In November of 1949, Vice President Alben Barkley married to widowed St. Louis secretary Jane Hadley. Washington University’s Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum has gone through a dramatic transformation. An American Graduate report looks at the shortage of skilled workers. 100 years ago, in December 1919, World War I general and Missouri native John “Blackjack” Pershing, came to St. Louis.
