Not an Artist?
Clip | 1m 32sVideo has Closed Captions
What if you've been told you're not artistic enough to be an artist?
Everyone can be an artist - it's about expression and experience. Willis "Bing" Davis says we need to encourage young people to keep dreaming and keep working while continuing to incorporate art in education. Who says the sky isn't green?

- I tried to get the students that I have a chance to work with to realize that art is an innate human quality that we all possess and that some of us may choose to express themselves.
And you made me think of a friend who asked me to maybe evaluate his granddaughter at six years of age, this artwork.
And I say, "I can do it for you right now.
It needs no evaluation, just inertia and encourage them and provide opportunity for them to express and maybe save a little space on the refrigerator for those special one."
But don't over push it or you'll drive them away from art rather than to encourage them to be expressive.
But yeah, it's a matter of learning because the average person has a perception that it's only one thing, this or that.
That's where get the concept that the moon is not blue, you know?
Or either grass can't be purple.
Yeah.
But no, it's a way of expressing.
And what we wanna do is to try to get all of our children to stay involved with learning how to express through the art and get the, as they grow to support and nurture and to experience all of the art.
And it's a good way of expanding one's perception of life and also a good way of enriching one's life.
