Earlier this year, plans to build a methanol plant in the tide flats area of the Port of Tacoma were scraped after much public outcry about safety concerns. Now Puget Sound Energy wants to put in an LNG plant in the same area, and like earlier this year, there are renewed concerns about safety should something go wrong at the proposed facility.
