The revitalized and renovated Soldiers Memorial has re-opened in time for Veterans Day. One of the new displays is the diary of former Marine and Iran hostage Rocky Sickmann, who talks about how his 444 days of captivity continue to influence his life. A hundred years ago, the Spanish flu pandemic reached St. Louis, but the city took action even ordering the closing of theaters and churches.
