The comeback is partly driven by a generation of digital natives who developed a love for film photography during the pandemic.
A decade ago, media experts had declared analog photography as good as dead.
Now, cells of film rolls and disposable cameras at Glazer's, a longtime local camera and film store have increased roughly 50% in recent years.
Photography-oriented nonprofits in the Northwest are also feeling the impact.
Darkroom classes at Youth In Focus now have a waiting list, a new phenomenon according to Executive Director, Samantha Kelly.
For many film photographers, the median offers an appealing alternative to the digital sleekness of a smartphone.
