13-3 And that's that package.
Coach Godfree said he doesn't play as much, but they do draw up specific plays right there.
Having Godfree in the Wildcat.
No good blocking there by his linebacker teammate.
Mazone just falling.
Really.
No one to have to evade to get in for the touchdown.
So time for the Pat and Liam Hughey will take it right here.
How come the backup quarterback is the holder?
Godfree is the long snapper.
And the kick is up and the kick is good.
It's 14-3 That's actually Jacob Bayer.
He snaps on the place, kicks and Godfree snaps on the punts.
And Godfree does just about everything, including scoring a 1 yard touchdown run and a 14-3 lead.
As you take a look at the DBHDD new red ribbon 365 curriculum scoring drive 18 plays, 18 plays, 97 yards over half a quarter to take an 11 point lead.
You got the run game going.
The offensive line a big factor in that drive.
Want to get physical up front.
Started running the ball with the quarterback.
And right here great blocking.
Look Patterson the tight end.
Now from this angle you were looking for the other number.
It said seven.
You was looking because he's so big as a tight end.
But a great job of him out on that edge.
Max Patterson the junior a lot of people, more people are going to come in the next couple of months looking for him, blocking that way.
Just an easy touchdown.
Great wrinkle out of the quarter.
Kick's going to be taken inside the five yard line.
And Huff still on his feet up to the 22 23 yard line.
And that's where Norcross will go on offense.
And now they're down 11 points.
They've got to score a touchdown.
They got to go down and show this Bulldog defense that they came to play.
Got to move the ball.
Finish some drives make some plays.
I still feel like PJ Wolfe a good athlete.
He's going to have to start making some plays.
Get in the game, get in the rhythm.
Using his legs.
Yeah.
PJ receiving interest from Valdosta State.
Plus he has multiple over ten offers from Naia and D-3 schools.
64185 senior.
Good decision maker.
Very competitive.
Going to toss the ball out there to Edwards and he gets stopped right away by Andrew Gist.
Their senior safety.
Rover who's committed to yell.
Great job right there.
Being in position kind of hybrid linebacker safety sometimes five right here out in the open space keeping the helmet.
Look at the helmet to the outside, making sure that the runner goes back inside.
And then just getting into those wheels, those legs and bringing them down.
611 88 senior physicality down in the box.
But has range to cover.
Headed to Yale.
Pick the Bulldogs.
The Yale.
Bulldogs the Yale Bulldogs.
Over six.
Other offers.
Looks like a time-out's going to be called by Norcross.
And we'll step aside as they're facing second down and eight here early in the second quarter.

Early second quarter 143 lead North Gwinnett when trouble strikes, the Avengers step up, join the team and learn how to be a hero.
To watch now at gpb.org slash Avengers Matt Stewart Wayne Gandy Jon Nelson.
Thanks for joining us tonight.
Starting 30 minutes earlier tonight, but a great night for football here.
Next to last weekend of the regular season.
Hard to believe, but we're already there.
Hand off.
Goes to Jace Jones.
Jason Jones who has a starting cornerback.
So both teams using players both ways tonight.
Great job here Khalil Mazone staying home playing the technique and making the tackle.
That's all you can do right there at that star position right there doing a great job keeping this team in second and third and long.
They're testing PJ Wolfe and this receiving corps.
Can they throw the ball.
They're playing the run and shutting it down.
So far the Bulldogs.
Third down and five.
This is a big third down conversion opportunity here for Norcross.
They need to get the first.
They go up top Wolfe and incomplete.
Trying to get the ball to Travis at the 50 yard line.
Now it's going to be fourth down.
Yeah tight coverage there by Bryson Ford on Titus Travis running step for step.
Is this young man Bryson Ford 6′1″, 180 junior came into the game with three interceptions.
They're really only place for PJ Wolfe to try to put that ball is downfield.
And gifting once again the ball to this North Gwinnett team who seems to be playing on a different energy level.
I was a little surprised they took a shot right there because they really needed to get the first down, thought they might do something a little bit more intermediate to try to get that first down.
Yeah, just something functional.
First day that you can just get 5 yards.
Crye kicks it high.
It's going to hit at the 40 and take a Blue Devils bounce.
And he gets about 18 yards on the bounce all the way down to the 22-1 thing I. Return man right there.
If you're Evan Hawkins Bearcats that and go feel the ball right there.
That is your ball.
You have to be aggressive.
Sometimes you don't want to give those ten 12 yards away on a roll.
You can still clear everybody out and feel that ball.
So Halcomb is going to come in here at quarterback this time.
Rahman has been very good so far in this game.
Rahman seven of 760 6 yards and a touchdown and also 15 yards rushing.
Pump fake Halcomb up top and great catch at the 49 yard line.
It wasn't broken up.
Apparently did not come down with it.
Great individual effort here by Braylon Jackson going in between two defenders.
Nice throw by Halcomb dropping it in just on that landing right there.
Just could not hold on to that ball.
But what an effort by that young man as we talked about offered by UT Martin.
And he's a little shaken up most likely from falling on that ball.
It hurts.
Don't do that at home.
Don't don't go and try to reenact that.
It is something that will definitely take the wind out of you falling on that ball.
You know what's interesting about North Gwinnett is they were replacing all these skill position players, including their three year starter at quarterback.
They were really struggling offensively at the start of the season, scored only seven points in their 217 loss to Douglas County and Mercedes Benz in the cortical Dave Hunter classic.
But since that time, during the seven game winning streak, they're outscoring opponents 42-7 Yeah, they really in a groove and they are leaning on this offensive line.
They have the experience.
They're strong up front.
Great blocking.
Just been relying on them in this run game to set the tempo and using these quarterbacks as we saw with Rahman being able to run the ball.
And now Halcomb is going to run the ball right up the middle.
Wisdom makes the tackle at the 26 yard line.
Brought down at the 26 yard line.
Gist quarterback draw.
Try to get four or 5 yards.
Make this third and manageable is Todd Faulkner.
Third down.
So third down and six is what they'll call it right here.
Bulldogs are two of three so far on third downs tonight.
Bottom of your screen you have Braylon Jackson.
Looks like he's in a one on one situation with Jordan Isabu.
Coverage has rolled over now they drop out.
Hand off goes to Brown.
Stephen Brown.
Big hole.
First down and Brown all the way up to the 40 yard line as North Gwinnett continues to impose their will on offense.
Tackle made by Anthony Allen.
Another great blocking up front.
Watch this blocking right here.
Look at this hole right here Matt I know you've been around long.
That's that's called blocking right there.
Those kind of holes not negotiating the defender for seven 8 yards down the field.
Good job by that offensive line.
Especially inside there with the two guards.
And tackle.
77 yards rushing for the Bulldogs already tonight.
Ball goes to Patterson I love Max Patterson.
How can you not love a target like that.
A true weapon, a mismatch.
They designed plays each and every week to get him the ball.
Trying to find him in those one on one matchups already showing you the ability to catch the ball with one hand.
Just a big target and just hard to cover as he develops.
Only a junior.
He has 15 offers, including Georgia State, App State and Wake Forest.
We see him this time next year.
He'll have double that offers.
He'll probably be 2 " taller.
He's just huge in the run by Halcomb across midfield down to the 46 and another first down for North Gwinnett.
Great job there by Halcomb falling for it.
We saw him before the game.
Good looking sophomore 6′3″, 180.
Good job blocking the O line.
Little zone outside zone play quarterback draw taking the big hit there by Wisdom able to get up.
Corey Richardson told us that his offensive and defensive lines have really carried them this season.
But tonight so far it's North Gwinnett lines that are winning the battle pass thrown low for Hawkins.
Rolling out to that left side a little harder.
There going Halcomb and that situation to throw the ball being a right hander.
And you can say the same thing about Halcomb that I just said about Patterson.
I mean, he's just a sophomore has that offer by Georgia State.
We see him this time next year.
He's going to have 15 offers.
Yeah, he'd be 61 Faure put on another 20 pounds.
Just so much room to grow.
Hand off goes to Taylor Taylor Wilson Taylor right up the middle.
Linebacker Miles Davis making the tackle.
But that's going to be another first down for North Gwinnett.
Once again Max Patterson leading the way.
The offensive line just running guys as they run those stunts inside.
Didn't quite get the first down.
It's third down now.
Mazone did get the first down as he gets down inside the 35 down to the 31.
That's 11 first downs already for North Gwinnett in this game.
This Bulldog offense is looking like the defense just controlling the line.
Look at the pull there.
Nice job.
But Dzahli-sowu.
Down inside the 30 to the 27 goes Mazone.
On the tackle.
Just bread and butter.
Old school run plays conversion by the quarterback's Banks Halcomb very much in control of this drive.
181 total yards for North Gwinnett, 29 for Norcross.
Right now this defense of the Blue Devils has no answer for the quarterback run.
Ball in the air and broken up on the crossing route.
Trying to go to Jackson right there.
And a flag is out.
Probably going to have a pass interference on the defense.
Two receivers in the same area right there.
Mistake by North Gwinnett.
They're going to get bailed out.
Tight coverage by Jordan.
Jordan Isabu.
Let's see if they're going to say the ball was tipped.
Long discussion right here.
What a job Eric Godfree has done since making the move from his alma mater, Parkview to North Gwinnett.
They feel like they could win a state championship this year.
With the way their defense has played all season, and they've only given up.
Eight points per game.
And the way the offense has come on, they feel like they could do it.
Good job.
Let's see if someone got a hand on this ball high throw.
Man downfield on the offense.
Passing offense on the defense.
The penalty is offset.
We're going to replay.
Replay the down.
So offsetting still redo.
Second down.
Interesting call downfield illegal man downfield ball came out pretty quick right there I know you play action up front trying to get the linebackers to suck up in that situation and throw behind him.
Hawkins on the jet sweep Hawkins inside the 20 inside the ten and Hawkins all the way down to the three.
Evan Hawkins on the carry.
This offense is really in a groove blocking.
They're blocking for each other out on the edge.
Receivers, tight ends, jet sweep action here.
Good job.
By Stephen Brown.
Look at the finish right there by the running back as Hawkins comes around the corner.
And always a heartbeat from scoring as Hawkins with the speed he has.
First and goal to go.
Handoff goes to Brown.
Touchdown.
North Gwinnett and it's 20-3 Stephen Brown from 3 yards out.
Physicality at his finest right here in this drive up front by the offensive line.
The tight ends the backs are blocking right here.
Just blocked down.
Good job of blocking by Patterson A pull there by Suu for the kick out.
The young junior.
Just really taking over this game in a physical way are the Bulldogs.
Yeah they're dominating right now hugely on for the P.a.t.
Just about every way you slice it right here.
They are dominating this game 214 total yards 31 plays 29 yards for Norcross 15 plays.
So nearly 200 yards more of offense.
They've doubled up the plays.
They've had the ball for three more minutes than they have.
And they lead it 21-7 Following an 11 play, 78 yard drive in the DBHDD new Red ribbon 365 curriculum scoring drive.
They got the run game going as we talked about the quarterback run game going, which is not really been stopped tonight.
And now all the gifts are there for these two quarterbacks able to spread the ball around multiple backs in the game.
And right now just a physical dominance that this Blue Devil team has to answer.
And you feel like they have to answer it in this drive in some kind of capacity.
Brayden Clark kicking off for North Gwinnett.
So the.
Kick.
Coming down at the five yard line return by Jones and Jason Jones gets stonewalled at the 22 yard line by Taran.
And that's where the Blue Devils will go on offense.
Take a look at the Norcross resume.
State champions under Keith Maloof back in 20 12-20 23.
We were talking to Coach Maloof before the game, and in 2013 they beat North Gwinnett 31 14, coach Maloof all time winningest coach in Gwinnett County history, 210 wins and seven of the eight region titles in program history came under Coach Maloof, and they've been to the playoffs 15 straight seasons.
19 of the last 20 years.
Love how coach says that he gave up coaching his back.
Stop hurting.
He can move around better now.
The stress is gone.
Gets up in the morning and doesn't work.
Doesn't have to work if he doesn't want to.
Ball is thrown complete and Noel-saint and Noel-saint tackled by Davis up at the 49 yard line.
Norcross really needed that.
Drew Noel-saint working Little slant post route.
Good throw and catch here.
Good decision.
Quick decision by Wolfe and you feel like they just got to get into the end zone.
They need some chunk plays.
Start moving the ball.
Play with a little more tempo.
Edwards gets the handoff and he gets stopped right there at the line of scrimmage.
No running room.
They've had a hard time trying to run the ball against this North Gwinnett defense.
Gabe Autry right there in on his 511235.
A blue collar worker up there on that d n and that's the thing with this defense has excelled.
They just have taken the run game of Norcross away.
Made them one dimensional.
And they're going to make them until PJ Wolfe loses his defense up.
Ball in the air.
And it's going to be caught by Noel-saint and incomplete.
Got separated from the ball by Bryson Ford.
Baig hit Bryson Ford.
Did throw a flag on that.
Maybe a celebration penalty or something.
A taunting penalty, perhaps.
Two flags on this play, but it looked like a clean hit from our vantage point.
Right here.
Came up.
Wow.
No helmet, no head contact right there.
Just a physical hit.
Yeah.
Might be.
A late.
Hit right there.
The second guy coming in not Ford Ford hit was clean, just really hard.
And right there it looks like the defender is thinking maybe the ball is fumbled and he's trying to get to that ball.
That ball did come out.
15 yards added to the end of the run.
First down.
Blue Devils with a break right there.
And you got to take advantage of it.
You got to punch this ball in the end zone, especially the way that North Gwinnett is controlling the clock and being able to walk the ball down the field.
Wolfe going to throw back, going to try to ball in the air and it's wide open and dropped.
Oh my goodness.
Complete intended for.
Kendall Edwards was wide open on the wheel route and couldn't bring it in.
Wide open right here.
Nobody goes with him on this wheel route.
Little play action fake comes free and then just cannot come up with the catch.
There's the senior.
Big play missed there by the Blue Devils.
Second down and ten after a missed touchdown right.
They're going to throw it to Edwards again.
This time he catches it behind him and is able to spin and get across the 30 down to the 26.
5 minutes to play here in the opening half.
North Gwinnett leading 21-3 win by the Bulldogs.
And they'll be the region champs.
Pass a little behind him right there.
Good body control by Edwards able to catch that ball and get up the field.
And you got to feel like Coach Richardson is in a four down mindset in this situation.
I know Frey is a is a great kicker.
He definitely within his range here.
But got to start feeling like these situations.
You got to be a little more aggressive.
Can't win with threes when the other teams score in sevens.
Scoring seven and controlling and eating up a lot of clock when they do.
Burks on the Wildcat run and going to lunge forward to the 26 Bryson Ford the corner making the tackle and it's going to be fourth down.
Faure looks like the Blue Devils are going to keep the offense out on the field.
Let's see if they're going to stay in that Wildcat.
It looks like PJ Wolfe is coming back in the game.
I think at third, fourth and three it's a little bit long to try to run for it here, especially the way North Gwinnett is shutting down the run right now.
Looks like Joshua Burke is going to stay in the game as well.
Always dangerous.
Defense has to keep their eyes on him in this situation.
His individual effort with the ball in his hand.
He's their most dynamic running back.
Whether it's in the Wildcat or a tailback position.
I think a Time-out is going to be called by North Gwinnett.
North Gwinnett, pardon me.
Norcross Norcross is calling the time-out.
Fourth and three coming up when we get back.

Coming up for the home side as they try to narrow the margin coming up at the half.
It is the halftime show.
We'll take a tour around the state.
Some surprising early numbers from some precincts reporting down south.
Big region games.
They're catching catch up with our friends from Heads Up Georgia.
Catch up with our friends from you.
Save it.
Catch up with our friends from Georgia EMC.
All coming up around the corner.
Halftime show.
Matt, walk us through this fourth down.
Yeah Nelly, this is the best time of year in high school football.
You got region championships being decided tonight.
And then next Friday night, the final week of the regular season.
And right here they're going to bring Frey on for a field goal.
This will be a 40 yard attempt right in the middle.
Bulldogs got to be aware of any kind of fake here.
You can see as they all are standing up.
, kick is placed down and the kick is on its way and the kick is going to be good.
No good.
Oh wow, I thought he got it through.
From it.
Looks like it went through there.
Yeah.
But apparently he pushed it off to the side or did not straighten it out.
Let's take another look at it right here.
He had a straight on shot.
Plenty of leg.
Did it make it over the.
Wow.
Right to the outside.
Just almost right over the top of the upright.
A little bit off to the side.
And Frey misses.
And so the score remains 21-3 Very surprised that Coach Richardson didn't go for it in that situation.
I know you want to get some feeling, feel good in you by getting some points on the board, but the way this offense for North Gwinnett is playing, you got to start thinking touchdowns.
Ball goes out here to Jackson Braylon Jackson with the catch and the run up to the 33 yard line.
Really like Braylon Jackson.
Just big physical big target.
Just get the ball in his hands.
As you can see right there.
Very reliable strong hands.
Nice catch number 4 for him tonight.
Yeah.
Him and Hawkins are making a good duo.
When you add in Max Patterson a lot of weapons to play with.
For these quarterbacks.
Rahman pump fake fires in the middle and it's caught by Jackson again.
Shrugs a tackle.
And Jackson we talked about his strength earlier in the night.
Shows it right there as he gets down to the 46.
Tough to tackle as coach Godfree said.
He's just one of those guys.
He's big.
He's strong.
Little pump fake action right there by Rahman and just a big target throwing guys off of him right there as he finishes the run.
First and ten.
Rahman off the hands of Jackson that time.
A little bit too hot for him.
Maybe.
Jackson.
That was Jordan Isabu on the coverage.
And it's going to be second down.
I was getting ready to say, what about anything you've seen from North Gwinnett?
Don't you like?
I mean, everything they've done tonight looks good.
Yeah, everything.
The offensive line is taking control.
The receivers are making themselves available.
Both quarterbacks are showing you they can throw from the pocket.
They're willing to run the ball and defensively it's just a blanket that Norcross can't take off of him right now.
Rahman it's going to be caught at the 39 yard line.
That's Jackson again.
Braylon Jackson putting on a clinic right now as he's down to the 38.
Catch number 5.
Showing you all the routes, showing you all the aspects and the receiver that you want.
Crossing route out routes, slants, physical runs at the end.
And these two quarterbacks are very confident that he's going to make a play for him.
Hand off goes to Taylor Taylor finds a hole and shoots through it.
And Taylor all the way down to the 18 yard line.
Dragging Blue Devils defenders with him.
Absolutely no penetration by the Blue Devils defensive front.
Up front right here.
Pulling around.
Great kick out block there by Christian Odell.
The left guard.
No blue jersey at the line of scrimmage to put any hat on these running backs.
North Gwinnett threatening to score their fourth touchdown of the half ball goes out there to Hawkins makes one man miss and Hawkins down to the ten.
Beautiful job of leading Hawkins right here is Elam Rahman on this throw and catch giving him the ball in a situation where he can make a defender miss Evan Hawkins right here.
Watch how he leads him.
He can see the defender, look at him.
Great pass.
Great move right there to get out of that tackle by Jayden Clermont.
Good job there by Rahman.
A time-out called by Norcross.
They changed the quarterback so fast you can't figure out which one actually made the play.
I mean it's amazing that they're able to rotate quarterbacks in in the middle of a series.
You hear coaches talk about it a lot, but rarely do they do it.
And they do it like nothing.
And they're doing it to do the same thing.
It's not like you're doing it.
And then one's an option guy or a guy, they're throwing the same routes.
Guys are just making plays right now.
And coach talked about they both run the same system.
It's not like they call real different plays.
Yeah.
It's almost as if North Gwinnett and Norcross are in a dark room right now.
And Norcross is taking punches from North Gwinnett.
They just don't know where it's coming from.
Yeah.
Take a look at the region standings.
Here's what's on the line tonight.
North Gwinnett with a victory will be the region champions.
They're going for four in a row.
They count the 2023 co-championship.
Even though they weren't the number 1 seed.
They're counting that and I don't disagree with them.
This would be fourth.
It'd be four region championships in a row.
One of them being a Ko.
Norcross was actually the region champion that year in 2023, but they've never done that.
That was one of their goals here is to win it four years in a row.
Taran is going to throw it back to the quarterback and it's broken up and a flag comes out on the play.
Rahman went out for the pass and Taran threw the pass.
End zone.
Great execution here.
A little reverse pass back to the quarterback.
Wide open.
Coming over late is Chase Huff.
You can see right here execution.
Defense is completely fooled.
Late right there.
You can see.
Huff to the goal.
Results of the penalty.
Half the distance to the.
Goal line.
First down.
See Huff never finding the football.
Just running into the chest.
Can't really fault him for that.
Take the penalty and put it at the one before I give up the touchdown.
But great call there by Todd Faulkner.
Yeah, so with the penalty they're going to put the ball down at five.
First and goal to go with 1-15 to play in the half.
Hand off goes to Mazone Mazone going to get stopped at the two.
The ball carrier.
The finish Max Patterson the big tight end driving guys to the ground securing the edge of my zone.
Just dominance in the in the rush game here for the Bulldogs.
Second down and goal.
They run the ball and surprise you.
Even look to the sideline.
Just run the same play on the other side.
The offensive line and tight ends taking control up front.
Fake the jet sweep.
Rahman going to throw.
Slings it in the middle.
Touchdown.
North Gwinnett as the ball goes to Mazone he snuck out of the backfield to the back of the end zone.
And it's 27-3 Great patience there by Rahman.
Play action.
Just kind of getting lost in that mix of bodies is Mazone watch as he fakes right here.
Just kind of gets lost in the bodies and then comes open, making himself available there in the middle of the field.
Touchdown.
Healy on for the P.a.t.
And the kick is no good this time.
No good.
So it stays 27-3 But what a dominant first half for North Gwinnett.
The jet sweep action right there.
Patience by Rahman.
And just kind of being patient himself as Mazone getting lost in the back in the bodies there.
And then just choosing to come back to the middle of the field making himself available.
Good.
Throw and catch.
It's really just been dominance here in the first half by North Gwinnett.
Eight plays, 80 yards, 3 minutes DBHDD the new red ribbon 365.
Curriculum 12 of 13 Rahman in the first half for 118 and a couple of touchdowns.
He has been impressive.
But then again, everything about North Gwinnett across the board has been impressive.
Tonight.
Kick taken at the one by Huff Huff straight up the middle and Huff not wrapped up.
Finally goes down at the 21.
With 20s left in the half.
Andruw Gist with the tackle.
I think at this point Norcross you just take a knee and get to the locker room and see if you can come up with something that's going to work for you in the third quarter.
Yeah.
Smart move right here.
Just taking a knee, taking it.
That's the half end.
Go regroup.
A lot of people like to come out and continue to try to throw something deep.
But right here just want to get off this field and try to reset and come out with a better attitude, a better approach.
It has been a tough first half and made even tougher there, as Huff is being helped to the bench.
Might have been the final play of the second quarter right there on the run to Edwards.
Tackle by Harris.
Stick around.
Nelly coming up at halftime.
Looks like they want to squeeze in another play right here.
Going to go to the air.
Throws it up there for Noel-saint and double coverage.
Stops the clock with 2 seconds.
To.
Just a go.
Route.
Trying to test Bryson Ford down at the bottom of your screen with Noel-saint.
Now you're going to test these corners.
Bryson Ford has three interceptions this season, leads the team with 13 pass defenses.
He gets a lot of work because nobody throws at Chauncey CJ Davis, who has not given up a touchdown pass in his entire career.
And only really been challenged tonight.
Once on that side of the field.
Final play of the half and the run by Edwards.
And that will do it.
And that is the end of the first half.
Very impressive first half for the North Gwinnett Bulldogs as they'll head to the locker room leading 27-3 here in this 30th all time meeting between these two Gwinnett County rivals.
Yeah sometimes the score is not indicative of how the play has been, but 27-3 is really how this game has been in the first half.
288 total yards for North Gwinnett, 90 for Norcross, 16 first downs for North Gwinnett, seven for Norcross, 154 on the ground for North Gwinnett, 39 for Norcross.
It has been as dominant as those numbers would indicate.
And the halftime interview is brought to you by Johnny's New York style pizza Nelly.
Thank you very much.
Matt here with the coach, just under 300 yards of total offense in the first half, one drive, 97, one drive 80.
You're hitting it on everything so far.
Yes, I did either.
97 ones we're most proud of.
Take the ball and we weren't coming out every week.
Every Tuesday we were coming out drill and to see it be successful like that.
And at the same time, between the tackles, you're making sure that their run game isn't getting any traction at all whatsoever.
Dominant front.
Seven, right?
Yes.
We fit the box really well.
We have at least we hope we keep doing fitting well.
Thanks for.
Your time.
Yep.
Thank you.
Eric Godfree.
He's got a 24 point lead.
He's up 27-3 When we come back it's the halftime show.
We promise.
We got scores around the state.
All of our sponsors, all the stuff.
Info you need to know coming up on the great GPB stick and stay.
We'll be right back.
Hi.
What do you think, Jasper?
Honestly, I think that polyester shirts affecting your game.
What?
I think cotton would have been a better choice.
Cotton.
Yeah, it's come a long way.
You know, nowadays, cotton breeze and wicks moisture.
Great.
Plus, buying cotton means supporting Georgia farmers.
I think that's wonderful.
Okay, sure.
But what do you think about the putt?
Oh, it's really hadn't thought about it.

Welcome back.
To the Maloof, where it is all North Gwinnett.
Here at the intermission, it is 273.
It is all North Gwinnett.
Welcome to the halftime show here on Football Fridays in Georgia.
Let's take the tour.
No dilly no dally zone because we got a lot of stuff to get into here at the half.
Let's get into the scores around the state.
And there are some surprises in some other precincts that are going on down in South Georgia.
Here are the numbers that we got here.
Page number 1 right now.
Central Carroll taking control of Griffin.
That one's in the second quarter I can update that one that is now 14 to nothing Harrison and Hillgrove.
They were tied at seven in the first.
Hillgrove and Harrison.
This is a fight for that.
Number 2 in the region.
Loser of this one.
They're going to have to go on the road probably when it comes to the postseason.
Lowndes and Richmond Hill.
Richmond Hill actually had a 147 lead tied at 14.
Second quarter.
Marist leading Lithonia 14-0 That one's in the first quarter.
And a low scoring game at the jackets nest two high powered offenses.
So of course 3-0 First quarter, page two.
New Manchester in Rome Rome now up 10-0 We can update you that one in the second quarter.
Gainesville a 73 lead on Roswell.
That one's in the first Benedictine taking care of Perry right now.
10-0 That one's in the first Peach County and Cairo down in Decatur County.
This one's for a region championship.
7-0 Second quarter there.
And also north Atlanta.
West Forsyth.
That one's in the second quarter.
We can update that one.
It is now 103 North Atlanta.
Some surprises also in region 168.
We'll tell you about that as the night goes along.
Time to catch up now with our friends from Cigna.
The signature moment.
This time a very important topic especially for the young student athletes.
Find out about concussions from our friends from Cigna.
We hear about athletes getting concussions, but you may not realize just how common they are in everyday life.
Kirk Erickson, Cigna Healthcare general manager for Georgia and Alabama, is here to share tips on how to prevent and treat a concussion.
Kirk, we're in football season, but how common are concussions?
Well, we love football, but concussions are more common than you think outside of football.
It's not just football players.
It's not just athletes that are prone to get them.
It could be a fall in the shower, a bike accident, a playground mishap.
Our kids are exposed to concussion type opportunities quite often.
Football players wear helmets.
They have pads.
What about everyday people?
How can we protect ourselves?
Well, we don't want to walk around in bubble wrap.
That would be awfully weird, but we want to make sure we're using the proper protective gear and make sure you're using the technology that's the most up to date.
So if you get a concussion, what should you do?
Take time to heal.
So for teens and children, it can take 4-6 weeks or even longer.
Make sure you're in dialog with coaches and with teachers and friends to make sure they know what your child is recovering from, and they can watch for symptoms that might pop back up, you might think you're healing, and then all of a sudden you take a turn for the worse.
So make sure everybody knows what your child is healing from and that they can heal over the right amount of time.
Yeah, that rest is so important.
Kirk, thank you so much for being here and sharing this important information.
Thank you.
If you'd like to learn more about concussions, please go to cigna.com.
Cheered on varsity for three years.
Thanks to our friends from Cigna, as always for our signature moments that you see here on Football Fridays all season long.
Tagging in.
It's our friends from Heads Up Georgia with a very important six letter word.
This time we find out about the importance of that particular part of the car that makes things stop.
B r a k e. Throughout high school.
Burks is a nonprofit charity that spreads awareness about safe and responsible driving.
It stands for Be responsible and Keep Everyone Safe.
It was started back in 2008 when Doug Herbert, NHRA Top Fuel racer, lost both his boys in a horrible car crash.
Doug quickly found out that car crashes were the leading cause of death for young teens, so he felt compassion to try to make a difference and try to provide the community with some safe driving tips and training.
Who thinks they got the most out of this experience?
Our program lasts 3 hours long start to finish.
Our trained instructors will take these teens out and a controlled environment put them into panic type situations, and then teach them how to deal with that type of situation.
Trust the vehicle, learn car control and hopefully with that training we can break some bad habits, teach them some new habits and hopefully when they get back on the streets and highways, they make better decisions behind the wheel.
Off the gas.
Keep looking, keep looking, keep looking.
Good job.
We're one of the only teen driving schools that requires a parent to attend, and they can get some training so we can make them better driver coaches and teach them what the new technology in today's vehicle has to offer.
It's a lot different what they were taught 20 or 30 years ago, and they've also probably developed some bad habits along the way.
Go go go go go go go break.
So we will be coming back to Atlanta November 22 and 23rd.
And we think this training is important for any driver behind the wheel.
If you're young or old, and we just look forward to getting those teens trained up and make them successful.

Penultimate week of the regular season.
Region titles getting decided tonight.
Some having to wait till next week.
It's positioning.
It's home.
Who's on the road?
We have the answers for you coming up.
Second half as we progress here on the evening.
Now it's time to catch up with our youth Davis Student Athlete of the week.
This time we go to Thomasville.
And traditionally, when it comes to the U.S.
Open and golf, a guy like me either goes as a spectator or goes to cover it.
We get to catch up with someone who actually got to play in it.
Here's Mason's story.
Family, teammates.
Mason is an elite talent due to his work ethic and how he manages his time.
He wants to win.
He's not out there for a participation trophy.
I can promise you that.
It was awesome playing in front of a crowd like that and playing against some of the best players in the world and players that I grew up watching, that was a crazy feeling.
It's something I never really thought I would be doing.
He doesn't get wrapped up in, you know, success.
He's always looking forward.
We've been super blessed as a family that we get to watch Mason live out his dream as playing golf, because it's all he's ever wanted to do.
For as long as I can remember.
Him winning the U.S.
Amateur now makes him the third youngest to ever do so.

You can go to their YouTube channel and find out the longer versions of all these interviews all season long.
Okay, time to catch up with our friends from Georgia EMC.
And for this one, we take a trip to a really cool place.
GMC prep in Milledgeville.
Here's their version of catching the Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship.
Award and Tyler.
Washington EMC.
And 35 other.
Participating Georgia Electric membership cooperatives congratulate GMC Preparatory School on winning the GHSA Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award.
This award honors schools that exhibit exemplary sportsmanship during competitive events.
Only one school in each region in each classification is chosen to receive this annual award.
The GHSA takes into consideration all aspects of sportsmanship, making the award a tribute to the entire community.
Washington EMC is so proud to present the GHSA Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award to Georgia military College Prep School.
This school lives by the Code of Duty, honor, and country and is so amazing that we also recognize them for their dedication to sportsmanship and everything they do.
Introduced in 2006, this award reinforces the GHSA philosophy that everyone associated with high school activities, from athletes to spectators, should adhere to the fundamental values it represents.
It just reaffirms what we try to instill into our program.
It's not always about the wins and losses, it's how you react to the game.
Your character is going to carry a lot farther than a win or loss in any sport.
Every morning during the formation, we have the motto duty, honor, country and we try to elevate the character of our individuals and it just helps us reiterate that we're doing it right here.
Georgia EMC in the 36 participating Georgia Electric membership cooperatives are proud to sponsor the Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award.
Congratulations to the GMC Preparatory School Bulldogs Community.
Thanks, as always to our friends at Georgia's EMCs and also thanks to our friends at GMC prep.
It was really cool to be down there for the first time in our presentations for the Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award.
Okay, when we come back, you got to get limber because you know you're going to be pointing to the screen as much as I am on the other side of the break, we get to find out who are those underrated talents are.
We also get to find out what else is going on here at Norcross.
Halftime rolls on here.
Football Fridays in Georgia halftime stick and stay.
We'll be right back.
We promise.
So.
You wouldn't take a call during the big game.
Oh hey what's up man.
You wouldn't be texting while cheering on your team.
Jacket.
And you definitely wouldn't want to watch a video while marching with the band.
So why would you drive a car while distracted?
Driving isn't a game when you lose on the road, it could lead to a crash.
So when you get behind the wheel, put the distractions aside, drive hands free, and save lives.
Heads up Georgia.
I've been checking food labels for years.
I like to buy local, and I like to buy healthy for my family.
So I started checking the labels on our clothes too.
Did you know synthetic fibers like polyester are pretty much made of oil?
No, thanks.
I look for cotton now, which grows right here in Georgia, a major source of the world's cotton.
Cotton is natural, renewable, sustainable.
And buying cotton supports Georgia farmers.
Good enough for me and my family.
Welcome back.
Halftime continues here from Norcross Blue Devils Stadium.
Keith G. Maloof field.
So we're hanging out here at the Maloof and it's that time.
Let me put my notes down so I can have one hand to do it.
All right, everybody limber.
You ready to point?
Because it's time for Matt Stewart and all of our favorites here in the state of Georgia, where we sit there and look at the underappreciated and the under known, it's time to make that kid an offer.
Make that kid an offer.
This week starts in Brooklyn.
Colby Smith, southeast Bulloch two way player, 510, 185 running back and strong safety.
Junior year just over 2000 all purpose yards, 22 touchdowns, 26 tackles this season so far, just under 800 yards, nine scores, 21 tackles, two picks.
National Honor Society four GPA and no college offers.
Get on it.
Make Colby Smith an offer.
Payton Eccles, Trinity Christian, six foot one, 75, senior wide receiver, number 25 in the state, leads region two, AAA, just under 800 receiving yards, 63 receptions for scores, eight games, 14 receptions, 157.
In the matchup against Whitewater, 35 GPA in the classroom make Payton Eccles an offer.
Quinton Johnson, kicker Punter Noonan 510, 190.
Ranked number 32.
Kicker number 61.
Punter in the nation according to Kohl's multiple special teams.

Finalist for the Kohl's National Player of the Week in Week six.

Then he's going to take his skills to the next level, majoring in either psych advertising, digital marketing, industrial design, sports medicine, and sports science make Quinton Johnson an offer.
Evan Evans, Dade County two way player, linebacker, running back, 510, 208 games this year, almost 100 tackles, six TfL, two sacks, three hurries and a pick.

Leighton Myers, North Murray, 59, 195 for the year 773 yards, nine scores, 180 receiving yards, a 3.5 GPA, offers in D2 make Leighton Myers an offer.
That's it for this week.
Under known, it's a new word.
We just made it up.
It's appropriate.
In addition to Colby Smith, Payton Echols, Quint Johnson you need to know about John Fair the third, the QB at drew.
And in addition to Evan Evans at Dade County, and Leighton Myers.
Find out more about Bryson Morris from North Paulding, the running back there in 26.
It is that time will come on in time to catch up with Will and now Will Bishop.
He's a friend of ours.
He's been with us for a really long time.
Today you had to walk somebody on Senior Day.
What was it like being a principal dad here for one of the band members?
Well, it's cool.
My youngest is a senior, of course, and so she's one of the drum majors of the band.
And it's cool to get to honor her and all the other seniors because they have.
It's also neat to hear what they're up to here in the future.
So many people want to go into medicine, engineering, all kinds of different fields.
It's just neat to see what the kids are up to.
So what else is going on here at North Norcross that folks need to know about?
So one of the really cool things is our graduation rate jumped up seven points this year, which is an I guess it's great a reflection of what our kids have done, what our outstanding staff has done over the last few years.
We look forward to more successes and seeing what all these kids do once they leave our campus here.
We just had one student the other day, Sophie, who found out she's going to get to go to West Point.
And so congratulations to her.
And so we're excited for her and how she'll serve our country here in the future.
West point Ivy League.
We saw all the stuff.
As always.
It's great to be here now at Keith Maloof Field in Blue Devils Stadium.
Thanks for being a great host.
Absolutely.
We're glad to have you guys.
All right.
That is the lowdown here at Norcross.
We come back around the corner.
Halftime is over.
It's winding down.
We find out what was said at halftime with the home team.
They got some work to do.
More coming up.
Football Fridays in Georgia third quarter coming up around the corner.

We'll be right back.

Time here at Norcross and North Gwinnett in command 27-3 And the coach's interview is brought to you by Johnny's New York style pizza, your original neighborhood pizzeria down in Kelly.
Thank you very much, Matt here with Coach Richardson.
What'd you talk to him about?
Because there was one moment in the second quarter where you got him together and you were like, we're just a couple of plays away from being in this.
You were trying to remind them, hey, you're not that far away.
Was that more of the conversation at the half?
I mean.
Like last.
Year we were in the same situation.
We're down 27.
To nothing.
We started.
Getting some.
Stops, and that's.
What we're.
Not doing early in the first half.
But we got some stops, got it to 27, 21 with the ball in the fourth quarter.
So we're half at midfield with a drive with a chance to win.
We're right there.
They had a big special teams play that was huge.
And we just got to get off the field on third down.
Offensively we're starting to execute and move the ball.
We just got to finish the drive and put it in the end zone.
Thanks for your time.
Thank you I appreciate it.
And that is the early word here.
Getting ready for the third quarter.
Home teams got some work to do Matt.
Indeed they do.
And Nellie Wayne we'll see if history can repeat itself as Norcross did make a big second half comeback last year, but North Gwinnett been doing everything right.
Great return here.
By Kalil Mazone.
Kalil Mazone both sides of the ball.
Dominance right here.
Dropping in the bucket to Evan Hawkins for the first score for North Gwinnett.
Yeah Rahman what a game he's had already.
And Godfree took it in on the Wildcat.
And then Halcomb in their quarterback.
Hands off to Taylor.
Another touchdown, another long drive.
Rahman to the air again.
Two touchdown passes for Rahman in the first half.
12 of 13 for 118.
Young man's had a great game.
Yeah great job especially throwing the ball as we know he can run the ball.
And when you look at the stats really what just jumps off to me Matt is the difference in the rushing game.
Just a complete dominance by the Bulldogs.
And then what concerns you is the third down conversion zero for six.
That means you're not staying on the field five for six for North Gwinnett.
They're able to get in.
And that's a function of they're in third and short most of the time.
And the Blue Devils are in third and long.
Most of the time.
Yeah that stat the third down conversions in particular Wayne kind of echoes what Coach Richardson was just talking about right there with Nelly.
They can't get off the field.
North Gwinnett has converted five of six and that's why they had a 97 yard touchdown run drive.
That's why they had an 80 yard touchdown drive.
They were impressive.
They had big plays, but they had big drives bigger than the big plays were the big drives.
And that's why they are in total control of this game right now.
And the thing that impressed you about that offensive performance in the first half was the variety of people that touched the ball and made an impact, whether it was Mazone Taylor Brown from the running back position, Halcomb Rahman running the ball, and then Braylon Jackson Hawkins and Patterson and their ability to catch the ball down the field, just a complete offensive dominant performance.
Jackson to your point, six catches for 56 yards.
Hawkins four catches for 52 yards and a touchdown.
Mazone had a touchdown catch as well in the back of the end zone.
We showed you that in just a few moments ago.
And then rushing the ball.
Taylor has been their leading rusher six carries for 44 yards.
The other story that stats don't really tell you about is the way they've used their players.
Mazone and Josh Jones and Zach Lewis, starters on the offensive ball side of the ball, getting a lot of snaps on the defensive side of the ball tonight.
Yeah, definitely.
The size seems to be affecting the physicality affecting this Norcross team's ability to run the ball.
And right here to start this half, you just feel like they got to get some kind of turnover.
Special team play, something to breathe some energy into this team as they start this half.
Yeah North Gwinnett is going to get the ball to start this third quarter.
And they already have a 24 point lead.
So they begin the second half.
You know, in a position where they come out and put together another long drive.
They go up by 30 plus.
And remember if you're up by 30 plus going into the fourth quarter, you got a run the clock.
So I mean, you would think that they got that in the back of their mind.
That's something we want to do here tonight.
I'm quite sure.
Yeah I'm quite sure.
Coach Godfree was stressing that hey, let's keep the pressure on and see how this third quarter turns out.
Second half kickoff is brought to you by Heads Up, Georgia.
Park your phone while you're driving.
It saves lives as Frey has it teed up and ready to go.
And the kick is going to be taken in the end zone.
That'll be a touchback.
And so that's a good start for North Gwinnett in or North Cross in that they're going to keep North Gwinnett from getting a big return here.
They'll have to start at the 20.
Got to get off the field.
That has to be your number 1 priority.
But to do that you're going to have to meet the tempo with that defensive front.
Carter Luckie.
Tyler Jackson.
These guys, Miles Davis Eric Pitts.
They're going to have to start making some plays defensively.
Create third and long and try to get off the field.
You can't let North Gwinnett go on those long drives in this third quarter.
So it looks like Halcomb is going to be the starting quarterback to begin the third quarter.
Bobbled the snap coming back to him.
Now.
Picks it up and makes something out of it.
Gets 5 yards on the play.
He was 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
Great job there by the young sophomore Halcomb here just didn't catch the ball right there.
Looked like he was already kind of concentrating on getting the ball.
The Mazone didn't catch the ball but made up with it and showed you the speed and athleticism right there.
Yeah, Norcross missed a golden opportunity for a big loss right there.
It's going to be second down and five.
Play action.
Spin move Halcomb throws to the sideline and broken up at the 38 yard line.
Trying to go to Hawkins.
And that was Clermont over there on the coverage along with Jason Jones.
Down.
Good defense good tight coverage.
Back on the back end Clermont running step for step.
Evan Hawkins wanted to go to Max Patterson.
That was taken away from him on the little rollout.
Trying to get the ball down the field now.
Third and four.
Can you get off the field.
That is the key to getting back into this game.
Running back in the game.
So you have to keep your mind on whether you'll run the ball.
Oh no.
It still.
Halcomb Halcomb.
And he picks up the first down as he follows Zach Lewis through the hole.
And you felt like quarterback.
Jake Torres.
He followed through.
The.
Hole and you felt like it was going to be a quarterback draw in this situation.
They've had a lot of success right there, pushing Torres ahead.
He's big gaping hole there once again by the offensive line.
It looked like when he pushed the right guard Jake Torres, it made him lose his balance or else he would have an even bigger run.
Taylor gashes the defense and all the way down across the 50 to the 44.
And here just no hole for Wilson Taylor right here.
Initial good penetration up the field there by Lewis.
And then just the ability of Wilson Taylor to find that backside cut lane and showing you the elusiveness that he has.
Yeah they really like him because Taylor is a guy that's proven to be tough to bring down.
He's seven carries for 67 yards now averaging 9.6 yards per carry.
Tonight.
Roll out Halcomb dumps it.
Complete goes to Hawkins again Hawkins inside the 30 and out of bounds at the 21.
Seems like every time Hawkins catches the ball he's got nothing but green grass in front.
Of him.
Just beautiful execution right here.
Good job.
Out on the edge.
Controlling the edge.
No pressure there.
And then just open field.
No one out carrying that receiver to the flat.
No one's running with him right there all the time in the world to deliver that ball is Halcomb.
Five catches.
Now for Hawkins.
So you got Jackson with six catches.
Hawkins with five.
Up top.
They go for the end zone and a jump ball.
It's intercepted at the goal line.
Burks comes down with the interception after it was deflected right to him.
Was the interception.
And just throwing the ball up here.
Just trying to trust his receiver in a 50 50 ball situation.
Ball kind of hanging a long time here.
As you can see.
Trying to get the ball down the field to Christian Jackson.
Great job of coverage there.
By Clermont knocking that ball tip drill right here.
Ball goes up Joshua Burks making a play.
Yeah.
Deflected off the hands of Clermont right into the hands of Josh Burks for his second interception of the season.
And the 13th interception for this Norcross team.
And a man down in the end zone for North Gwinnett I think.
Or is it a Norcross I think no, it's a Norcross player that's down in the end zone.
We talked about this Norcross team needing a break right there.
This time they got the turnover.
Field position is not the best.
They're going to have to get this ball and go with it.
PJ Wolfe makes some plays down the field.
That was really the first time all night we've seen there's been a play where we could say, oh, well, that was not a that was not a well executed play by North Gwinnett.
Yeah, just tough decision right there.
And you feel like in that situation, if you maybe were going to Braylon Jackson, he's the guy that you want in that situation at 61 Christian Jackson only 510.
I think that's Jordan Isabu that got shaken up on that play, and they're helping him to the medical tent.
Look at us in our eyes and say.
Unfortunately for Burks, he didn't have the wherewithal just to go down in the end zone and make it a touchback.
So North Gwinnett starts at the 1 yard line.
Wolfe going to throw out of his end zone.
He's got plenty of time.
Gets it out of there and it's intercepted at the 36 yard line.
Goes right back to Gist.
Pick six.
Touchdown.
North Gwinnett.
Five Andruw Gist.
Being aggressive trying to get a chunk play down the field is PJ Wolfe looking for Drew Noel-saint playing great.
Center field is Andrew Gist the Yale commit 6′1″, 188 junior a senior.
Excuse me.
Just playing center field.
You can see him right there.
Gets his head around.
He finds the ball.
He has an eye on it right there.
Just tight coverage.
They're running down the field.
Johansen nowhere really to fit that ball in the Noel-saint.
And then just fielding the ball almost like a punt return right there as Gist and taking it to the house.
That was about as easy a pick six as you can get.
The touchdown is good.
After the play, we have dead ball, unsportsmanlike conduct on the defense, 15 yards will be added to the.
Kickoff against North Gwinnett.
That penalty.
That makes it 33-3 Small solace for for Norcross that they'll back up the kickoff 15 yards.
The points count.
The.
Healy on for the P.a.t.
And the kick is good.
34-3 A 38 yard pick six for Andrew Gist.
And North Gwinnett has extended their lead to 30 plus here in what could be their region championship game tonight.

Dot.
Mason is an elite talent due to his work ethic and how he manages his time.
He wants to win.
He's not out there for a participation trophy, I can promise you that.
North Gwinnett, 34.
Norcross three.
Early third quarter.
It's been all Bulldogs tonight.
Smart choices, big adventures.
Meet the Avengers.
Georgia's newest kid heroes.
Join them on their quest to help others at GPB.
Org Avengers.
Smart choices, big adventures I thought they were talking about the North Gwinnett game plan tonight.
It's just been solid and all three phases just dominance right there.
The defense responding to their offense, turning the ball over with a pick six themselves.
Andrew Guice looking like Andrew Jones playing center field right there and taking it to the house.
Great job by that young man.
The 28-year-old version of.
The.
Short kick after the 15 yard penalty and Jones on the return across the 45, 50, 45 and Jason Jones gets to the 40.
Down to the North Gwinnett.
So the first order of business here for Norcross is you got to get that lead below 30.
Good.
Return here.
Good blocking.
Nice rebounding.
That McCarthy.
Excuse me.
Jason Jones right there.
The return man doing a good job.
Good vision.
Let's see what this Blue Devils team go here in this situation we saw him be aggressive on the turnover.
But you got to keep that same attitude.
You got to feel like you got to get in the end zone fast and quick.
Get some momentum going.
Play action.
Wolfe has time throws.
It's going to be caught by Talley and Talley picks up about eight on the play down to the 33.
There's a flag.
Down.
Good protection, long developing play.
Talley Little end route.
On the play.
Call by the back judge on this situation.
It's likely pass interference or holding.
Personal foul face mask defense 15 yards added to the end of the run.
First down.
So Norcross really needs to take advantage of this right here.
And I know when I said they got to get it under 30, that was kind of a captain Obvious thing to say.
But I mean, you do.
I mean, if you're going to make a comeback here, you can't do it with a running clock in the fourth quarter.
Right there.
You see that left hand yanking on the facemask right there?
Bryson Ford on that tackle.
Handoff goes to Edwards.
Kendall Edwards gets four on the play.
Make it three on the play.
Down to the 16.
And right here for Norcross.
You also want to play with a little pace.
Not in a two minute mode.
But you got to start feeding on that energy.
You kind of putting yourself in a lull sometimes.
And it's taking so long to get to the next play takes away from some of the excitement that you have going on.
You got to score five times if you're going to come back and win.
So yeah, you're right.
You got to pick up the pace.
Wolfe heavy rushes coming at him puts the ball out there for Noel-saint broken up.
Pass broken up to the end zone.
That was Ford who breaks it up.
Good battle there by Bryson Ford Drew Noel-saint just a 50 50 ball trying to trust Noel-saint to make a play.
Kind of getting turned around there on the pass.
We talked about Bryson Ford.
He's the corner that gets all the work.
Chauncy Davis Jr.
Over there with ice cream cone.
Exactly.
And just taking the night off, in a sense, but excellent corner.
Their best player in the secondary shutdown guy.
Good reason why Norcross is staying away from him.
So third down and eight ball sitting on the 16.
Wolfe heavy rush comes at him.
He's in trouble.
Quarterback sack back at the 30 1 yard line.
Ethan Robinson Robin to Jake Godfrey's Batman.
And this is all about Chauncy Davis right here.
He's gearing up to try to throw this slant route.
Watch 27, take it away.
And then the pressure is right in his face.
Right there by Ethan Robinson just couldn't get that ball off corner playing tight bump coverage.
And then good job.
By Ethan Robinson haven't talked much about him, but his numbers jump off the page.
When you look at what he's done for this team this year.
Just a passionate, physical player.
Five tackles for Robinson make that four tackles now for Robinson and Frey.
He's going to try a long field goal of 49 yards.
Kick is on its way and the kick is good.
There is a roughing the kicker penalty on the play as well.
They're going to get Chauncy Davis off of the edge once again.
Elijah Frey.
Falling down.
That was a high 49 yard field goal.
He got a lot under that.
But let's check the penalty call here.
Is it roughing or running into.
Running into the kicker defense.
The penalty is declined.
The field goal is good.
So since it would not give them a first down with a roughing it would running into it won't.
You can see Davis right here laying out and just not able to get to the ground before Frey.
His foot came down.
I tell you what, Frey did a good job of really putting a lot of air under that football to make sure it didn't get blocked.
And so a second field goal for Friday night makes it 34-6 So he's hit from 49 and he's hit from 45 tonight.
That sack by Ethan Robinson show paid dividends of keeping them out of a situation where they were in four down territory.
Having to basically settle for that field goal there, put some points on the board.
And you might say, well, why did they go for three right there?
It gets them under 30.
That's an important number in Georgia high school football.
Because if you're going to make a comeback, you can't do it.
Well you can, but I've never heard of a team doing it with a running clock.
I've never heard of a team coming back with a running clock in the fourth quarter.
So now you prevent that as long as you can keep it, your deficit under 30 going into that fourth quarter.
Either way, it's going to be really tough.
So here's the kickoff from Frye going to send it deep.
And it's going to go out of bounds inside the five.
They'll bring it out to the 35.
And you can see his frustration right there.
Just did not hit it.
Not sure whether that bump.
On the kicking team.
The offense will take the ball at the 35 yard line.
First down.
Not sure of that bump on the leg.
Had anything to do with it.
Just looked like he missed one right there and gifted.
Great field position to start this drive for North Gwinnett.
There's Rahman first half numbers 12 of 13 for 118 yards and a couple of touchdowns.
Really good first half.
Obviously only one incompletion as he comes out for their second drive of the night here in the second half.
Patterson in motion.
Handoff goes to Brown.
Stephen Brown gets stopped right there by Eric Pitts.
The linebacker.
Eric still just a good job with that offensive line.
No blue jerseys and no penetration.
Second down and six.
Only a four yard run.
But that's what you want on first down.
Any old line coach will tell you if you can get four or five yards on first.
That is a successful running play.
You're always trying to create second and six or less.
They're approaching 200 yards rushing in this game.
And a quarterback run by Rahman.
Wow.
Look at him just kind of weave through the traffic to pick up the first down at the 48 yard line.
Good smart run by Rahman Matt.
This is a busted play right here.
He went to hand the ball off to Stephen Brown.
Stephen Brown didn't take the ball.
Look right here.
He's not sure.
Kind of late into the play right there.
But then just improvising his Rahman to get up field.
Just a little miscommunication between the back on the handoff, but a great job of making a quick decision and getting yards.
First and ten Rahman to the air complete to Patterson Patterson inside the 45, 40 and Patterson down to the 36 yard line.
Max Patterson with his third catch of the night.
This is an impressive tight end.
The way he has blocked tonight.
And then right here showing you the Rob Gronkowski right there.
Didn't he look like Rob Gronkowski right there lumbering.
He is the Ron Gronkowski of.
High school.
Football.
Yeah that's Crye opening it up physical at the end.
If he keeps growing he might be the size of Ron Gronkowski.
By the time it's over.
He's already 6′6″, 245.
Running a jet here to Jackson and Christian Jackson down to the 25.
And this is what we talked about with this offense.
The groove that is in it's just hard for Norcross right now.
This team is hitting you inside outside.
They're hitting you in the middle.
They're throwing the ball to various people.
They're getting everyone involved in this effort tonight.
And just it's just dominating.
Going to hand it off to Jackson again.
This time they're going to go to the far side.
And Christian Jackson down inside the 15 to the 13 flag comes out on the play.
Late, holding down the field.
Jackson crossed the field on that jet action.
Yeah, that's kind of what I was alluding to in the first half.
Norcross doesn't know where the punches are coming from.
No clue right now.
They they haven't taken a phase away from North Gwinnett.
You go, you go.
Hold it.
Offense 10 yards from the spot of the foul.
Replay.
First down.
We got a concession stand.
Special hunting.
Yeah.
Been a tough night for Norcross and Corey Richardson.
They have not had a game like that this season.
Their only two losses by a total of five points to Peachtree Ridge and Walton.
A. Handoff goes to Mazone Mazone down to the 22 Wisdom making the tackle big.
Rogers Wisdom 510, 330.
Rahja Wisdom on the tackle.
Good job.
Offensive line.
Not having to negotiate running backs or hitting the line clean.
Aggressive run there by Mazone.
And they're on one of those long take up the clock drives or North Gwinnett once again.
No doubt they've had so many of those tonight.
Handoff goes to Taylor Taylor going to get stopped at the 20 this time and driven back.
Taylor Tyler Jackson the defensive tackle there to stonewall him.
Looks like we have a player down here in the middle of the field.
Not sure if he's moving or not.
Player down in the field.
Scared.
Let's see.
Come here, come here.
Get over here.
Come here.
Can't see a number.
I'm.
I think that might be Carter Luckie.
So North Gwinnett as they tend to Carter Luckie.
To your point about the drives, they've had a 97.
They've had an 18 play, 97 yard drive.
They've had an 11 play, 78 yard drive, an eight play, 80 yard drive, all touchdown drives, and they are in the middle of a drive that started at the 35.
So working on a potential 65 yard drive right here.
Can't really see which body part they're working on.
Looks like maybe the leg.
Yeah, it looks like one of his legs.
His left leg there.
Talked about him battling through different injuries to get back.
Finally kind of getting back into the groove.
So we'll step aside as they continue to deal with Carter Luckie.
Hand for number 0.

446 left in the third quarter.
North Gwinnett in command as they have been pretty much all night.
346 the lead Matt Stewart Wayne Gandy John Nelson.
As we come out of the injury time-out, they got lucky to the tent and it's third down and six for the Bulldogs.
Rahman heavy rush gets it out of there.
One on one and Hawkins can't run under it.
Complete intended for number 9.
Evan Hawkins.
So fourth down.
Let's see what they do here.
So we're going to keep the offense on the field here.
This situation you got to be alert for the ability of Rahman being able to scramble and make a play.
Run the ball.
Now they're going to bring Healy on for the field goal.
They decided to change their mind.
I think this is something where, you know, they've been very nervous about their kicking.
Their only two of I think five on field goal attempts this season.
Julie's one of four does have a long of 48.
This is going to be a 38 yarder for him.
Kick is going to be blocked.
And the pick is.
So Norcross comes up with a big special teams play to keep North Gwinnett from scoring any more.
Jordan Isabu off the edge coming clean.
Not sure anyone even got a hand on him right here.
As you can see that up man.
He has to put a paw on him.
Ryan Taran didn't even touch him.
Barely.
Jordan Isabu.
So first and ten Norcross takes back over down 34-6 And you know from the North Gwinnett standpoint, the reason why that's important, they're going to have to execute field goals.
You're getting ready to go into the playoffs, and there's a good chance that you're going to run into a game where you need a field goal.
Tonight, not so much.
But over the next month it could happen.
Jarwlee with the run up to the 38 yard line, Sylvester Jarwlee getting the carry.
Good job.
By Jarwlee able to bring this ball in.
The pitch was behind him a little high.
A lot of green grass in front of him.
Right there.
511, 180 pounds sophomore.
That was the first carry of the night for Jarwlee.
Still not playing a lot of pace here in this game as Norcross.
Good penetration once again Jake Godfree in the backfield.
Jarwlee on the carry.
Tackled a 35 yard line.
Going to lose a yard on that play.
Shackled by number 10 Jake Godfree.
Pretty quiet night for him defensively.
But he did have the rushing touchdown out of the Wildcat in the first half.
Hard to run in the middle of this defense.
You talk about Jones Benemon inside 511260 plays with great leverage.
They stick Zach Lewis in there as well.
Third down and two.
Wolfe going to throw off his back foot and throw it out of bounds.
Let's see if they drop a flag.
Once again he's still in the pocket right there.
He's he's falling back.
Pressure off the edge.
He's falling back.
But falling back does not represent that.
You're outside the pocket.
No one out in the area.
Good pressure.
Mazone off the edge.
Feeling the pressure.
And as you can see, just throwing the ball still between the tackles.
And there's no one out there.
Intentional grounding.
Intentional grounding.
Offense 5 yards from the spot of the foul penalty lost it down.
Fourth down.
So Blue Devils will have to punt.
Tough situation, bringing the pressure North Gwinnett.
And the pressure itself.
It hasn't necessarily gotten there for the sack, but feeling that pressure is really put PJ Wolfe in a bind.
They're making another mistake of intentional grounding.
Evan Hawkins back deep for North Gwinnett.
So a chance to see Frey do his work again.
He's been busy tonight.
Two punts for a.055 yard average, and he's kicked a 45 and a 49 yard field goal.
If the Blue Devils have had a star of the game, it's been him.
Unfortunately, that's usually not a great thing when your punter and kicker.
Play a game.
Offense, five yard penalty still fourth down.
Too many men in the huddle try to get off late.
Having to take the delay of game penalty right here, pushing them back another 5 yards right here.
Even with a good punt by Frey you imagine this Bulldog offense will start midfield.
Frey gets it out of there.
Hawkins catches it at the 46 and Hawkins nice return across the other 45 and down to the 44.
And that's where North Gwinnett will go on offense.
They keep driving him back.
Now to the Norcross 43.
So 257 to play in the third.
Let's check in with Nelly.
All right.
Let's start the tour here.
And we'll start with South Georgia region one 6-A.
And don't forget there's going to be a QR code popping up on the screen.
You get more scores by hitting that QR code as we go.
Tonight in region 168, Lowndes winning over Richmond Hill.
That one's been pretty tight.
It's a 12 point margin.
Third quarter at Lowndes wins there at 4:04.
And Richmond Hill drops to 2-2 It's elimination games really for Camden.
And Valdosta was beating Tift Colquitt beating Camden.
They dropped to zero and four.
If they lose we know who the four teams are in region 16, eight.
We just don't know the order yet.
Matt.
And you got that Wintersville classic probably for the region championship next Friday night.
Kevin Brown straight ahead on the carry down to the 30.
I'm not mistaken, Lowndes is currently atop the PSR in the 6-A classification.
The postseason rankings that will not be used this season for the playoff bracket, but will be used next season.
So 2.5 minutes to play here in the third quarter.
If North Gwinnett wants to get it to a running clock in the fourth, they need to score here before the quarter is over.
The run by Rahman down to the 30.
Once again, just a good job by the offensive line.
Jacob Bayer inside offer for Berry.
He's been getting, you know, a big center six for 300 pounds off that left side.
Odell and Jones other quarterback designed run that Rahman and Halcomb have done an excellent job running the ball tonight.
Hawkins goes in motion and they go inside, hand off to Mazone.
Mazone cuts inside the ten touchdown.
North Gwinnett.
Mazone from 30 yards out.
What a great job of run blocking tonight by the offensive line.
Coming off the right side untouched for that kind of run in this situation.
Dominant blocks double team right there.
Great job.
Sawyer and Lewis Zachary Lewis great blocking down the field by Braylon Jackson.
Even a better decision by him letting the block go and not holding.
And then Kalil Mazone with the speed.
The burst for the touchdown.
Kick is up and it is good.
41-6 North Gwinnett leading Norcross by 35 with under 2 minutes to play here in the third quarter.
Mazone, the senior running back linebacker with seven offers, including Toledo, Army and Bowling Green.
So getting a lot of love from that Mac, Mid-American conference.
The double team, the kick out block right there by Odell.
Look at the hole right there.
No one touches this young man on this run for a touchdown.
He runs and Coach Godfree talked about you know with the situation at linebacker he was not going to play as much on offense.
But when he has had to carry the ball and give them that size and that physicality, he has stepped in and done an amazing job running the ball.
271 yards rushing for North Gwinnett tonight.
They came in averaging 186 a game.
So nearly 100 yards more rushing tonight than they typically average.
And we still have a quarter to go 443 total yards in the game.
Jones on the return, Jayson Jones gets stopped at the 24.
Yard line.
Johansen on this drive right here, you start getting into the point of the game as a team, you got to just start trying to have some success.
You know the score.
As they say, you got one score at a time, one play at a time.
That's where you are right now.
Getting away from you and to continue and have a great season.
You just got to start playing one play at a time and try to build some momentum, stop looking at the scoreboard and just start playing football.
Absolutely.
The clock works against you here.
I mean, you're down five scores as it is.
27 yard line.
So the reality is you're not going to get five more possessions.
Unless of course you get points off of defense and turnovers or something like that.
So mathematically you've almost reached a point where it is impossible to make a comeback.
Good job.
Jake Godfree stopping the run right there.
Still not playing with any kind of tempo, but the most important part is execution.
This offense has just been dominated by this defense.
We talked about this North Gwinnett team is explosive as the offense has become.
It's led by their defense.
They set the tempo.
They're expected to go out and have these games where they only give up 10-14 points.
And the offense has it's growing is showing you that they have so many varieties of weapons to use.
They have given up only 25 yards rushing tonight, 20 carries, 25 yards, 1.3 yards per carry average.
Stout defense from the Bulldogs tonight.
Wolfe to the air and throws.
And nearly picked Chauncey Davis Jr.
CJ Davis nearly had himself a pick right there.
Saw you talking to his dad before the.
Game.
Your former teammate with the Atlanta Falcons, Chauncey Davis.
Good teammate.
Grew up in the same area in Florida as well.
Chauncey, a great guy, and his son.
The possibilities of what he might be able to do.
As we talked about right now, at that kind of size playing corner, that just bodes well for when he gets to Southern Miss.
And that is the end of the third quarter.
We will have a running clock in the fourth quarter as North Gwinnett has dominated this game.
They will win the region championship.
They've done almost everything right.

We're heading to the fourth quarter here.
416 North Gwinnett on top of Norcross.
They're not just heroes, they're the Avengers saving the world.
One smart choice at a time.
Watch the new digital series now at GPB.
41-6 North Gwinnett.
They will be the region champions, and they're counting four in a row.
They're counting the region championship they had in 2023.
Officially, it'll be their second in a row outright and their third in four years.
So North Gwinnett on defense as we start this fourth quarter ball in the air.
And it's going to be caught at the 45 and beyond out across the 50.
And to the other 45.
As Norcross moves the ball into plus territory, ball goes to Talley for the second time tonight.
Yeah.
Good protection right there up front.
Good throw and catch on the outside.
The Wolfe and Talley.
You want to work on things right now in this situation.
As I said, you feel like the score has gotten away from you.
You're running clock, but there's still a lot to do out here for this offense.
You want to get some some things on tape.
You want to feel good about yourself even in a loss that you got something accomplished.
Wolfe running for his life, going to run to the sideline and step out of bounds at the 43.
So they still have work in front of them.
They got a big game next Friday night at Brookwood, and they need to win that game in order to secure a home playoff game and be the number 2 seed.
And if they don't, then they'll end up being the number 3 seed in all likelihood, or actually, the door would still be open.
They could fall to the four seed if they lose to Brookwood next week because Peachtree Ridge is looming and Peachtree Ridge beat them 24-2 24-22 during the regular season.
So that, like I said, they got work still to be done here.
Ball is going to be caught inside the 30 and down to the ten yard line.
Nice catch and run by zine Goodine.
So we have a penalty on the field, but a good find here.
Clean pocket.
Good job.
Good line right there.
Looks like this is maybe coming back.
Mac.
So a nice positive play.
Looks like it's going to be a race by a penalty.
So the way the playoff format is.
Down on the offense, five yard penalties from the previous spot remain second down.
For this one final year in this format, the region matchups are predetermined.
So region seven will be playing region four in the first round.
And as the two seed, you would be at home.
As the three seed, you'd be on the road as the four seed.
You would likely well, not likely you would be playing at number 1.
Grayson in the first round.
That would be something that you want to avoid at all.
Possibility, all cost.
Ball is fumbled and recovered by North Gwinnett.
Covered by North at the midfield stripe.
So the ball goes over on the fumble recovery as Ewan Glass falls on top of the loose ball and the Bulldogs are on offense.
When we get back.

Welcome back to the Maloof 41.
Six 9:49 to go on the clock here in Norcross QR code is going to pop up on the screen.
You can find out more scores as we go tonight with our early start.
Matt, since you mentioned region four 6-A, here's the rundown of what we know going on tonight.
Grayson winning big.
No real surprise.
If they win they go to 5-0 Archer winning big.
If they win they go to 4-1 Newton and Rockdale County is tomorrow South Gwinnett.
If they lose they go to 3-2 heritage and Grovetown would be knocked out.
So then you're looking at Rockdale as your five looking to peak in five for four, looking for that four spot.
But that's where we are right now.
Grayson, Archer, Newton and Rockdale playing tomorrow.
South Gwinnett chasing the four.
Yeah I was looking at kind of the their seasons this week.
And it looks like Newton is in the driver's seat to get that two seed behind Grayson.
If they take care of business and win out for the rest of the season, and that means Norcross if they are able to get the three seed, which it looks like they they have to win next week against Brookwood to guarantee that.
Or they could be the two seed, but you could have a, a, a Norcross at Newton matchup in the first round of the playoffs.
Big run right here for North Gwinnett all the way down to the 22 yard line.
As they're getting in some of their deeper players.
That's Wilson Taylor actually there on that run right there.
So Taylor is going to have a shot at getting close to a 100 yard rushing game.
Here.
Starting O-line still in there.
Great job pulling bouncing to the outside right there by Wilson Taylor showing you his ability out in the open field.
And this this team is just dominated at the line of scrimmage.
And each and every back just touch the ball has had success.
299 rushing yards for North Gwinnett tonight.
And Taylor is now at 96.
Brown gets the carry that time and he's down to the 19 yard line.
Anthony Allen right there.
Good job of shedding the block and falling back into that play.
A lot of it is just Matt as we we know about football.
When you can't get any penetration up front, you're going to be in trouble trying to stop the run.
The big defensive line up there.
Wisdom and Marcus Austin Jackson just not able to get the job done tonight against this offensive line.
Second down.
And I know that's a big shock for Corey Richardson because he had told us he felt like their offensive and defensive lines had been the strength of their team this year.
Offense.
Five yard penalty remains second down.
But tonight their strength has been overwhelmed by North Gwinnett strength.
Yeah, this offensive line has done a great job.
The tight end Max Patterson on that edge.
The way he has handled the defensive ends and a one on one situation has paid big dividends.
Halcomb throws the ball complete to Jackson.
Christian Jackson spins and gets down to the 20.
Two yard.
This will be the seventh consecutive win for North Gwinnett in the all time series, and it will even up the series 15 15.
Also break a streak of three games in the series that have been really close the last couple of years had been decided, all three of them by ten points or less.
Obviously, that's not happening here tonight, and North Gwinnett will go into the state playoffs as a number 1 seed out of region seven.
And under the current playoff format that we're working under, that would be the four seed coming out of region number 4.
As Nellie was talking about.
You're talking about, my guess and the way things are going to shake out here these last couple of weeks that will end up being South Gwinnett.
So you can have South Gwinnett at North Gwinnett in the first round of the state playoffs.
That looks like that's a strong possibility in my mind.
It's fourth down and nine and they keep the offense out there.
And now a time-out has been called by the Bulldogs.
And we will step aside with him.
As time has been called on the field.
And a fourth down coming up for North Gwinnett.

Joining us for Friday Night Frights next Friday night GPB sports Football Fridays in Georgia on Halloween night.
Final Friday night of the regular season as Douglas County will be at Carrollton.
And that game will decide the region two 6-A champion.
That's next Friday night back at our normal time of 730, right here on GPB.
So coming out of the time-out, North Gwinnett is going to try a field goal and Healy from the right.
Hash will kick what I hope is a 37 yard field goal.
And the kick is up.
And it is good.
So Hughey hits his second field goal of the season and it's 446.

You can take the tour and find out what's going on with your favorite team here in the GHSA, the penultimate week of the regular season, the tour continues for us in region two.
5-A looks like Thomas County Central is going to win region two.
They are in control of the game against Houston County, Houston County down to three and one.
If Lee County wins tonight over Northside and they are winning next week determines the two and the three in that region.
Matt.
As Lee County and Houston County would be at 3-1 if Coffey wins tonight, we know the four teams that are coming in.
We just don't know the order that will be decided next week.
Two, 3-4 The year that Houston County finally gets a home playoff game.
They've not had a home playoff game since 2015.
Because of this format that we're in.
Of course, Jeremy Edwards is ecstatic that they're going to the power rankings system and they'll start getting some home games where they play in the toughest region in all of Georgia high school football.
I think we would all agree that I think region two 5-A has got to be the toughest year in, year out, when last year they put four teams in the quarterfinals, their four playoff teams got into the Elite Eight, and they do that pretty much every year.
So that's a big one.
You're right.
HoCo and Lee County next week.
Dean Fabrizio is back with the Trojans and Thomas County Central, who I've had in my ranked number 1 on my ballot since the preseason.
I can't wait to catch up with the Yellowjackets at some point this season.
They are a strong outfit.
The horns, the bellcow.
The vuvuzelas or vuvuzelas.
I know Nellie.
Nellie and Nikki were talking about that on their podcast this week.
Logan Herring pass is complete and.
That was Tommy Traylor on the carry.
As some of the deeper reserves are getting in the game now.
520 left in this one.
And we finally getting a look at Logan Herring on that last play at quarterback.
We thought maybe he would rotate in a little more here tonight.
They've gone back and forth on their quarterbacks this season.
Wolfe started the year as the quarterback and then after they lost to Walton, they went to Herring.
And then after they struggled going into that Parkview game, they made the change back to Wolfe.
And now they're going to give Herring a chance to get some snaps here late in this game.
Carried out to the 50 yard line.
Physical run right there in the middle.
And you just really feel and hope for Coach Richardson.
This team can regroup and put on a good showing next week against Brookwood.
Still has something to play for and this is just one of those one off kind of games where you just never find that energy and match the intensity that North Gwinnett came with.
Gaffney on the carry, he gets hit and stumbles forward to the 49.
Looks like we're going to say he's a yard short here.
So fourth down situation.
Can't imagine the offense coming off the field.
Well I mean we talked about this with Coach Godfree this week.
And you know, everybody keeps talking about, you know, the big three in 6-A.
That being Grayson Buford Carrollton.
They're all undefeated, but this North Gwinnett team that we have fourth in our 6-A top team, top ten.
I think they're in the state championship conversation.
And don't forget about McEachern.
That's right behind them.
Ranked fifth in our 6-A.
They're still undefeated.
Yeah.
When you look at the way they play offense tonight and and now you have a multitude of weapons that you can get the ball and have to defend.
Coach Godfree has to feel good.
Defense travels, run games, travel.
And now the ability of both of these quarterbacks to run the ball, but also get it out on the edge, especially in that first half.
The way Braylon Jackson caught the ball.
Max Patterson.
Seems like they're barely dusting him off.
The things he could do.
There's Dad and son, dad, Eric, son Jake, one of the top linebackers in the country in 2027.
Boy, have they had some adventures this year.
Flying out on Saturdays and going to game days together.
Great experience and I know Eric has really enjoyed this special time with his son.
Going through the recruiting process not as his head coach, but as his dad.
Yeah, he seemed like he really enjoys that time.
That special bonding moment with his son.
And it has to be a surreal feeling for him to see his son accomplishing what he has accomplished, and got him a chance to go down to Baton Rouge and the Florida game.
They've been all over.
The all over the place watching football.
I thought their biggest adventure though, was they did the double header.
They they went out to Dallas and went to the first half of the game at SMU.
And then they got in their cars and they drove to Norman, Oklahoma to catch the Oklahoma Michigan game.
And then they went to the hotel, got two or 3 hours of sleep, caught the flight back to Atlanta first thing because they had to go back to work on Sunday.
At least coach did.
I think they call that rock star living right there, man.
If you're rock star living, you're not driving to Norman someone's driving you to Norman in a limo or a tour.
Bus., and you're flying a private jet back.
You ain't going through TSA.
Right here.
Nice job.
Logan Herring getting outside using his feet.
Good delivery down the field to Marschke.
But it's been a fun time for them.
And he's still got another year to go.
I mean, the kid's going to end up, I don't know, with 500 something tackles in his career before it's all said and done.
He's got another season to go up top.
Herring got a man open and Miss Marschke in the end zone.
Getting behind the defense, kind of getting lost right there.
Defenders discussing who has who on that back end and just not able to drop it on Marschke right there was Herring.
But good job.
Good route.
All the things are there.
Just got to make the play.
Make the throw by Herring.
And you know they don't want to give up a touchdown here.
This is where the defensive pride starts kicking in a little bit.
And they've got the reserves in there.
All the starters are pretty much out at this point.
That was the carry by Traylor.
It's going to bring up third down.
So this will be eight wins in a row for North Gwinnett after they opened the season with that 217 loss against Douglas County, a Douglas County team.
We will see next Friday night playing at Carrollton.
We saw him earlier against Buford.
And you know that the Bulldogs would dearly love to get a do over on that opening game.
They felt like they just played bad.
Yeah, they are definitely.
It seems like a unit with that offensive line.
And as I said, the the receiving corps really showed up here tonight.
Rush coming off the edge.
And Herring was able to get it out of there before taking the sack.
Turner Odell.
And it's going to be fourth down.
And this might be our final play of the game.
Remember we've been playing here with a running clock because of the 30 plus rule.
So this is probably going to be the final play of the game unless Norcross is able to pick up a first down here, than they might be able to get another one in.
Herring stays in the pocket, quarterback sack, and that will end the game right there.
What a way to end the game right there for a dominant performance by North Gwinnett.
As the quarterback sack should do it.
This defense is counted on to dominate.
And tonight it did just that.
Cooper gets in the game and gets himself a quarterback sack there at the end.
Gets his name set on television.
Proud coach right there.
Coach Godfree offense clicking defense dominating everything going north.
Gwinnett way right now eight game winning streak catching momentum right before the playoffs.
That's the best time for things to be going well.
And he has to be proud of the way his team performed.
Really a complete game from start to finish.
Region champions outright for the second consecutive year and for the third time in four years for North Gwinnett and overall, their fourth consecutive region championship.
Counting their Co region championship in 2023.
Just an absolute dominating performance here tonight.
477 total yards to Norcross 136 301 on the ground, 301 yards rushing on the ground.

Nelly.
Godfree.
I think we might be having some mic issues.
Let's see if they can get those straightened out here with coach Godfree has to say right here.
First.
What?
Okay, we'll take it back.
And having trouble with those mikes, we'll see if we can get it.
Oh, there we go.
That's some of the Gatorade might have got on the mic right there.
Perhaps Gatorade and electronics is probably not a good mix.
It looks like Nelly's trying to wipe it off.
Them being here is great.
Nice job.
Just a thoroughly dominating performance by North Gwinnett here tonight.
Let's try John again.
We're going to.
Try this again.
All right.
So here there's the trophy.
That's a nice trophy.
To it.
Yeah.
So 300 on the ground tonight.
Obviously dominant across the board.
I don't think you could have asked for a better way to clinch a region title.
No no absolutely not.
You know versus a team like this a robbery like this, the way our boys prepare, it's fun to see them come out and be successful.
All right, so let me do a hot change here.
Let's go.
Player of the game.
Elam.

So 13-15 and 115 change.
What was it like out there tonight?
It was good.
You know, everybody was excited to come out here.
We knew we had to set the tone, come out here, win the region.
I think that's what we did.
I think.
You did.
Eric, show that trophy one more time.
Yes, sir.
Hold on, baby.
Yeah.
