Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(reverent orchestral music) - Hello, I'm Steven Hegg in the Crosscut KCTS 9 newsroom.
(soft ambient music) Supply chain dominoes keep falling, and the arts sector is feeling it.
Last month, the Pacific Science Center exhibit about hockey had to be rescheduled twice.
A container carrying artifacts for the show was on a ship that waited for weeks to dock in Seattle.
The exhibit is now open.
Because of shipping delays, art galleries have rented trucks and themselves driven precious art across the country to Seattle.
Building materials needed for shows are through the roof, if available at all, Seattle Opera is making revisions to it sets for a January production because of material shortages.
And artists can't get certain paint colors, and even paper is in short supply.
A local arts producer urges patience on the public's part and says you have to embrace the uncertainty.
I'm Steven Hegg.
